“You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” John 8:32

The Integrity of Yahweh
By Regina

1. Steadfast adherence to a strict moral or ethical code.
2. The state of being unimpaired; soundness.
3. The quality or condition of being whole or undivided; completeness.

A law is a rule or injunction that must be obeyed. So what would this world be like, if there were no laws? Of if all laws could be broken with no repercussions at all? How would you feel, if you went to a court of law for help because you’d been wronged and sought justice, yet rather than receiving justice the judge in charge of your case changed the laws and repercussions for breaking the law on a whim and the one who wronged you suffered no repercussion of their actions even though what they did was wrong?

Would you have any respect this judge? Would this judge have exhibited integrity? Would you ever be able to trust the court system that was intended to uphold the laws but did not? Would you be angry? Feel hurt or betrayed?

As a minister, I have been asked along with my fellow ministers, to sound a message and to warn the inhabitants of the earth of the coming judgment and many people may ask, “Why must judgment be upon us? Why would God want to destroy the very people He claims to love?”

The answer is simple. Integrity. And our creator, Yahweh, is a God of supreme integrity. In addition, She is an orderly God who has established laws that must not be broken and to which we must all be held accountable. But over and above this, She also holds Her own self accountable to these same laws and She cannot, and will not go back on Her Word that She decreed long ago. Therefore, a judgment must take place and as heaven has already been cleansed of the evil which resided there, so must the earth.

So does Yahweh love us? Yes! Does She want us to perish? No.

In fact She calls out to us: Proverbs 8:4 “People, I call out to you; my cry is to mankind.”

She sends signs and wonders and speaks to us in dreams and through visions so that we might be warned, prepared, gain knowledge and understanding and come to know Her better.

She does not delight in what must occur. Her true nature is love. She does not destroy out of need or want, but out of necessity to uphold Her laws. Her task is a disturbing one, because it is not Father's desire that anyone should perish for eternity. But Father must uphold Her own laws. It is Her Way and it is justified to keep Her creation clean from future rebellion.

Do not think that this is an easy task for our Creator. To destroy that which She created out of love and continues to love. Yahweh has been long suffering in the knowledge and wisdom of what must occur. Ask Yourself, if it was you, could you do what She must do? Could you uphold your integrity? Would you have the strength and presence of mind and will to stand firmly, or would you cave and instead choose to change the very laws you established because the pain of destruction might be too great for you to bear?

We are asked to keep our integrity to Her as She keeps Her integrity to Her children by upholding the sovereign laws that She put into place long ago. She is to be honored and revered for this and for having the strength and righteousness and willingness to suffer for the greater good of Her creation and so that we all might live.

This is why the coming wrath must occur; because Yahweh is a God of integrity whose judgment is righteous and fair so She has devised a plan that will bring Her creation back into the perfection She first intended it to be. Yet, at the same time She gives all of Her children ample time and opportunity to exercise their own free will, carefully explaining the options and outcomes of any given decision and giving us a choice out of love.

Be thankful that She calls out to you and that She has instructed and warned you so that you might prepare a place for Her in your heart. She loves you and does not wish that you should perish. Hear Her call. Respond to Her call. Come to know your Mother and Father, Yahweh, who loves you and wishes that you might live for eternity.

Father, I want to thank you for being with me and my loved ones each day and providing us with protection and Your love as we grow closer to you. I pray that Your Holy Spirit remain with me as I continue to walk down the narrow path closer to Your Light and Love. Father I pray you help me write Your words across my heart so that they will always be with me. Also that You give me the words I may need in my everyday life to bring Your lost children into Your light. I ask these things in Christ name, Your son and vindicator of righteous rule. Amen Father Yahweh.

Taking One's Riches to Heaven

There was an individual that was working overtime during the early hours to help their coworkers be more prepared for the day to come. While they were performing their work, they were asked whether or not they were being paid for the extra time that they were spending at work. The individual responded that they simply had a responsibility to fulfill and since their work wasn't done, then neither were they going home. They also responded that money is worthless, that it is technically without merit of any consideration. Where Father takes care of everything for a person, feeds them and clothes them, there is no need to be concerned with food or money, ever.

In Iran, it has been somewhat made profitable for individuals to sell their kidneys to those who need organ transplants of those sorts in order to survive. The individuals that do so seem to often be in a financial bind looking for a way out, whether they have debts to pay or are seeking to maintain even a low standard for living. Yet, according to a documentary about this horrible transaction, two individuals that bargained for a price of another person's life ended up losing the money they obtained and were still left in financial ruin. In this way, the different individual's values for the wrong things ended up taking more away from them than they had before, such that perhaps even what they thought they had was removed. In this way, perhaps that which people think that they have that is destined to be swept away is already gone, and it will only be a matter of time. Even a person's integrity, their purity, what they truly value which they think they could just grow in their heart, all of that could be swept away, too. Everything that a person thinks that they are could be immediately changed in a blink of an eye, with no changing that, either.

Yet, Father only works and takes action with purpose and reason.

Luke 17:31-33 — On that day, a man on the housetop, whose belongings are in the house, must not come down to get them. Likewise the man who is in the field must not turn back. Remember Lot's wife! Whoever tries to make his life secure will lose it, and whoever loses his life will preserve it.

Those who seek security and financial footing will only see it slip right through their fingers. In the times soon to come, even at the end of this summer, or tomorrow for many, there would be so much famine and devastation that it couldn't be even helped by any surplus from anywhere else on the planet. And with that will come the anger of mobs and the like, which will shatter the confidence of people in their neighbor and lawmaker to keep “peace” in order. Yet, even then, perhaps it is all not too late, not then.

By recognizing what doesn't work, such as seeking financial security, or self preservation, perhaps Father will open one's eyes to trying what might work: the direct opposite of what they've been doing to only produce further devastation. When all of the unrighteous things stop working, maybe, just maybe, people will turn towards righteous things. But that's not all.

The shattering of an unrighteous system that does not actually work is simply a positive reinforcement of the greatest thing to come to an enduring people. The Rapture. In this, those people who have taken Father's discipline to heart will be found more well prepared for His Rapture, when She has deemed it is time. If all of one's worldly possessions have finally been laid to waste and seen as worthless, maybe they will be more prepared on the day of Father's Rapture, as Christ had warned in the above Luke citation. So, rather than there only being laid waste all the unrighteous system that one may think they depend on, one may also see it as a great and perfect opportunity to finally throw off the chains of their worldly slavery and find a greater chance to grow closer to Father in their every dependence.

And more so, they may further find that they are not only throwing off the wastefulness of what they truly do not need, but at the same time making the final preparations to present themselves as more pure and worthy offerings. In this, it as if Father has given everyone many gifts, gifts that are to be grown and not abused. By the removal of that which hinders the growth of that which Father truly values, one has greater opportunity to multiply what gifts they have been given. If one also takes a close look at those gifts, they are really parts of Father, Herself. By growing those gifts that come from Father, one actually grows Father's strength within oneself.

So, in realization of all that one really has, and that it all can be taken away in an instant, one might say that it doesn't really belong to them in the first place. And as such, they should be rather willing to give, and be ready to keep giving, than to keep for oneself. In this way, when the Rapture does come, one has much to give to Father, not that it will be that Father has anything to take forcefully away. Since the things of this world cannot be taken up to Heaven as offerings to Father, be sure to pack spiritual things, because the journey is quickly coming to a new beginning. Be sure, as well, that the spiritual things are not weighted baggage that will weigh you down, because you will need to move quickly to the Rapture Vessel. Among such baggage are things that you will find you don't even need in this world at this time, either, of which cannot make a truly positive difference anywhere. And as it is, Father has already listed all the things that one actually needs to pack. Be sure to recall that at any moment Father could take any of those things away, too, even those things in one's heart, like chastity or kindness and gentleness. So when the time is right and has come, do not be withholding anything that is asked for.

Matthew 25:34-40 — Then the King will say to those on His right, 'Come, you who are blessed by My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.
    For I was hungry
    and you gave Me something to eat;
    I was thirsty
    and you gave Me something to drink;
    I was a stranger and you took Me in;
    I was naked and you clothed Me;
    I was sick and you took care of Me;
I was in prison and you visited Me.'
"Then the righteous will answer Him, 'Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You something to drink? When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or without clothes and clothe You? When did we see You sick, or in prison, and visit You?'
"And the King will answer them, 'I assure you: Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of Mine, you did for Me.

Fruitage of the Spirit – Part 10
This week we will start to look at attitudes to be cultivated. We will be sharing what has been given to us, but in groups of 3. Before our Ministry holds Bible Study each week, we pray to Father Yahweh for guidance and help in understanding Her Word. We pray the wisdom imparted will find its way to your heart where it may be written up on it. Nourishment From The Throne
“For the LORD gives wisdom. From His mouth come knowledge and understanding.” Proverbs 2:6

Cherubic Commander: I'll give a little more insight on this verse:

John 6:58 "This is the bread that came down from heaven; it is not like the manna your fathers ate—and they died. The one who eats this bread will live forever."

It differed in this sense: Manna provided physical nourishment without sacrifice of sinful conduct being taken away. Because of that reason the manna provided by Father was only a temporary life sustaining nourishment to the fleshly vessel. For continued life and possibly eternal life – one must also receive spiritual manna that comes only from being a footstep follower of Christ Jesus. When Christ told Satan you must not live by bread alone, he was noting that not only physical death eventually was the norm for those that lived out their lives on physical nourishment, but spirtual death also lurked for those that refused to follow Father's Way in Her creation if they went a counter course to Her will. Satan understood the message conveyed, because the message was a stab into his own transgression against Father's order of things he rippled by becoming a resister to.

That Christ's sacrificed human remains – his deceased body resides at heavenly Mount Zion is borne out in the fact that what the Israelites manifested on the physical plane also exists in the presence of our Creator Yahweh. It is to be kept there for eternity as a reminder to all that Christ Jesus made the sacrifice for all of creation to exist in harmony with Father's will. This does not conflict with the fact that flesh and blood cannot exist in heaven. This is because the body itself is lifeless and is in containment for perpetual existence before our Creator.

Hebrews 9:2-5 "For a tabernacle was set up; and in the first room, which is called "the holy place," were the lampstand, the table, and the presentation loaves. Behind the second curtain, the tabernacle was called "the holy of holies." It contained the gold altar of incense and the ark of the covenant, covered with gold on all sides, in which there was a gold jar containing the manna, Aaron's rod that budded, and the tablets of the covenant. The cherubim of glory were above it overshadowing the mercy seat. It is not possible to speak about these things in detail right now."

Numbers 14:12 "I will strike them with a plague and destroy them. Then I will make you into a greater and mightier nation than they are."

When Father deals with counter-productive people She often uses plagues. In this situation it is no different. Father is teaching a lesson to those that thwart Her Word as nonesential. Her lessons consist of death dealing situations caused by holy angelic intervention. Each person for the time they reside on this planet do so by the mercy of Father's kind heart. It is not Her will that anyone should perish, but the continued denial of truth to Father's throne is a disasterous path to follow.

Numbers 16:46 Then Moses told Aaron, "Take your firepan, place fire from the altar in it, and add incense. Go quickly to the community and make atonement for them, because wrath has come from the LORD; the plague has begun.""

Wrath comes from Father, not Satan. Satan is a tester because he seeks all to follow his lead. But Satan does not bring wrath. He can however cause problems and use scare tactics to try and convert others to his way of thinking. Satan fears Father. He fears Her because he knows deep down in his heart that Father's wrath will eventually catch up with him and his abode of spirit followers. His only concern for the flesh and blood mankind is one of coveting. He wants what does not rightfully belong to him. That makes him a thief in addition to all of the other crimes he stands charged with. He has placed his markers on all that belongs to our Creator. Satan owns nothing but his miserable life, and he only owns it for a short span of time because that gift like the gift of human life to mankind can be taken at any time Father so pleases. Satan's path was his choosing, and Father has intricately layed out a roadmap to make him follow in doing Her will until the day of reckoning comes for him and his angelic followers that have also transgressed against Father. The Converts will share the eternal death that the present living mankind will share at Armageddon. Satan and his angels will be brought back to further Father's will and then die an eternal death at a later time.

Leviticus 26:21 "If you act with hostility toward Me and are unwilling to obey Me, I will multiply your plagues seven times for your sins."

Numbers 16:48 "He stood between the dead and the living, and the plague was halted." Father can use intervention to halt a plague, or let it run its life-cycle.

Deuteronomy 28:59 "He will bring extraordinary plagues on you and your descendants, severe and lasting plagues, and terrible and chronic sicknesses."

Father seeks to make Her point with mankind, whether they be those that are part of Her family that are not being faithful, or those that are unreasonable towards learning the truth or in flat denial of what She has provided in Her Word to mankind.

Deuteronomy 28:61 "The LORD will also inflict you with every sickness and plague not recorded in the book of this law, until you are destroyed."

Father, unlike Satan is not one to be toyed with. In comparison to the Father's ability to cause pain, Satan is on a scale level of "1" and barely in a position to duplicate Father's ability other than what power She permits him. Being against Father is a form of lunacy.

Deuteronomy 29:22 "Future generations of your children who follow you and the foreigner who comes from a distant country will see the plagues of the land and the sicknesses the LORD has inflicted on it."

Father believes in giving positive proof of Her existence, Her warnings to follow Her with fear if you do not understand the love of truth that She expects, and She gives a sign for those that view Her past conduct so that they might turn to Her for salvation through Christ Jesus or expect the same treatment.

Deuteronomy 32:24 "They will be weak from hunger, ravaged by pestilence and bitter plague; I will unleash on them wild beasts with fangs, as well as venomous snakes that slither in the dust."

For the resisters, no food, the ravage of pestilence, and almost always associated with a plague to get their attention 😉 "venomous snakes that slither in the dust" are due justice for those that follow the Serpent's lead, and "wild beasts with fangs" are just part of the terror one can expect for being a resister.

Mile wide UFO seen by British pilots
Tuesday, 30 June 2009
Macedonian International News Agency

One of the largest UFOs ever seen has been observed by the crew and passengers of an airliner over the Channel Islands. An official air-miss report on the incident several weeks ago appears in Pilot magazine. Aurigny Airlines captain Ray Bowyer, 50, described what he thought to be a UFO as 'a cigar-shaped brilliant white light', similar to the image supplied by Dennis Plunket of the British Flying Saucer bureau As the plane got closer the captain viewed it through binoculars and said: "It was a very sharp, thin yellow object with a green area. "It was 2,000ft up and stationary. I thought it was about 10 miles away, although I later realised it was approximately 40 miles from us. At first, I thought it was the size of a [Boeing] 737. "But it must have been much bigger because of how far away it was. It could have been as much as a mile wide."

Pictured: UFO spotted over theme park in Virginia

Is it or isn't it? Look closely at these pictures and video to make up your own mind. But Denna Smith, a writer in the U.S., says she knows what she saw. She believes that the circle she caught on camera floating in the sky above the Kings Dominion theme park in Virginia is a space ship. Officials at the park insisted the ring was simply smoke from the nearby Volcano ride. But Ms Smith was not buying it. The ring is well-formed and is not smoky, she pointed out. 'We were like what is that, we were all stopped and we were astonished.'

Idaho UFO makes two 'crash-like' maneuvers; hovers low over field
July 3, 2009

There may be multiple witnesses to this June 30 UFO sighting, as reported from an Idaho witness who was driving and saw what he first thought was an airplane about to crash, according to witness testimony from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) database. “It was going so fast towards the ground and then stopped abruptly,” the witness wrote. The object then hovered momentarily, and took off into the sky again. Then it moved at a high rate of speed toward the ground again as though it was going to crash, but stopped again. The witness continued driving toward the object until the object was very close. The witness says the object on close inspection had a series of blue and white lights and was hovering 3 to 4 feet over a field, before flying right by the witness. The witness also observed other vehicles had pulled over behind his vehicle and were watching the object as well.

Quiet chevron-shaped UFO low over Missouri makes three appearances
July 3, 2009

The UFO Traffic Report for Friday, July 3, 2009, includes 11 selected sightings over eight states, according to witness statements filed in the past 48 hours with the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) database. Today's stories include: Two cases over Missouri and Arizona where witnesses claim similarities to the Phoenix Lights case; typical Bright Light cases over Colorado and Missouri; a low flying Orb over Florida; disc or circular objects over California and New York; low flying cigar-shaped objects over California and Pennsylvania; and a retired National Guardsman who describes an unusual Bright Light. Jennifer McCoy from the Ye Olde UFO Store in Sedona, Arizona, says they've had some amazing UFO activity there. During their nightly tours with generation 3 night vision goggles. Unexplained craft and other unusual activity has been seen. Check out their web site, that includes a Blog about these experiences.

Disc UFO appears in Colorado photo
July 4, 2009

A photo was taken in Colorado along Route 470 at 6:50 p.m. on July 27, where a disc-shaped object appeared in the clouds, according to witness testimony from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) database. The photographer reports that the object was not seen at the time the photo was taken, but like many other reports of this kind, the object was not noticed until the image was moved to and viewed on a computer. The anomaly appears to be disc-shaped with a dark edge to the object.

Decriminalization of homosexuality triggers hot debate in India
China View
July 4, 2009

NEW DELHI, July 4 (Xinhua) — A large number of Indians, including gay rights activists, have welcomed decriminalization of homosexuality in the country, with some hailing a national capital court judgement on the issue as a "landmark verdict". Delhi High Court has ruled that homosexual sex between consenting adults is not a criminal act, overturning a 149-year-old British colonial law which described a same-sex relationship as an "unnatural offence". Scrapping Section 377 of the Indian Penal Code this week, the court ruled that the law outlawing homosexual acts was discriminatory and a "violation of fundamental rights". "The ruling is a huge step forward. It is fantastic. I hope the government of India accepts the Delhi High Court decision. In one way it changes nothing –there are many gay couples in India anyway. In another way, it changes everything," prominent gay rights activist Vikram Doctor said. Well, prominent Indian fashion designer Rohit Bal was overwhelmed. "It's a very dark area…I know politicians, ministers who are gay. The Article 377 doesn't matter anymore. No one really cares," he said.

See how government 'fixed' hazards of infectious waste
World Net Daily
by Chelsea Schilling
June 29, 2009

Contaminated needles and scalpels, bloodied bandages, unused prescription drugs, soiled hospital garments, radioactive waste and refuse tainted with infectious disease: These are only a few items that may be discarded on a curbside, abandoned in a nearby lake or piled in a dumpster headed for the local landfill. Some say Americans are simply oblivious to the imminent risk of major hazards and contagions spreading throughout their communities at any given time. Former Rep. Richard Pombo, R-Calif., grew concerned about medical waste hauling after Sept. 11. He told WND that 15 years ago, the nation's hospitals incinerated much of the infectious waste on site. However, the Environmental Protection Agency mandated strict guidelines for incinerators after concerns about air pollution, forcing most hospitals to hire outside personnel to haul medical waste away. "What happened was that most hospitals and most doctors' offices started going off site because they had no other way of treating it on site," Pombo said. "So this industry was born that picked up medical waste and took it to a centralized site. Those centralized sites are sometimes several hundred miles away from the doctor's office or the hospital where they're picking this stuff up."

‘Largest Marine offensive since Vietnam’
by Daniel Tencer
July 2, 2009

One day after U.S. troops officially vacated Iraqi cities, handing control over security to the Iraqis themselves for the first time since 2003, America’s “other war” has been ramped up significantly. According to breaking media reports, some 4,000 Marines and 650 Afghan troops are involved in a massive operation, launched early Thursday morning, to reclaim the Helmand River Valley from Taliban control. The BBC News website cites “officers on the ground” who say this is the “largest Marine offensive since Vietnam.” The Washington Post reports that U.S. forces descended on Helmand province in helicopters and armored convoys. The sparsely-populated, arid area lost its government services after the Taliban evicted government officials and police officers.

Jobless rate seen rising to 9.6 percent
USA Today
July 2, 2009

WASHINGTON (AP) — Out-of-work with no place to land, the legions of America's unemployed are growing. The Labor Department is scheduled to release a report Thursday expected to show the nation's unemployment rate edging closer to double digits. Wall Street economists predict the jobless rate will rise to 9.6% in June from 9.4% in May. That would mark a 26-year high. The rising rate comes as recession-weary companies continue to cut workers. Economists expect a loss of 363,000 jobs in June, up from 345,000 job cuts in May. Economists believe a chunk of those cuts will be tied to shutdowns at General Motors Corp. and fallout from the troubled auto industry. Still, if economists' forecasts are correct, it would be consistent with the belief that the worst of employers' payrolls cuts have occurred. Companies are expected to keep shedding jobs through the rest of this year, but economists hope the pace will continue to taper off. "Employers were very quick to pull the trigger on job cuts last year, and most of the biggest cuts are behind us. But companies are going to be very cautious about hiring," said economist Ken Mayland, president of ClearView Economics.

Warning: Britain faces new recession
The Independent
by Sean O' Grady
June 30, 2009

The world's central bankers have warned that the British economy faces relapsing into another recession – the much-feared "double dip" downturn. A continuing drought in bank lending, evidenced in the latest figures from the Bank of England, and the threat that spiralling public borrowing will feed through to higher interest rates and inflation, are judged by international economists to be mortal dangers to a sustained recovery. The Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), which comprises the 30 most advanced economies in the world, added to the gloom, saying that Britain remained "deep" in recession and faced a "bleak short-term outlook". "The recovery is likely to be slow and unemployment is expected to climb significantly," it said, adding that the Treasury could do "considerably more" to fix the public finances.

Crop Circle Watch

Knoll Down (2), nr Beckhampton, Wiltshire. Reported 28th June

Field Report: I visited the Knoll Down formation, found in one of the many glorious landscapes we're lucky to have in crop circle country, in the mid-evening of the 28th and found the flattening of the young wheat crop in an early recovery stage. The land having been recently water and sunned, along with the breezy hillside location, probably helped. On my flying visit to the second formation at Knoll Down, I found no astounding energies or warmth around the splayed centre and showed signs of some physical damage in the nature of some of the bends. – Robert Armstrong

Knoll Down (3), nr Beckhampton, Wiltshire. Reported 28th June

Field Report: It took two days of upping and downing tram lines to find this beautiful gentle, peaceful energy spiral. There is no way a human would be able to step inside without it appearing instantly trashed. So, I have no idea how the person in the aerial shot got there. It is an unusual crop, flaxseed I understand, although it looks like tall bluebells, gently forming the spiral by weightless field fairies:) This circle is phenomenal, literally laid down, stem by stem, showing no obvious signs of damage with the 'flattened' area, being at the most, 2 stems wide. I took my pictures, laying down on tram line and peering through, as this formation is far too delicate to go walking around. One of which is the standing stems, which hide the first outer spiral, it is that difficult to spot! – JIC (Jane) Rainbows

UPDATE – Below Milk Hill (3), nr Alton Barnes, Wiltshire. Reported 21st June

Waden Hill (2), nr Avebury, Wiltshire. Reported 1st July

Field Report: On approaching the location on Friday afternoon, I was struck by the wonder of Silbury Hill. Usually I see it from the Long Barrow direction. The view of the sacred mound from the path to this formation was impressive and I managed to take some good photographs of it. On entering the formation I was taken by the peace and tranquillity that I felt. It was good to see Cosmic Dave again, after meeting him last Sunday in the formation at Southfield, but apart from Cosmic there was nobody else around. All I could hear in the warm sun was the sound of the Starlings overhead. This formation lacks the vastness of some of the recent ones, but makes no mistake it is impressive in its own right. On the surface it seems to be a simple design, compared to the recent formations but I thought it had many intricacies. On entering, the crop was crunchy underfoot and I assume there hadn’t been too many visitors. The sweeping lay on the outside was in a clockwise direction. It wasn’t completely flat there were lots of curves throughout and there seemed to be a lovely ‘artistic’ feel to it. The lay in the paths between the ‘tadpoles’ was flowing smoothly and alternated between flowing towards the centre and then flowing away from the centre before joining the outer section. In the centre was a circle of standing crop and the surrounding crop was laid neatly in a clockwise direction around it. I checked for anomalies and I couldn’t see any of significance. I checked certain areas carefully and I did see these white ‘chip’ marks that seem to occur in some of the formations. Usually, I can find a few of them together on adjacent stems and they are parallel. I would be interested to know if these are of any significance or are they merely a natural phenomenon. Another observation I made was that next to the standing crop at the centre were a few stalks that had appeared to be cut. I assume they were not broken as it seems to too 'clean' to be broken (see photograph) and I couldn't seen any broken stems nearby. Perhaps the stems had been cut for a souvenir – thought I'd mention it as I've seen this before. There was a warm and powerful energy to this formation and the nearby views of Silbury Hill and the ‘Avenue’ are also very special. – Mike Callahan

Milk Hill (6), Nr Stanton St Bernard, Wiltshire. Reported 2nd July

Field Report: I visited the ‘Humming Bird’, after visiting the formation at Waden Hill. It’s fascinating how each formation has its’ own energy and style. This one is much more vast and very near to some other impressive formations. When I visited this on Friday afternoon, there were a few people there. Again, it was great to meet and chat with others who I’d met over the last few months. The first thing that I noticed was that the crop was very flat. Much more so than Waden hill. Perhaps because of more visitors? Perhaps to create a more ‘holographic’ or shimmering effect? Also, I was surprised that there seemed so many straight lines as from the photographs I had expected to see more curves. Personally, I felt that it had an almost ‘mechanical’ feel to it. Again, perhaps I felt this after coming from Waden Hill. I walked clock wise with the flow around the outside. Although, I had previously seen photographs of the ‘Hummingbird’, it reminded me of an Angel with its wings outstretched. The circles at the end of the ‘wings’ were neat and swirled in a clockwise direction. Generally, the lay was neat and very flat. I checked out the large areas beneath the ‘wings’. It was interesting that they seemed to have been created in three distinct stages and the direction of the lay changed direction for each one. I hope my photographs show this. The circles in the crop that are visible from the air are not as obvious at ground level and it does indeed create an almost ‘holographic’ feel to the formation. I await with anticipation the interpretation of this latest offering. – Mike Callahan

West Down Gallops, nr Beckhampton, Wiltshire. Reported 4th July

Field Report: I managed to get to this one on Saturday morning, so I assume I was one of the first people in. I hadn’t seen an aerial photograph of the formation, if I had I would have looked at one or two features more closely. I noticed the formation from the lay-by on the A4 as I approached the Yatesbury turning. I turned around and parked on the Devizes road near the field I thought it would be in. The formation can’t be seen from the road and it took me quite a while to find the right tramlines to lead up to the formation. In fact I ended up walking quite a way around the outside of the field in order to access via tram lines. On entering the formation, I had little idea of what it depicted. The general lay was in a clockwise direction, although in parts in went the opposite way. I have seen much neater this season and there was quite a lot of standing crop in certain parts. As I walked around the outside I saw some swirled circles with standing crop in the middle. At ground level it appeared to be quite scruffy in parts and the nature of the lay was inconsistent. Having looked at the aerial shots I am amazed at what it looks like. How the ‘circlemakers’ (I use this term to include all possibilities) know the effect that certain features will create is very clever indeed, to say the least! After spending some time in there I was beginning to get a sense of what it was and how vast it was. I bumped into ‘Luke’ who I often meet in various formations and he thought it resembled a ‘stingray’. The ‘tail’ is certainly impressive. I didn’t notice any nodal anomalies etc but did see the white ‘chip’ marks. Does anyone know what causes these? Is it a natural feature of growth? (see photographs of this formation and in my previous reports). At ground level, I walked away slightly disappointed. I thought it lacked the fluidity and artistic nature of other formations. It appeared messy and scruffy. Also, I had developed a head ache in the formation. However, as I have stated, on seeing the aerial shots I feel absolutely amazed and somewhat humbled! – Mike Callahan

In China, parents mourn children abducted by traffickers
by James Pomfret and Venus Wu
June 28, 2009

DONGGUAN (Reuters) – In the quiet village of Shang Di, wedged among factory towns in southern China, Deng Huidong wheels out a dusty two-seater tricycle that her 9-month-old son rode the day he was abducted outside her family house in 2007. Little Ruicong, who was snatched by men in a white van as he played in an alleyway, hasn't been seen since. He is one of hundreds, perhaps thousands of children who go missing in China each year, victims of roving criminal gangs preying on vulnerable areas. "My heart is bleeding," said Deng as she cried beside a framed photograph of her son splashing in a bath tub. "I just want to find my son. Every time I see a child, it reminds me of my son and I wonder whether I will see him again."

Grieving Jackson Fans 'Commit Suicide'
Sky News

Gary Taylor, president and owner of, said he understood the tragedies had mostly taken place outside of the UK but he believed one may have been British. "I know there has been an increase, I now believe the figure is 12. I believe there may have been one Briton who has taken their life," he said. "It is a serious situation that these people are going through but Michael Jackson would never want this. He would want them to live." Jesse Jackson, a friend of the singer, has recorded a YouTube film on the site urging fans not to "self destruct". He said: "This is a time when hearts are heavy. There is great pain but great cause to celebrate Michael's life. "It made Michael happy saying 'We Are The World'. Don't self destruct.

Child abuse ring involving more than 2,000 people uncovered
June 28, 2009

A spokeswoman for federal police said authorities were monitoring a website with a provider in the Swiss canton Vaud, acting on a tip from Interpol. She said the site was devoted to hip-hop music. But unknown individuals used a forum on the site to hide illegal child pornography films. The spokeswoman confirmed a Swiss newspaper report that the investigation involved people from the US, Poland, Greece and other countries. SonntagsZeitung reported on Sunday that 32 men were under suspicion in Switzerland.

Cops: Woman takes kneeling woman's cash in church
New York Post
June 29, 2009

WESTBURY, N.Y. (AP) — Nassau County police said a congregant at a Long Island church disregarded at least one of its commandments: Thou shalt not steal. Police said the 46-year-old woman reached over a pew and took cash from a purse while its owner knelt Sunday at Our Lady of Hope Roman Catholic Church in Westbury. Police said an usher saw the theft, and officers stopped the woman as she left the church. Police said they determined the same woman stole cash from another worshipper's purse while that victim took communion May 10. The woman has been released on an appearance ticket after being arrested on petit larceny charges. She faces up to a year in jail if convicted. A telephone message left at the church wasn't immediately returned. The woman's phone rang unanswered.

Gay Pride Parade sizzles in San Francisco
by Demian Bulwa
June 29, 2009

Carrying rainbow flags and "legalize gay" signs, legions of people packed downtown San Francisco on a hot Sunday to see the 39th installment of a parade that, all these years later, still combines steel-jawed outrage over discrimination with bountiful optimism. They call it the San Francisco Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender Pride Parade – a title that, despite its considerable length, may not fully describe the exuberant procession that pulsed down Market Street toward City Hall. Participants steered motorcycles and classic cars, danced on elaborate floats wearing formal gowns or skimpy underwear, and walked on stilts or behind simple banners. Rodeo cowboys and cowgirls rode a mechanical bull, while "Mistress Liliane" was pulled in a pony cart by a leather-clad submissive. All said they were in the mood to party – to celebrate – despite a difficult year that included the state's voter-approved ban on same-sex marriage in November, not to mention then-Miss California Carrie Prejean's famous support for it. The theme of this year's parade: "To form a more perfect union."

Signs in Natural Disasters
“You are going to hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not alarmed, because these things must take place, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise up against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places.” Matthew 24:6-7

Dust from South Australia blankets southeast Queensland
The Courier-Mail
Robyn Ironside
July 02, 2009

UPDATE: A THICK haze caused by a dust storm in South Australia two days ago has blanketed Brisbane for several hours. Thousands of tonnes of topsoil from SA's north are being blown across southern Queensland by "vigorous" westerly winds. Asthmatics have been warned to stay indoors until the dust subsides as dust may still be lingering in the air and cause them to have an asthma attack. Ipswich councillor Paul Tully said while the dust died down for a while it seemed as though another wave was moving across. Mt Crosby was no longer visible from Goodna, he said. "This is one of the worst dust storms in southeast Queensland for many years.", he said.

Series of quakes shake Hualien
Liberty Times

Taiwan’s East Coast Hualien district was hit by 22 earthquakes June 28, the largest with a magnitude of 5.6 striking 19.8 kilometers northeast of the Hualien Xiulin seismological sensing station. Kuo Kai-wen, director of the Central Weather Bureau’s Seismology Center, said this main shock brought with it a series of foreshocks and aftershocks. According to Kuo, the earthquakes were caused by the Philippine Sea and Eurasian tectonic plates squeezing together. He explained that the grinding point between the two plates moves northwest by about 8 centimeters each year. Hualien’s temblors were an example of accumulated energy in the earth’s crust being released when it encountered an earthquake fault. Professor Chen Hong-ey of National Taiwan University’s Geology Department stated that continued observation will be necessary to determine whether or not the 5.6 magnitude tremor was the main shock, as it is still possible for quakes of even greater magnitude to appear.

Landslides Kill 15 In Nepal Villages
July 3, 2009
Siddique Islam – AHN Correspondent

Katmandu, Nepal (AHN) – At least 15 people have killed and two more have gone missing in separate land-slide related incidents in various parts of Nepal caused by incessant rainfall from the past few days. A landslide has buried several houses in a remote mountain village in the country's western Bajura district on Wednesday, killing at least nine people, a local official confirmed on Thursday. Three members of a family died when a house was swept away by a mud-slide at Deurali village under Kaski district. Kaski District, a part of Gandaki Zone, is one of the seventy-five districts of Nepal, a landlocked country of South Asia. On the other hand, three minors died after being buried inside their home after a mudslide swept it away in remote Mugu district on Wednesday night.

Tragedy as freak storms hit Cumbria
By Linzi Watson and Pam McClounie
June 29, 2009

Freak weather including "tornadoes" and flash floods hit Cumbria at the weekend. Related: Cumbrian fisherman missing after flash floods And with a heatwave on the way, forecasters are warning of more unusual weather. This week will see the unprecedented weather continue with a heat wave set to start today. Tina Richardson, landlord of the Miners Arms in Prospect, spotted the strange sight in the Aspatria skyline last night. She told the News & Star: “It was about 4.30pm when I looked out of the bar window and saw the tornado. “I rushed outside with some customers to see it. “I couldn’t believe my eyes at first, it was quite big but there was no noise. It was really eerie. “I have never seen anything like this before and never expected to in Cumbria. “We watched it for around 15 minutes as it seemed to move to the left and then disappeared.” A spokesman for the Met Office explained that a “meeting of winds” caused the heavy storms, seen on Saturday and yesterday afternoon.

Phivolcs monitoring Mayon Volcano
As residents report brighter crater glow
By Rey M. Nasol
Inquirer Southern Luzon

LEGAZPI CITY, Philippines—Observations of residents living near Mayon Volcano have prompted the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) to closely monitor the volcano for possible danger signs. “We have observed that the crater glow has become brighter and very much visible to the naked eye in the past few days compared to previous months,” said Emma Luminao, a resident of the village of Kilicao, in the town of Daraga, Albay. But Phivolcs has yet to assess the condition of Mayon after conducting an aerial survey and monitoring the seismic activity around the volcano before raising or lowering the alert level, resident volcanologist Eduardo Laguerta told the Philippine Daily Inquirer in a phone interview. Phivolcs maintains Alert Level 1 over Mayon Volcano and is reminding the seven-kilometer danger zone at the southeastern flank and the six-kilometer permanent danger zone in other areas remain off-limits.

TAIWAN – As many as 18 earthquakes struck the eastern county of Hualien yesterday, with the tremors ranging from 3.8 to 5.6 on the Richter Scale. There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage. The pattern of the earthquakes was a RARE TYPE, with several foreshocks occurring before a main quake takes place and followed by some aftershocks. The strongest quake was felt throughout the island, causing buildings to sway in the capital Taipei. The center points of most of the earthquakes were less than one kilometer away from each other.

NEW ZEALAND – Residents of Waihi Viillage are barred from their homes until Friday due to fears of a landslide after a swarm of earthquakes and increased geothermal activity. A no-go area is likely to be imposed on the southwest edge of Lake Taupo later today because of the threat of a major landslide above Waihi Village. Residents were temporarily allowed back in this morning to feed pets, fetch personal belongings and pray in the church. Two more earthquakes shook the central North Island last night but there has been no major reports of damage. This morning at about 4.50am an earthquake measuring 2.9 on the Richter scale at a depth of 5km shook the area, while at about 8.40pm last night a 2.8-magnitude earthquake at a depth of 3km was felt. Civil Defence and Emergency Management staff intend to conduct an aerial survey this afternoon. Senior technicians from GNS Science are also monitoring the area. There was concern that more earthquakes might dislodge boulders and trees, causing water to build up in blocked streams. Waihi Village residents reported tremors and large boulders coming loose in streams above the village. Cracks had appeared in marae walls and hot water springs had been found on the lake edge. People living nearby in Tokaanu had reported cracked windows and foundations, shelves rattling, and paint and plaster coming off walls. Bird life had disappeared. A stream mouth at the village, near a waterfall, had shifted 40 to 50 metres. There were some reports of streams drying up and of other spots where streams started to flow where there were none before. Two large earthquakes on Saturday, measuring 4.3 and 4.4 magnitude, were the BIGGEST RECORDED IN THE AREA IN THE PAST 10 TO 15 YEARS. A swarm of hundreds of small earthquakes had been recorded in the area in the past seven days. The historic village is on a seismic fault line in an area of known instability near the Hipaua Cliffs geothermal area at the southwest corner of Lake Taupo. Sixty people were killed in the village after a landslide in 1846.

HAWAII – The earthquake that shook Maui on Sunday night was the MOST POWERFUL TO ORIGINATE UNDER THE ISLAND IN MORE THAN FIVE YEARS, but no damage was reported. The quake's magnitude was 3.5. The last time an earthquake of similar size originated here was April 4, 2008, when a 3.1-magnitude temblor was located 1.8 miles northwest of Paia. Sunday's quake was located on the southern flank of Haleakala between Kaupo and Kipahulu. The last destructive earthquake, a 6.7-magnitude shock on Oct. 15, 2006, originated in Kiholo Bay on the Big Island. It did more than $100 million in damage, including to bridges in East Maui, resulting in the closure of Piilani Highway for years. The difference in power between a 3.5 quake and the 6.7 quake is not a factor of two. The larger quake was about 30,000 times as powerful as Sunday's quake.

People across the U.S. and Europe have been reporting UNUSUAL SUNSETS, possibly the result of the June 12 eruption of Russia's Sarychev Peak volcano. The eruption sent plumes of sulfur dioxide and other debris into the atmosphere, which spread to the United States and Europe. When the sun goes down, delicate ripples of white appear over the western horizon. Then, as the twilight deepens, the sky turns a telltale shade of "volcanic lavender." Earth-orbiting satellites are monitoring Sarychev's sulfur dioxide plume as it circumnavigates the globe at high latitudes, spreading the phenomenon from Russia to the USA to Europe and back again. All northern sky watchers should be alert for volcanic sunsets.

HAWAII – A major collapse with a series of large rock falls at Kilauea volcano's Halemaumau crater summit vent this week has dimmed the luminous evening glow that had attracted thousands of visitors.

ETHIOPIA – Volcano eruption in the Afar region reported. Thermal anomalies and dense sulphur dioxide plumes in Ethiopia appear to indicate that a significant effusive eruption has taken place in the Manda Hararo area of the western Afar region. There is as yet no visual confirmation of the eruption from the ground. There was a VEI=2 eruption at the Manda Hararo volcanic complex in August 2007, and a larger eruption in the Alu-Dalaffilla region in November 2008. In terms of size, the current Manda Hararo event seems to lie somewhere between the two. The MODIS thermal alerts service at the University of Hawaii has shown hotspots of varying intensity over a considerable area of the Manda Hararo region since 27 June, while the OMI Sulfur Dioxide Group has mapped considerable SO2 emissions on 29 and 30 June.

BANGLADESH – One month after cyclone Aila struck Bangladesh and the eastern Indian state of West Bengal, people continue to suffer from ongoing floods during high tide. Shelter, drinking water, food and sanitation are badly needed. People in remote areas have reportedly still not received any help. Around 75,000 people in Bangladesh and 15,000 people in India are affected by the aftermath of the cyclone. The floodwater destroyed houses, livestock, shrimp farms and agricultural lands. People live in makeshift shelters on the remaining parts of the embankments. Some villages continue to get flooded twice a day during high tide. “People are up to their necks in the water. Houses are either destroyed or flooded, most people can’t sleep dry. With the monsoon arriving very soon, shelter is one of the main priorities."

June free of Atlantic tropical storms, hurricanes
– Of the six months that comprise Atlantic Basin Hurricane Season, June is statistically the "quietest" month – the one least likely to have tropical storm. Only 79 Atlantic basin systems have reached minimal tropical storm strength in June since 1851.

INDIA – At least 18 people, including six children, were killed after they were struck by lightning in the east Indian state of Bihar.

UNITED KINGDOM – FREAK WEATHER including "tornadoes" and flash floods hit Cumbria at the weekend. And with a heatwave on the way, forecasters are warning of more UNUSUAL WEATHER. This week will see the UNPRECEDENTED weather continue.

QATAR – UNUSUAL winds were probably to blame for the sinking of a utility vessel with 35 on board near Doha. Five survivors have been rescued so far, and five bodies pulled from the sea. The surviving captain had braved “three big swells” amid 25-knot winds before the ship, Demas Victory, capsized about 10 nautical miles from the coast of Doha. The survivors had been either in the wheelhouse or on the deck when the vessel went over, and at least three were wearing life jackets. The Demas Victory was entering Doha port when the swells began. It was about 6.30am, and the seamen were either sleeping or had just sat down for breakfast. “Due to bad weather, the port asked the captain to go to the anchorage, and anchor there for safety. IN THREE MINUTES’ TIME, the vessel fully sank.” Search-and-rescue teams from the Qatar navy and the Doha Port Authority were continuing to comb the area yesterday. The 34-metre-long Demas Victory was built in 1979 but was in “perfect condition” after being fully re-serviced in Dubai in January.

CALIFORNIA – Divers warned of strange current off La Jolla Shores. In more than 700 scuba dives off La Jolla Shores, Terry Strait had never encountered a deep-water current like the one that slammed into him and his buddies Wednesday morning about 250 yards from the beach. As the four divers swam roughly 60 feet below the surface along the edge of La Jolla Canyon, they noticed a wall of sand rushing toward them from the southwest. “The current was really pushing us. We tried to swim lateral to it but couldn't get out of it. They held onto the edge of the cliff to avoid being pushed farther out to sea. The group slowly swam against the flow toward the surface and finally broke free at a depth of 15 feet. The STRANGE AND PREVIOUSLY UNKNOWN CURRENT occurred in a normally placid area of water, said lifeguards and a marine expert. It was noticed by other divers in the area over several hours starting around 6 a.m., but not by swimmers on the surface of the water. Though no one was injured by the flow, lifeguards at the beach cautioned divers about the current. “It seems like it was a relatively short-lived event." Strait said years of diving experience helped him and the others in his group stay level-headed during Wednesday's incident. “If a new diver had been out there, they would have freaked." The current puzzled divers and lifeguards. “It certainly wasn't something that lifeguards have heard about. I have no idea how it could occur.” A scientist came up with a theory after reviewing reports of wave patterns and weather conditions during the flow. He quickly eliminated three possibilities – an avalanche of sand in the canyon, an extreme upwelling event triggered by strong northerly winds, or a sudden movement of water caused by a big change in atmospheric pressure. During normal current patterns, waves move up the coast from the south. Point La Jolla, which juts into the Pacific Ocean, serves as a natural breaker that largely protects the north-lying La Jolla Bay from those waves. But the wave track shifted slightly Wednesday morning – coming more from the southwest. The change was enough to allow waves to wrap around Point La Jolla and move into the bay, where they collided with a large pool of sedentary water that bounced the waves back out to sea. “The intensity of this event was probably produced by a group of very big waves.”

AUSTRALIA – Melbourne suffers DRIEST YEAR SINCE 1969. Melbourne has endured its driest first half of the year in more than four decades, with just 126.2mm of rain falling from January to June.

BRITAIN is in the grip of a heatwave with parts of the country sweltering to the HOTTEST TEMPERATURES IN THREE YEARS – and forecasters predicted the heat will continue.

NORWAY – Southern Norway is in its second week of a heatwave, with daytime temperatures up around 30C, and the Met Office has issued forest fire warnings for the whole region south of Trondheim, and in particular in the east. On Sunday the maximum temperature at the Met Office in Oslo was measured at 31.3C, and the forecast says there will be more of the same the whole week, possibly interspersed with a few cooling thundershowers here and there in the afternoon. Beaches are crowded, and there have unfortunately been a few fatal drowning accidents this past weekend.

INDIA – A blistering heatwave in the Indian capital of New Delhi has triggered RECORD POWER AND WATER SHORTAGES, leading to widespread demonstrations. Thousands of angry protesters have blocked roads and attacked the offices of electricity companies. Dozens of people have died from heat stroke as temperatures soar and residents endure power cuts for up to 12 hours a day. The capital has recorded its highest ever demand for electricity and the system has been unable to cope. Many others have been without regular water supplies for almost a week. Some middle class residents have been sleeping in their air-conditioned cars each night to escape the heat. Temperatures in the mid-40s have gone on and on, crippling the city's infrastructure. Yesterday, Delhi's Chief Minister called an emergency meeting with power suppliers. She admits there has been a complete breakdown and the situation is grim. Hit by drought for the fourth successive year and fed up of the government’s apathy to their woes, thousands of farmers of Chhattarpur block in Jharkhand’s Palamau district have launched a signature campaign seeking “mercy killing” from the President. “In the 2006 drought, farmers sold their bullock cart, goats and other things. In 2007, we sold our piece of land. In the 2008 drought, we were forced to sell the jewellery of our wives. Now what should we sell in the 2009 drought. Should we sell ourselves? We may have been deprived to lead a respectable life but we should be allowed a respectable death." “Chhattarpur block farmers are facing successive drought since 2006. This area lacks basic facilities like irrigation, health facilities, food security. Our crops were destroyed due to scanty rainfall and we did not get crop insurance money.” Besides drawing attention to basic things unavailable in the area, the letter also expresses unhappiness over the indifferent attitude of the government officials towards pending irrigation projects. The governor said, “The government is serious about addressing the concerns of the farmers and no one will be allowed to die due to the drought.” Chhattarpur block, one of the most backward areas of Jharkhand, is facing a drought-like situation this year too. The monsoon is yet to arrive in the state. Palamau region, which falls under the rain shadow area, has been declared drought-hit for five years. The maximum temperature in Palamau has been recorded at 46.2 degrees Celsius (115.6 Fahrenheit) this year.

NORTH DAKOTA – The spring and summer weather this year has been UNUSUAL in Stutsman County. Back in April, most of North Dakota was concerned with flooding and high water. Now, on the first day of July, Stutsman County has not yet had to activate its severe weather warning system. “It’s VERY RARE that we have not had a severe thunderstorm warning for Stutsman County so far this year. Normally we might have had a dozen by this point.”

CHINA is bracing for extreme weather, with strong gales and scorching heat in recent weeks serving as harbingers of disasters to come, state media said on Tuesday. Since the 1990s China has experienced a steadily growing trend of weather-related calamities, such as droughts, storms and floods, with experts saying global warming is partly to blame. 'Extreme weather will be more frequent in the future due to the INSTABILITY OF THE ATMOSPHERE, and global warming might be the indirect cause.' Last year, the administration responded to 16 weather-related emergencies, the HIGHEST NUMBER IN SIX DECADES. This year could prove equally hazardous, with weather in different parts of China registering various forms of extremes in recent weeks. The eastern province of Anhui was hit twice by intense storms in June, killing 37 people, while parts of north China are now seeing temperatures as high as 40 deg C. The changing weather patterns do not just take a toll in terms of human lives but are also immensely costly. In the period from 2004 until 2008, extreme weather caused average annual costs of 244 billion yuan (S$52 billion), up from an average of 176 billion yuan in the 1990s.

AUSTRALIA – A thick haze caused by a dust storm in South Australia two days ago has blanketed Brisbane for several hours. Thousands of tonnes of topsoil from SA's north are being blown across southern Queensland by "vigorous" westerly winds. "This is ONE OF THE WORST DUST STORMS IN MANY YEARS in southeast Queensland." While the dust died down for a while it seemed as though another wave was moving across. The dust haze descended upon parts of western Queensland yesterday and will continue in the southeast corner for most of today. The dust was affecting visibility to varying degrees across southern Queensland.

Climate change is causing a breed of wild sheep in Scotland to shrink, according to research. Scientists say milder winters help smaller sheep to survive, resulting in this "paradoxical decrease in size". Classic evolutionary theory would predict that wild sheep gradually get bigger, as the stronger, larger animals survive into adulthood and reproduce. Since 1985, the sheep have decreased in size by 5% – their legs getting steadily shorter and their body weight decreasing. This strange phenomenon was first reported in 2007, but the reason for it remained under debate. "In the past, only the big, healthy sheep and large lambs that had piled on weight in their first summer could survive the harsh winters on Hirta." Because of climate change, grass for food is now available for more months of the year on the island. "Survival conditions are not so challenging – even the slower growing sheep have a chance of making it, and this means smaller individuals are becoming increasingly prevalent in the population." As for the future of the sheep, the team believes that they are still shrinking. "But it's too early to say if, in 100 years, we will have chihuahuas herding pocket-sized sheep."

Space rocks that explode in the atmosphere are now classified. – For 15 years, scientists have benefited from data gleaned by U.S. classified satellites of natural fireball events in Earth's atmosphere – but no longer. A recent U.S. military policy decision now explicitly states that observations by hush-hush government spacecraft of incoming bolides and fireballs are classified secret and are not to be released. The satellites' main objectives include detecting nuclear bomb tests, and their characterizations of asteroids and lesser meteoroids as they crash through the atmosphere has been a byproduct data bonanza for scientists. "It's baffling to us why this would suddenly change," said one scientist familiar with the work. "It's unfortunate because there was this great synergy…a very good cooperative arrangement. Systems were put into dual-use mode where a lot of science was getting done that couldn't be done any other way. It's a regrettable change in policy." Scientists say not only will research into the threat from space be hampered, but public understanding of sometimes dramatic sky explosions will be diminished, perhaps leading to hype and fear of the unknown. Over the last decade or so, hundreds of these events have been spotted by the classified satellites. Because the world is two-thirds ocean, most incoming objects aren't visible to observers on the ground. Many other incoming space rocks go unnoticed because daylight drowns them out. In the shaky world we now live, it's nice to know that a sky-high detonation is natural versus a nuclear weapon blast. "The fireball data from military or surveillance assets have been of critical importance for assessing the impact hazard." Fireball information played an important part in the story of the small asteroid 2008 TC3. That was the first-ever case of the astronomical detection of a small asteroid before it hit earth in Sudan last year. The fireball data were key for locating the impact point and the subsequent recovery of fragments from this impact. It is ironic that the availability of these fireball data should be curtailed just at the time the NEO program is moving toward surveying the small impactors that are most likely to be picked up in the fireball monitoring program.

Asteroids are the single greatest threat to an individual's life, once averaged out over sufficient time scale. For example, an asteroid that could, say, wipe out just half of earth's population (say, 2.5 billion people) stikes once every X years. So the annual death rate from that size of asteriod is 2.5 billion/X. Combine that with smaller asteroids, and asteroids on a yearly average will kill more people than earthquakes, tornadoes, etc.

Airline passengers imported H1N1 from Mexico – Airline industry data show a high correlation between the start of the H1N1 flu pandemic in various countries and the number of passengers from Mexico that tend to arrive in those countries in March and April. Of the 20 countries that had the highest passenger volume from Mexico in 2007 and 2008, 16 experienced importations of H1N1 from Mexico in 2009; countries that had more than 1,400 such passengers had a "significantly elevated" risk of flu importation.

HHS extends liability shield to antivirals used for H1N1 – The Department of Health and Human Services recently provided a shield against damage claims related to the use of the antiviral drugs oseltamivir (Tamiflu) and zanamivir (Relenza) in the current H1N1 influenza pandemic. Protections are already in place for the two antivirals when used against H5N1 influenza and for vaccines for H5N1 and other potential pandemic flu strains, among other drugs and vaccines. The impulse for PREP Act liability protections has come primarily from the manufacturers of the relevant products. The oseltamivir protection measure was said to not be related to the reports, mainly from Japan, of abnormal behavior in some adolescents who were given the drug.

A federal advisory panel voted narrowly on Tuesday to recommend a ban on Percocet and Vicodin, two of the most popular prescription painkillers in the world, because of their effects on the liver.

ARGENTINA – The city and province of Buenos Aires have announced a health emergency to fight a swine flu outbreak that has killed at least 26 people in Argentina. Officials are being given more power and resources to tackle the epidemic, and school holidays for millions of children are being extended. Argentina has confirmed more than 1,500 cases of swine flu, which is spreading during the southern hemisphere winter. Argentina has had the third largest number of swine flu deaths in the world after Mexico and the United States.

BRITAIN – Londoners are suffering a summer wave of influenza worse than in the last winter flu season after the H1N1 virus caused the rate of illness to quadruple last week.

The world's number of pandemic flu cases rose to 77,201, including 332 deaths. The numbers represent 6,308 more cases and 21 more deaths than the last report on Jun 29. Countries included for the first time are the French overseas territory of New Caledonia, Kenya, Mauritius, Myanmar, and Saint Lucia. About a third of the new cases are from the United Kingdom. South American countries and Thailand also reported large increases.

Flu cluster of pregnant women reported in San Francisco – San Francisco officials reported what they believe may be the first publicized cluster of novel H1N1 infections in pregnant women. All five women remain hospitalized, two of them still in intensive care. A doctor who consulted on the cases said all are or were in their third trimester and that some required intubation. Some had underlying conditions. Pregnant women are among those at high risk for flu complications.

The spread of the swine flu virus worldwide is now unstoppable.  – Most H1N1 cases are mild, with many people recovering unaided. The exceptions were pregnant women and people with underlying health problems. The UK alone was projecting more than 100,000 new cases of H1N1 a day by the end of the summer. As the peak of the flu season approaches in South America, some areas have declared a public health emergency. El Salvador reported its first death from swine flu, a day after Paraguay reported its first fatality. "For a pandemic of moderate severity, this is one of our greatest challenges: helping people to understand when they do not need to worry, and when they do need to seek urgent care."

The United States' number of pandemic flu cases climbed to 33,902, with 170 deaths.
The new totals reflect 6,185 more cases and 43 more deaths than last week. In its new surveillance report today for the week ending Jun 27, the CDC said flu activity decreased but is still higher than normal for this time of year. The New York/New Jersey area is still reporting elevated activity, as is the Pacific Northwest.

The latest global number of new pandemic flu cases is 70,893 cases, including 311 deaths. The new total is an 11,079-case rise from the WHO's last update on Jun 26. The once-weekly update of US cases represents more than half of the new cases. The number of fatalities rose by 48 since the last report. The list includes four countries reporting their first cases: Iraq, Lithuania, Monaco, and Nepal.

Swine flu 'shows drug resistance' – Scientists have established the first case of the new H1N1 influenza strain showing resistance to Tamiflu, the main antiviral flu drug.

The Norwegian health authorities will this fall begin a program of mass vaccination against the A H1N1 flu, also called the swine flu. A total of 9.4 million doses have been ordered from the suppliers. All will be given two innoculations, two weeks apart. So far, only 23 cases of the flu have been diagnosed in Norway, but the authorities expect that the number will increase.

The pandemic vaccine now being produced for the U.S. will require two shots 3 weeks apart to provide full immunity, which could overwhelm state agencies. And children younger than 9 years old will need four shots. "Public health departments are underfunded and will get fatigued." One shot will give at most 20% protection.

UGANDA – Famine has started claiming lives in various parts of the country. Families are starving in the hardest hit areas, with people dying as a result. People are losing weight because of the hunger. The Government was 'aware of the food shortage, but waited for people to die'. Enrollment in schools had dropped by half due to the persistent hunger. About three million people are food insecure. The problem was attributed to climate change. “In some areas rainfall was below normal and came late. This caused stress to crops that had already been planted." Some wondered why the Government had not started an irrigation scheme. The region has depended on food relief since 1964. The Government was accused of not dealing with the real problem. “This is fire fighting. We are treating symptoms. Is that disaster preparedness? Uganda was known as a food basket in the region."

Signs in False Shepherds & False Religion
"For among them are those who worm their way into households and capture idle women burdened down with sins, led along by a variety of passions, always learning and never able to come to a knowledge of the truth. Just as Jannes and Jambres resisted Moses, so these also resist the truth, men who are corrupt in mind, worthless in regard to the faith. But they will not make further progress, for their lack of understanding will be clear to all, as theirs was also." 2 Timothy 3:6-9

Ethiopian church speaks out on Ark of the Covenant
Statement says Ten Commandments box won't be displayed
June 30, 2009

There was considerable confusion last week when the leader of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church apparently told an Italian news agency of an upcoming announcement about the possible public display of the Ark of the Covenant – the box holding the Ten Commandments – and then the prescribed time passed with no word. However, there was no equivocation today in an e-mail received by WND from the webmaster of a church website in response to an inquiry about the truth of the matter. "It is not going to happen so the world has to live with curiosity," said the statement, signed only "Webmaster" in response to the WND inquiry. The webmaster statement described the tempest as being caused either because of a translation mistake or "a slip [of the] tongue from the patriarch." WND reported first when the apparent "revelation" was to be announced and then again later when the scheduled time came and went without word.

Al-Qaida-linked thugs now executing children
Mother watches sons being dragged away
July 1, 2009

An al-Qaida-linked terror group has been identified as the organization that dragged off three children of a Christian father in Somalia and executed two of them by beheading, according to a horrifying new report from Compass Direct News. The Islamic extremists identified as being with a group called al-Shabaab, which has been described by the U.S. State Department as a terrorist organization, attacked the family and killed the boys because their father refused to provide information about a church leader, the report said. "I watched my three boys dragged away helplessly as my youngest boy was crying," said the mother, Batula Ali Arbow. "I knew they were going to be slaughtered." A short time later, 7-year-old Abdulahi Musa Yusuf came running back to his mother, wailing and crying. Dead were his brothers 12-year-old Hussein Musa Yusuf and 11-year-old Abdi Rahaman Musa Yusuf, according to the report.

Russian pagans from ancient cult greet solstice
The Washington Post
July 5, 2009

MALOYAROSLAVETS, Russia — Tambourine throbbing in hand, Velislav chants to gods whose cult has almost been obliterated by a millennium of Christianity in Russia. Several hundred followers wearing linen, ancient Slavic ornaments and flower garlands circle around the high priest to celebrate the summer solstice, in an all-night festivity fought by the Russian Orthodox Church for centuries. The rugged faces of bearded gods and stern goddesses top a temple of upright logs. These are Russia's neo-pagans, whose ranks are estimated in the low thousands. Only a handful of pagan groups are officially registered in this predominantly Orthodox Christian country with sizable Muslim, Buddhist and Jewish minorities. The fractured pagan groups constantly argue about the authenticity of rituals, the hierarchy of priests or the pantheon of gods.

Christian groups join London's Gay Pride festival
July 4, 2009

Christian groups have turned out in strength at today's Pride festival in London, affirming their support for the rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people. A number of Christian organisations ran stalls in Trafalgar Square, while the nearby Anglican church of St Martin's in the Fields raised the rainbow flag from its roof to flutter over the celebrations. “I think there are a lot of Christians at Pride this year” said Pastor Carmen Margarita Sanchez De Leon of the Metropolitan Community Church. “We need to open our Church to everybody”. Similar sentiments were expressed by Ruby Almeida of Quest, a group for lesbian and gay Catholics. She told Ekklesia that it was important for Christian groups to be visible at Pride. “We want people to know we are here and that there's a space for people to talk about their faith and their sexuality” she said.

Obama expected to pull faith-based funding
One News Now
July 1, 2009

Americans United for Separation of Church and State is on the warpath against faith-based grants. The organization has written a letter to Attorney General Eric Holder, complaining of religious groups working their faith into programs that receive the grants for such things as drug rehabilitation or homeless programs. The letter specifically recommends five grants be terminated: Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries (grant amount: ~$490,000); Teen Challenge (Albany, NY) ($47,000); Teen Challenge (Lebanon, IN) ($94,000); Minnesota Teen Challenge ($235,000); and Teen Challenge's New Hope Academy (Factoryville, PA) (~$210,000). In addition, Americans United (AU) suggests that four other grants be "carefully investigated" — Denver Rescue Mission ($282,000); Straight Ahead Ministries (Boston, MA) ($94,000); World Impact Youth Program (St. Louis, MO) ($282,000); and Grace College (Winona Lake, IN) ($1,128,000). All those grants, according to AU, are "constitutionally problematic."

High Court allows Kent school to block Bible club
Komo News
June 29, 2009

SEATTLE (AP) – The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday declined to stop the Kent School District from blocking a group of Christian students from forming a Bible club on a high school campus. The court refused to hear an appeal from the high school students who wanted to form the Truth Bible Club at Kentridge High School in Washington state in 2001. The Associated Student Body council refused to let the group be chartered as a school club. It cited the group's name and the fact that students would have to pledge to Jesus Christ to vote in the club, and it argued that allowing the club would bring religion into the school. The club's would-be founders then sued the Kent School District, claiming discrimination. The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals said the district did not violate the students' First Amendment rights by requiring them to allow all students full membership in their club.

Funeral Held for Christian Killed by Al-Qaeda
CBN News
July 1, 2009

Funeral services were held Tuesday for a U.S. teacher in Mauritania who was shot dead last week by Islamic extremists for spreading Christianity. Christopher Leggett, 39, was killed June 23 in front of the language and computer school he operated in Nouakchott, the capital city. Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb, North African unit of the al-Qaeda terrorist network, claimed responsibility for the murder on an Internet site, accusing Leggett of “missionary activities.” A North African al-Qaeda spokesman aired a statement on an Arab TV station saying the group killed Leggett because he was allegedly trying to convert Muslims to Christianity. Advocacy organization Middle East Concern reported that Leggett “resisted what appeared to be an attempt to kidnap him and was then shot in the head several times by his two assailants.”

Christian woman facing blasphemy charges in Pakistan
Christians Unite
June 30, 2009

( – Thirty-seven-year-old Asia Bibi was recently arrested by police on allegations of blasphemy in the village of Ittanwali, Punjab province, Pakistan. On June 19, some of the Muslim women who work with Bibi on a farm owned by a local Muslim engaged in a heated discussion with Bibi about Islam. Bibi told them that Christ died on the cross for their sins and asked them what Mohammed had done for them. "Our Christ is the true prophet of God and yours is not true," Bibi said. The Muslim women became angry and began to beat her. Some men then locked her in a room. Muslims announced from mosque loudspeakers a plan to punish Bibi by blackening her face and parading her through the village on a donkey. Local Christians informed the police, who took Bibi into custody before the Muslims could carry out their plan. At last report she was being held at a police station in Nankana city and local Christians were urging the police not to file blasphemy charges. However, police claim that they must go forward due to pressure from local Muslim leaders.

Holder: 'Gays' protected, ministers not
Attorney general's testimony on 'hate crimes'
July 3, 2009

U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder says a homosexual activist who is attacked following a Christian minister's sermon about homosexuality would be protected by a proposed new federal law, but a minister attacked by a homosexual wouldn't be. The revelations come from Holder's recent testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee, which was taking comments on the so-called "hate crimes" proposal. It also was the subject of discussion on talk radio icon Rush Limbaugh's show today. "This is the question," Limbaugh said. "[Sen.] Jeff Sessions [R-Ala.] presents a hypothetical where a minister gives a sermon, quotes the Bible about homosexuality and is thereafter attacked … by a gay activist because of what the minister said about his religious beliefs and what Scripture says about homosexuality. Is the minister protected?" No, said Holder.

Christian workers retrenching after aid worker slain
Funeral services held for Leggett as Mauritania danger pegged at high
July 3, 2009

Christian groups working in Mauritania are retrenching following the slaying of an aid worker by an organization reportedly linked to al-Qaida. According to a report from Compass Direct News, a man who had been working in the capital city of Nouakchott reported he and his team were being relocated to an undisclosed European city because of the turmoil. "After the crime various believers were arrested, and the community of workers is going through very tense moments because of another threat by al-Qaida and the lack of security," the aid worker who had sought anonymity told the report. "Our leaders have asked us to leave the country for awhile, as the government had sent a security force of 10 policemen to guard our home 24 hours a day.
