The Sobering Reality of the Spiritual War

In any war there are two sides, and each side feels strongly that they are right. In the Spiritual War we witness the Sons of Light and the Sons of Darkness whose battle had waged for over 6,000 years and in which our side, seeks vindication of Yahweh’s holy name and the establishment of Christ’s Kingdom, while Dawn’s side, seeks a free agency in which they would be able to do anything they please and be free from any restraints and out from under any laws and commands put forth by our Creator.
In their fight against Yahweh, Dawn seeks to be worshiped as a god while slandering Father’s name and outwardly claiming a “love for mankind” in which they work tirelessly to “save” us from Yahweh’s wrath. And just as Dawn attempted to do with Christ in Biblical times, I have recently witnessed them promising a human riches in buried treasure as well as protection and help in increasing her psychic abilities if she joins their family and does their bidding in fighting against us. Their tactics have not changed, only the times in which they use them have.
Those of us who are in truth as well as participants of the war know the claims that they make against Yahweh are not true and that anything Dawn’s side has to offer is temporary and an illusion. We know that what they truly seek is self-serving and not at all about humanity. One fallen angel in particular who has been a participant in the recent attack on our ministry has laid many claims that are skewed and purposefully misleading in order to slant the truth and sobering realities of the spiritual war in their favor and in an effort to gain more followers who will eventually meet up with the same demise that he will should they take the bait.
Dawn turned lawlessness into an art and as it spread like a virus to mankind, and then to the holy angelic hosts that broke law, its existence became a thing of common acceptance. And now, even as they watch societies struggle to maintain some semblance of law and order, they forget that in all societies there are rules that curb the excessive use of free will. That there are rules against murder and stealing and other vile crimes because if there weren’t, many would murder and steal and commit a myriad of vile crimes and there would be no justice served for those victims of these crimes.
They have committed acts of terrorism against humanity with the intent and purpose of causing the loss of their eternal lives. They have lied and twisted the truth in an effort to confuse and blind those who seek it, preferring instead that these people remain in the same darkness in which they reside. The reality and truth is that they have done absolutely nothing for humankind unless it benefits themselves. They have watched all of this and not done a single thing to actually help mankind, but have done all that they can to destroy it and bring it into the pit of destruction that they themselves are destined for.
In opposition to the Sons of Darkness, and in addition to seeking the vindication of Yahweh’s holy name and establishment of Christ’s Kingdom, the holy side also seeks to save the eternal lives of Christ’s followers. We deliver to you the Kingdom Message of Salvation and provide further nourishment and truth and the bringing of an accurate knowledge and understanding of that truth so that you might grow spiritually and come to know Yahweh intimately via an understanding of Her emotional makeup, Her science of creation and the many revelations that help us all in understanding why Her Way and Her plan for creation and Her reasons for Her laws and Commands.
The Spiritual War is not pretty. It is not magical. The sobering reality is that it is every bit as deadly, gory and just as awful as any war fought in the physical realm and if not more, because it has gone on for so long. Lives hang in the balance each and every day. Those of Yahweh’s holy family, those of Dawn’s family as well as the physical and eternal lives of those of us humans who are both aware and not aware of the Spiritual War that wages around us.
We are all given the free will choice in deciding for ourselves what side of the Spiritual War we stand on. We are asked to make this decision now, before it’s too late, as there is not much time left at all before the start of Armageddon and Rapture of Father’s faithful. These fallen angels chose their side when they followed Dawn and fell from perfection. For them the choice is made and their fate is sealed, but as humans, and via Christ’s Ransom Sacrifice we are given the gift and opportunity to choose and strive for perfection under Yahweh’s guidance and by adhering to Her Way.
While we are blessed with free will, we are also blessed with the ability to know right from wrong. As a servant of Yahweh and follower as well as warrior of Christ, I have made my choice and I have learned over time that we should always await, ready and willing, to act upon the requests and follow the laws and commands of our Creator. For me, the bottom line is simple but for those of you who may still be on the fence, consider this:
All we have to do is look around us and see what this world has become in order to see with your own eyes what it is that Dawn fights for and see that it is fruitless and folly. In being allowed to reign here on earth for a time, it has already been proven out that his idea of free agency will only create chaos, continued turmoil and more death and destruction. Is this what you want? Or do you yearn for something better?
Years from now, I pray, and I know, that we will look back on the End Times and even before and compare it to what we are experiencing in the future. By then I believe that if we have not done so already, those of us who have lived in a world of Dawn’s making will come to love The Way. The Way has purpose. The Way has intent. It is sound not at all self-serving but instead a road map on how to live in harmony, peace and love with one another.
Once this old world of Dawn’s making is done away with, we cannot allow ourselves to ever again become so puffed up with pride that we think any other way but Yahweh’s Way would work. Because it wouldn’t, and that is what She is showing us. It’s a painful lesson because not Yahweh, or Christ or Michael or any of the Holy Family wishes that anyone in Creation should be lost, but it’s one that must be learned, and remembered, for eternity.
Defending Against Speech

Proverbs 17:4 — A wicked person listens to malicious talk; a liar pays attention to a destructive tongue.
There are a lot of lies that are circulating in order to try to control things, manipulate, and perhaps even try to maintain the way things are around the world. Control by keeping individuals from the Truth so that they may not be free (John 8:32), manipulate so that actions are taken averse from what the Truth would share. In maintaining what currently is, the war, cannot continue for Father's Creation to flourish, and cannot flourish in any other way than Father's Way.
Proverbs 26:4 — Don't answer a fool according to his foolishness, or you'll be like him yourself.
In a lot of situations one may find themselves in, different topics of discussion may come about. In each of the discussions is an opportunity to explore and share Truth. However, if the discussion veers off of the opportunity, there is nothing further to be able to discuss. If there is no love in the conversation:
1 Corinthians 13:1 — If I speak the languages of men and of angels, but do not have love, I am a sounding gong or a clanging cymbal.
Paying attention to any lies, deceit or accepting anything evil in speech obscures the mind and pollutes the heart, as the speech is negative and evil, which is against Father, and thus is against Father's open clarity. Unfortunately, evil is greatly intertwined with so many things in entertainment, and in effect, are deeply engrained into culture. Amongst this, though, endurance and perseverance for Father's Light must not be hindered.
2 Timothy 4:2 — proclaim the message; persist in it whether convenient or not; rebuke, correct, and encourage with great patience and teaching.
So, even amidst any of the difficulty that the current times have, we need to maintain a clear and ready mind for Father's Will, keeping away from that which does not bear good fruits, and continuing to spread Father's Light.

Opening Books

As a Light of Life Minister, am I a fear monger? A dooms day-er? Not at all. We have been charged with sounding the warning trumpet of Yahweh. Of telling the truth whether convenient or not. Sometimes that comes wrapped in a package differently than people expect. But everything we share is backed by scripture and is directed by Father.
People are seeing the signs of the times more and more. They are putting some of the pieces together, but some reject Father’s Word as myth or old fashioned or somehow flawed. Father’s Word is accurate and has been watched over from the time the first scriptures were dictated and transcribed. If you try to figure out what is happening in the world without Father’s Word or Her Holy Spirit to guide you, then you may have knowledge but you will not have wisdom or understanding.
What if you were to pick up a Bible but can’t make heads or tails of it? So many books about events that happened so long ago… kings, prophets, signs, miracles. Well, they are all important but sometimes it helps to take the scriptures in small pieces rather than entire books.
Look in the back of your Bible under “Fear” or “Endurance” or “Rescue”. You will find examples of not only what has happened to others in the past but what will happen in the immediate and distant future. Examples that offer hope. Examples that provide guidance and support.
An interesting thing about The Word is that there is literally “nothing new under the sun”, meaning that what was will be again. Struggles or battles that occurred between ancient Israel and her enemies will happen again with Father’s faithful. Though not everything is as literal as that. Somethings however are symbolic, such as the beast with 10 horns and the whore of Babylon.
The book Chosen- End Times Truths Revealed gives insight to some of the deeper meanings in The Word. Further insight comes from not only The Ministers Corner but also Nourishment From The Throne sections in our newsletters. If you are having trouble with understanding something you are reading from this Ministry, we always suggest that you pray on it to Father. If wisdom and understanding don’t come to you at that time then there is a reason for it. Trust that it will be revealed later in Her timing. Just put your faith in Father that She is in control and that She knows you are seeking Her truth and not false hoods.
That’s really the bottom line. You may not have full understanding about the visions of the prophets, or be able to figure out what date Armageddon will begin, but what is important is your heart and seeking Father’s will and in all things not your own.

Nourishment From The Throne

Jaddai:
"dinosaur phase" The dinosaur's still exist on other planets. They are part of the wisdom in keeping foliage ate down. On planets like this earth once was – a hot house effect with canopy in place – the dinosaur serves as a necessary component. On Michael's earlier learning process, many planets are yet inhabitable. The earth was an achievement that was applauded by all of the angelic hosts, simply because he got everything right. Job 38:7 "while the morning stars sang together and all the sons of God shouted for joy?"
Job 38:8
"Who enclosed the sea behind doors when it burst from the womb," This is just another key or piece of the puzzle that tells you Yahweh is also female."
"Through observation of other creations made by Her counterparts?" Correct. There will be more passages in the future that will help each of you to understand this with more enlightenment.
This reality created by Michael within the confines of Father's body, and yes, "body" is used throughout the Word with good reason, because all things in the Word interconnect with one another. So, though this might be hard to comprehend, please bear with me, because all things do indeed connect to one another.
As a holy angel of our Creator Yahweh, and as a representative of the Most High God in our reality, I'm privy to many things learned in ancient times, just as my brotherly angelic hosts also are. This is because we were taught and told many things at our assemblies in Heaven before the dawn of mankind ever came into being. Michael explained how he came into existence, and how he had shared Father's glory along side Her in the Eternal land of the Gods, or, Assembly of Gods. Both names apply. He also revealed the names of those Gods, and he told us about the realities that him and Father had witnessed that were created within Gods much like Father. Except that they each had their own personalities, likes and dislikes that in some differed from our Creator Yahweh. One of these God's is named "Ashtoreth" and also the Greek pronunciation of "Astarte" and like Father, they all are more female than male in their static charges of energy. In reality, Father could just as easily be called a Goddess, because like Ashtoreth, She is radiantly beautiful with feminine features when She chooses to reveal Her presence..
The reason I've mentioned Ashtoreth, is because Her name was revealed long ago by Satan to mankind, and with a secrecy now involving the two. And yes, he has revealed other names of Gods that exist outside our reality. But Ashtoreth seems to be having communication with Satan, which ushers in a new chapter in this spiritual war. It has been understood by the Assembly of Gods that non participation in other realities – only viewing is permissible. This particular God appears to be meddling in Father's affairs. However, since the spiritual war until recently has been dealing with Satan and his demons and converts, we are now faced with a possible new rival.
Seraiah discovered this latest and new dilemma while cloaked and at a safe haven used by Satan. The fact that Father was unaware until Seraiah had brought Her back the revelation reveals that Ashtoreth used Her power to counter Father's Spirit that sees all things. This is a very disturbing development, but as Michael stated, "Our Father did not rule out the possibility of such interference happening." If you will each remember the thread entitled "Time, Chance, and Happening" then you will better understand that anything can happen over a long period of time, if the chance to do so is present. And that my friends is exactly what has occurred. But what Michael referred to is covered within the Word at Romans 8:38, 39
"For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing
will have the power to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord!" "nor things to come." Father evidently took this possibility into account and incorporated it into the Word. However, the War Plan has been centered on Satan and his demons, the converts and mankind. Now we might also be entering a new era of spiritual war that engages yet another God equal to Father. For Satan is trying to form an alliance with the Goddess Ashtoreth. What ramifications this might bring within our reality is yet to be made known. Whatever conversation Father has or has not had with this meddling God has not been revealed to us one way or the other. Michael has told Seraiah that we might face a battle never before comprehended. Satan neither is nor ever was a viable threat to Father's War Plan, less than just an inside chance of winning, because Father was directing his path toward the loss of this war. But with the latest development, Satan might have turned the tide, or at least have prolonged this war well beyond our timetable.
I know you all want to know exactly what Seraiah overheard, but I'm limited in what I can reveal at present. For now, know that the Goddess Ashtoreth seems to have a liking for Satan's steadfast determination to win this war, and she appeared to have been prideful and full of gratitute that Satan had made Her name known in ancient Biblical times. Whether that was a chess move by Satan that he hoped would eventually work in his favor, that is unknown, but the fact that it now appears he is forming an alliance with a foreign God that is equal to our Creator in power seems to be on the horizon. It appears Satan is willing to submit himself to a power that will come to his aid.
I'll end this for now with:
Exodus 20:3
"Do not have other gods besides Me."
Exodus 22:20
"Whoever sacrifices to any gods, except the LORD alone, is to be set apart for destruction."
Psalm 135:5
"For I know that the LORD is great; our Lord is greater than all gods." Father's love for Her creation is greater than those of the Assembly of Gods. She has proven that any reality must be governed with love, justice, and laws. This is Her Way, and it is expressly the Way of only One God of the Assembly. Because of that it can be said: Psalm 136:1
"[ God's Love Is Eternal ] Give thanks to the LORD, for He is good. His love is eternal." Psalm 136:2
"Give thanks to the God of gods. His love is eternal." Psalm 135:5
"For I know that the LORD is great; our Lord is greater than all gods."
Exodus 34:5
"The LORD came down in a cloud, stood with him there, and proclaimed [His] name Yahweh." Father wanted Her name known, because there are many other God's [and lessor gods.] Her name is important, and She Sanctifies it by Her conduct. Deuteronomy 28:58
"If you are not careful to obey all the words of this law, which are written in this scroll, by fearing this glorious and awesome name— Yahweh, your God—"
The difference in Father and that of Ashtoreth is spelled out in this Scripture:
Exodus 34:6
"Then the LORD passed in front of him and proclaimed: Yahweh—Yahweh is a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger and rich in faithful love and truth,"
The reason all angels were armed from the beginning, was because of possible disobedience from within, and also the possibility that our reality could come under seige by an outside foreign power, which is now a firm possibility. And it is another reason Father proclaimed:
Exodus 15:3
"The LORD is a warrior; Yahweh is His name." Now you know why Father is also a warrior. She will protect what is rightfully Her's, and all of Her angelic warriors will join in with Her to protect what She has created for our home in Her – our reality. We want no other God but Yahweh.
Spiritual War News
Dawn's launching an attack on the Ministry- Continued
Seraiah – He didn't give you the full 24 hours; while I was looking for Dawn in Boliva – bad news Regina – an attack was launched on your Shield; there were just to many demons for Jaddai and the other members of your Shield to repel and ward them off. Now we're searching for their remains. We know they were all killed because of the Holy Ghosts that witnessed the attack; Dawn has since been apprehended along with Enmeduranki but it did not last; both denied they gave the order to attack your Shield. Yahweh permitted the High Council to handle the matter; they ordered the release of them both unless we can come up with evidence of who ordered the theft of the spent energy of our Brothers which is a violation of the War Rules; however, they could not be charged even if either of them ordered the attack; the action is permissible under the Rules of Engagement; it is theft of spent energy that violates Father's Rules governing combative actions. But we are working on locating Jaddai and the other members; you've also been assigned a new Shield and it has been beefed up. I regret they were OFFed, but we will eventually get them all back; Hoddy sends his love and says him and Hodiah will not rest until things are corrected and the violator punished.
It's just the way this war is Regina. Yahweh is giving Dawn latitude, but She knows he's the biggest liar to ever hit creation, and She knows whether him and Enmeduranki are lying or not; which brings us to something I should relate. This is why studly of the ancient Israelite warriors and the mind-set of Yahweh are important; the way Yahweh handled things that seemed on the surface that Yahweh might have lacked insight on, such as the need to send Israelite spies into enemy cities; on the surface someone might question as to why Yahweh did not simply tell the Israeli's what they needed to know. And then the case of David and Goliath; why didn't Yahweh simply strike that Nephilim dead? Also, why bother to have the Israelite army fight the battles and why bother having guards and Rules of War even then – if Yahweh is truly Almighty? In addition, you have the ceremonies that Israeli's were subjected to to see if they had sinned, when in reality Yahweh already knew the guilt or innocence to all of those in question. The answer is this: Yahweh not only gives us a part in Her reality to live and experience happenings that are good and bad, and in doing so we are involved in a learning process that brings about the same results as if Yahweh had performed all of the tasks Herself, but we are also PROVING that we will do as She expects us to do. She is always in reserve if we ever need Her individual help; just like the use of Her Active Force to protect this Ministry within this forum; but also, Yahweh wants to let us have our memories down through eternity of how we successfully out witted our Her's and our enemy; and how through diligently following Her War Rules we fought the fine fight that resulted in victory for Yahweh and Her family. Just like ancient Israeli army that has pride in their past duties to Yahweh and in having taken objectives and performed as expected, so to we want to be able to share our own experiences someday in the distant future after Dawn and his nest of evil is completely out of existence. And that my dear Regina is why Jaddai and those other Cherubs became a victim of Dawn's evil, yet they proved what in doing so? Their LOYALTY to Yahweh and Her Throne of Authority. So, we are 1) Following Her PLAN by following Her Rules, and 2) We are proving our OBEDIENCE. And 3) We are having any question of our LOYALTY put to rest. And so, if we do not experiencing these things with CHANCE HAPPENINGS involved, then we are not really LIVING. Like Michael whom gave up his heavenly position and godly status, because he remains a PRINCE ONLY in split energy, and his other more higher climb to the Christ gave him back all that was previously lost upon shedding his heavenly vessel in trade for flesh and blood, and is why Michael can be nothing more than a Prince, because later he gains it all back as he is again reunited with his Christ half,; this exactly mirror's his split off from Heaven, and then reunification if you can comprehend the two have a commonality in Yahweh's overall Plan. But he had to follow through and actually experience the beatings, pain and dying process; it was a necessary learning experience as well as something that proved his LOYALTY and ability to see things through to the end; in that respect Christ Jesus' Sacrifice can be better appreciated if you consider that he lived through and died in the process that brought about the desired results Yahweh felt was necessary to atone and help bring creation back into unity with Her. And now Yahweh: She also feels pain and suffers internally. It is LONG SUFFERING, because our Mother has suffered for many thousands of years in this creation that is out of balance. Yahweh could just as easily have ended all of Her future misery by destroying Dawn and Adam and Eve when they were all charged with sin; but She did not do that, because She knew that with life comes the need for experience and proof of loyalty to the One that gave us our lives in Her creation. Adam and Eve failed the test of proving they were loyal, but I assure you Regina, Jaddai and those other Cherubs killed with him did not falter in our Mother's sight.
Regina – I understand, and thank you. I know it's the way the War is and I accept that and I know that Jaddai and my shield upheld their integrity to the end as it's Father that they serve with all their hearts. I will carry on and focus on Yahweh and look forward to their eventual return. I'm blessed that my shield was replenished and we all know who in the end…will get their just deserts. I will not be moved. *hugs*
Seraiah – It will be okay Regina; I'll help Hoddy and Hodiah by giving them a little boost with my intimidation routine on dawn and Enmeduranki Dawn considers me an unorthodox Seraph, and he is always quoting me the Rules of War when we have controversial issues between the two of us. I told him that for being so knowledgeable on Father's War Plan he sure has a problem following those Rules when they interfere with his breaking them But I will locate Jaddai and the others, and I can tell you right now that Enmeduranki will be squealing like a hog before I get done harrassing him over what I darn well know he ordered. But as always, I like to start at the top and work my way down Dawn will be reeling and filing complaints to the High Council before this day ends, because he's first on my list; and when I sufficiently rattle his cage he will not be sure of what to expect That will be the drain down effect to Enmeduranki that will hear from Dawn warning him that I'm probably going to OFF him and burn his spent energy out of existence; which nowadays it's in question as to whether Yahweh will reanimate any lost demons for the exception of Dawn who must fulfill prophecy or be replaced if he flatly refuses to follow through.; so he knows as long as he's performing that Yahweh will keep him in existence even if it means ten thousand reanimation's to do so. Enmeduranki doesn't;t have that luxury, and that is what I'm going to work on – to become the terror that he might just get his "just deserts early." Seraiah – I grabbed both Dawn and Enmeduranki; I have them detained here at the LOZ port of entry on my property. Don't know how long this will last, because eventually Dawn's 2nd will contact the High Council when he finally realizes that his illustrious leader is not returning from his stroll among his troops; but even if the Council intervenes, I'm not giving them up on their say so. How I got him is, I cast as his 2nd and told him I thought I'd found the remains of yours truly "Seraiah ." That got immediate attention; after I had him far away from his den I dropped the disguise and though he was not happy about the situation he came along quietly with just a couple of threats about misconduct on my part; after we arrived here he said I'd made the mistake of my Seraphic career; we shall see Enmeduranki was slightly harder to convince that I needed to speak with him, so I just lassoed him and dragged his sorry tale back here and locked him under guard with his Pappy dawn-ho Then I started the grilling process; threats and intimidation revealed nothing, so I changed my strategy; I separated the pair in separate cells and then I cast as Enmeduranki to Dawn and told him "Seraiah is going to OFF us both; I can feel it. Do you think they will ever find where our troops hid those spent deputies?" I wish all of you could have seen the look on Dawn's face after he answered "Not in a million years" and then I dropped the false cast and he knew I had duped him with witnesses, because I asked two of the Alpha members to cloak and listen in, and they also uncloaked for him to see they had been listening The only problem is, Dawn won't say where they are hidden He claims his admission was general and did not mean he knew anything about Jaddai and the other Cherubs whereabouts. Enmeduranki said he was innocent and my cast of him was a gross violation of Yahweh's rules on misrepresenting spirit identities. So, until they tell me, they aren't leaving unless Yahweh Herself orders their release; I'll just figure out another way to get the info out of them.
Well old dawnny boy and Enmeduranki have remained tight lipped, but we got a break – at least one honorable demon decided to come forward. We've been monitoring Ubers. Enmeduranki's replacement just made an astounding post As follows:

Psychic Growth: Exercise 2
Seraiah:
For those of you that were successful in the first exercise I gave in this thread, and you would like to now develop the advanced abilities I spoke of, this will be the second excercise that will help to open up your mind further to your new gift. However, for those of you that do not want to develop this ability, then leave this and all future exercises I post here alone. This exercise will begin the process, and there might not be a turning back, even if only accomplished once.
For those that want to develop this ability, FOCUS your attention to the CENTER of this pic and transfix your gaze there until it becomes milky white, and keep holding. Notice that the colors and objects will be absorbed into your mind. Don't be afraid, just let the process flow through your mind, and watch for the dramatic change, but NEVER break the transfixed gaze until the revelation completes itself. If you don't experience the revelation, then you need to keep practicing this excercise until you do.

While working in the yard, my wife saw a metallic glint when the vessel was first sighted in the NNE coming from the general direction of Parley's Canyon. It had an estimated altitude of 9-10,500 feet using Mount Olympus (9,026 ft.) as a reference point.

Nine silver, flashing objects were observed at high altitudes over the metro Phoenix area on June 1, 2010, according to testimony from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.
The first object was seen at approximately 30,000 to 40,000 feet that moved behind clouds. A second object was seen that also moved behind clouds. Then a third object was seen that moved into clouds.

For instance, due to its strength and elasticity, spider silk fiber could have several medical uses, such as for making artificial ligaments and tendons, for eye sutures, and for jaw repair. The silk could also have applications in bulletproof vests and improved car airbags.

Ladies and Gentleman – The Silbury Hill formation without a single doubt is 100% genuine.
I find the beauty and the inbuilt clock within nature quite astonishing. A simple plant knows that its late in growth so it surges to catch up and meet the deadline of harvest. Only a few days ago we commented that it could be several days before there is a chance of a barley formation, but with a combination of sunshine and rain the fields have now changed from vibrant yellows to chlorophyll filled green.
The makers have returned to the same field once again, just opposite Silbury Hill and only a few meters from where 2009s Mayan Headdress formation was, to bring us the first formation of 2010 in barley.
A simple but elegant formation, featuring swirls within the flattened sections of the formation, measuring at 195 feet in circumference, we also measured the smaller elements which were 24 feet from point to point, this measurement was equal throughout the formation.
A colleague of mine made an interesting observation – if you look towards Silbury Hill the nearest horizon just behind the hill is level with the top of Silbury Hill. No matter where you stood in the formation the level of the horizon remains the same – the point here is – if this formation was made a few feet lower or higher then this horizon would not line up with Silbury Hill. This may indeed have an importance when it comes down to alignment of formations, but to achieve something of this nature would require surveyors laser type equipment and one hell of a good judgment in placing the formation in this perfectly lined up spot.
Can all visitors to crop formations please apply some common sense, show some respect to the framer and walk into formations via tramlines. The Silbury Hill (only a few hours old! ) formation has already developed unsightly veins where visitors took short cuts through the barley.

A Geometric Triumph! This wonderful circle has references to Op Art and an inherent magical geometry within its structure. Perhaps indicating worlds within worlds. Dimensions within dimensions. The geometric statement within this formation seems to indicate the many differing perspectives that surround our everyday life.
Ladies and Gentleman – This Must be the best example in Barley EVER !!
If I sound excited, then you would be right to think it so. This second formation in barley is probably the best I have seen in this type of plant. The first initial and visual surprise is the way the barley has been gently bent and almost all heads of the plant have what could be described as a droop or heads bowed – there was no visible flattening at all – this technique I have not see in barley formations before. In comparison to Silbury Hill where the plant seemed to be forced more to the ground – here the at Liddington Castle there was no visual resemblance to the Silbury Hill formation at all – almost as if a gentler force was applied, also if you applied gentle pressure on the bent barley by pushing it down, the plant bounced back to its original bent position. Lines and elements within were absolutely geometrically pristine, as if a master carver had spent weeks in perfecting this exquisite design. Standing inside the formation you could see the half circles and triangular elements but it was hard to distinguish what the formation may have been at ground level.- seeing the formation from above – it was easy to say OMG !. Also another brilliant effect is the way the shading is created; it gives you that extra wow factor when viewed from above.
Without a doubt in my mind, that the makers have stepped up a notch with an intent to impress and prove that this is physically not possible for man to create.
On the way into the formation the screen on my mobile phone started flashing and then simply died, its not until I exited the formation and returned to our vehicle the screen faded back in again.
We also used a Electromagnetic Magnetic Field Radiation Tester – the readings were nothing to shout about but a most extraordinary thing happened which we I cannot explain. Igor Byttebier and Antoinette Dyson were present and conducted the test for me. This meter also measures air temperature in Fahrenheit and Celsius – Antoinette walked round the formation with hope for the meter alarm to go of, but nothing, as soon as she stood in the centre of the formation the temperature reading shot up to 46 degrees Celsius !!! then few minutes later rapidly dropped to minus 24 degrees Celsius. Few minutes later the battery in the meter started to fade so I went to get a replacement but also found that this battery was completely discharged. The evening was warm and sunny so we have no explanation to what might have occurred. Approximately half an hour later I returned to my kit bag and started to pack away my camera and to my surprise I could see my breath as one can on a cold winters day !!. Also moisture droplets were becoming visible on plant stems within the formation – when we first entered this formation our shoes were perfectly dry but on exit my shoes and bottom of my trousers were wet. Normal temperature at the time was approx 20 degrees Celsius so some kind of fast temperature changes occurred within this formation. !!!
The formation measured 225 feet in circumference – as I was the only one left in the formation other measurements were not made as they would simply be not correct. A formation of this size would require at least two people to conduct such an exercise.

I was quite surprised to see in the field how high were the stems, the ones supposed to be flattened. This, for me, can only be explain by the fact that this formation is already here since few days, probably one week. Meaning there since the last week end ! I don’t believe that with all the planes, helicopters flying around nothing had been reported. It’s really a shame because this is a beautiful formation, but for aerials shots there is not the good contrast that we can expect such as the Liddington Castle one. So we, photographers, are doing our best, but we don’t do miracles. (even with photoshop J). Please everybody, don’t hesitate to inform if you spot one, even if you can’t fly yourself, someone else at least will have good pictures. Thank you all.

San Andreas-like fault found in eastern U.S., from New York to Alabama, may be 500 million years old. For 30 years geologists have been puzzled by a remarkably straight magnetic line that runs between New York and Alabama along the Appalachians. A more recent aerial magnetic survey of the Alabama end of the line suggests that it's probably a 500-million-year-old San Andreas-style fault that appears to have slipped 137 miles to the right in the distant past. If so, it's no surprise that the most dangerous part of the eastern Tennessee seismic zone is right next to part of this magnetic line and has the second-highest earthquake frequency in the eastern United States. "It's most likely a strike-slip fault. But it's all buried. It's almost a needle in a haystack.”
The fact that the fault has not cut through the layers of earth above it and shown itself on the Earth's present surface suggests it's not active and so people can probably rest easy. However, the fault and fractures related to it are not incapable of quakes. In fact they are perfect places for stresses in the crust to be released, so long as they are weakened by water. This is, in fact, the likely secret to how all big and small mid-continent quakes can happen, so far from the more active and obvious zones where tectonic plates are smashing together. “The crust is full of fluids and looking for an excuse to break."
Major earthquake to hit Greece, if you can believe the frogs – Millions of frogs flooded Greece Thursday, specifically Athens. Traffic was disrupted, chaos caused. Eye witnesses claimed it looked like a "carpet of frogs" It is well known that when frogs flood an area then there is a major earthquake on the way, at least that is what history shows us. Last year in Italy frogs started to gather days before a major earthquake hit Italy and killed almost 300 people. In 2009 when the earthquake hit Italy, a biologist studying the frogs in the area just before the earthquake hit, found that the toads fled to places of safety where they won't be washed away by floods or be injured by falling trees and other dangers. In 2008 frogs also predicted a major earthquake when they moved in the millions, a few days later parts of China experienced a massive earthquake that killed more than 10,000 people. (video)
Turks fear Greek toads of doom – They may just be looking for food and greener pastures. But in Turkey, the sudden movement of hundreds of thousands of frogs that forced authorities in neighbouring Greece to close down a major highway is seen as a sign that a devastating earthquake may be nigh. Earlier this week, a massive number of frogs, estimated by local authorities to be in the millions, flooded a road near the town of Langadas in northern Greece, about 200 miles west of the Greek-Turkish border. Police closed down the highway east of the city of Thessaloniki completely for two hours on Wednesday after some cars slid off the road as drivers tried to avoid hitting the animals. A day later, traffic was still slowed down by the frog migration, which was expected to continue for several days. “Frogs on the highway – earthquake at the door”, said a headline in the Turkish Aksam newspaper. The newspaper pointed to recent findings by British scientists saying that there may be a connection between strange behaviour of frogs and a subsequent major earthquake. Toads at a site 46 miles from the Italian town of L’Aquila started showing “a dramatic change in behaviour” five days before a quake hit the L’Aquila region last year, “abandoning spawning and not resuming normal behaviour until some days after the event”. “It is unclear what environmental stimuli the toads were responding to so far in advance of the [earthquake], but reduced toad activity coincides with pre-seismic perturbations in the ionosphere, detected by very low frequency radio sounding."
Scientists say there is no way to predict earthquakes. But the public in Turkey, a country where tremors occur in some region almost every day and where around 20,000 people were killed by a massive quake in 1999, is very receptive to reports of alleged breakthroughs in earthquake prediction, especially if those observations are connected to unusual natural phenomena. After the 1999 quake in northwestern Turkey, which struck in the middle of the night, reports said animals like wolves and dogs displayed an unusual and excited behaviour shortly before the catastrophe. People also look into space to find hints of a coming quake. Because the 1999 quake occurred just six days after a solar eclipse, a new eclipse in Turkey in 2006 triggered fears that another quake was about to hit. People in a central Anatolian province left their homes and moved into tents as a precaution, but the earthquake failed to materialise. Greek authorities were quoted as saying that the toad movement near Langadas was a yearly event and that there was nothing to worry about. But that did not keep Turkish newspapers from drawing a connection between the hopping frogs and impending disaster. Almost the entire territory of Turkey is though to be earthquake-prone, but although scientists say that Turkey’s metropolis Istanbul, a city of at least twelve million people, will probably be hit by a major earthquake at some point in the coming decades, authorities and citizens alike are slow to take safety measures. Tens of thousands of buildings in Istanbul, including schools and hospitals, are thought to be too weak to withstand a major tremor, and streets marked as emergency lanes to be kept open at all times for rescue teams to get through in case of an earthquakes are routinely clogged up by traffic and illegally parked cars. One estimate says around 70,000 people could die in an Istanbul quake.
PHILIPPINES – A strong quake was felt in a wide area in Mindanao early Monday evening, but Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said it had yet to receive reports of damages caused by the tremor. "It's quite strong that normally can cause some damage to old structures, but it was so deep that we don't expect it to cause any damage. We don't expect it to generate any tsunami."
CHINA – A landslide happened at about 10 a.m. Saturday in Suoqiao Village. More than 10,000 cubic meters of rocks and mud blocked the No. 213 National Highway, a vital lifeline for the reconstruction of Wenchuan, the epicenter of the magnitude-8 Sichuan earthquake in 2008. A passage has been dug through the earth deposited from the landslide on the highway, but the road remained closed. The four-meter-wide single-lane passage, completed around 8 p.m. Sunday, has not opened to traffic because of concerns about the stability of the mountain. More than 2,000 vehicles are stranded in Wenchuan unable to leave the county. The national highway was originally suspended on May 12, 2008 due to the earthquake and on July 25, 2009 due to a rockfall.
CHINA – The death toll from the earthquake that rocked a remote part of China in April has risen to almost 2700.
VOLCANOES -
Explosive eruptions shook two huge volcanos in Central and South America on Friday, forcing thousands of people to flee their homes and disrupting air traffic as ash drifted over major cities. Guatemala's Pacaya volcano started erupting lava and rocks Thursday afternoon, blanketing the country's capital with ash and forcing the closure of the international airport. A television reporter was killed by a shower of burning rocks when he got too close to the volcano, about 15 miles (25 kilometers) south of Guatemala City. Meanwhile, strong explosions rocked Ecuador's Tungurahua volcano, prompting evacuations of hundreds of people from nearby villages. Hot volcanic material blasted down the slopes and ash plumes soared 6 miles (10 kilometers) above a crater that is already 16,479 feet (5,023 meters) above sea level. Winds blew the ash over the country's most populous city, Guayaquil, and led aviation officials to halt flights out of the Pacific port and from Quito to Lima, Peru. Neither of the eruptions was expected to disrupt airports in neighboring countries like Iceland's Eyjafjallajokul volcano did in Europe. In Guatemala, at least 1,910 people from villages closest to the Pacaya volcano were moved to shelters. Some 800 homes were damaged in the initial eruption late Thursday. A second eruption at midday Friday released ash in smaller amounts from the mountain. In Guatemala City, bulldozers scraped blackened streets while residents used shovels to clean cars and roofs. The blanket of ash was three inches (7.5 centimeters) thick in some southern parts of the city. The government urged people not to leave their homes unless there was an urgent need. The most active of Guatemala's 32 volcanos, Pacaya has been intermittently erupting since 1966, and tourists frequently visit areas near three lava flows formed in eruptions between 1989 and 1991. Eruptions at Tungurahua, 95 miles (150 kilometers) southeast of the Ecuadorean capital of Quito, buried entire villages in 2006, leaving at least four dead and thousands homeless.
The death toll from the eruption of the volcano in Guatemala has risen to at least three people. Two villagers from El Bejucal and a reporter were killed as a result of Thursday's eruption of the Pacaya volcano. The three victims were crushed by rocks strewn by the volcano.
The Guatemalan President declared a state of calamity for 15 days and called for calm as the eruption spread ash over the capital, prompting evacuations and shutting down the city's international airport. Four people were missing as evacuations continued. At least 1,800 people have been placed in shelters after four villages near the volcano were evacuated. The states of Guatemala, Escuintla and Sacatepequez were hardest hit. "The scene was chilling. All night, it was raining sand!" Pacaya had been dormant for a century until 1965, when it erupted again. Pacaya's eruptions usually last about six hours, but Thursday's was IT'S STRONGEST BLAST IN MORE THAN A DECADE with plumes of ash reaching almost 5,000 feet above the volcano's peak.
Scientists raised the alert level for Cleveland Volcano in Alaska's Aleutian chain after satellite data indicated thermal anomalies. The Alaska Volcano Observatory on Tuesday, May 25, raised the level to advisory status. There is no real-time seismic network at the volcano. Scientists say unrest there is frequent, and short-lived explosions with ash plumes up to 20,000 feet can occur without warning and may not be detected by satellites. Cleveland is about 940 miles southwest of Anchorage, on a remote and uninhabited island in the Aleutians chain. The last significant eruption of the 5,676-foot volcano began in February 2001 and eventually produced a lava flow that reached the ocean. There were minor eruptions in January, June and October 2009.
A second, much larger volcano in Iceland is showing signs that it may be about to erupt, scientists have warned. Since the start of the Eyjafjallajökull eruption, which caused cancellations of thousands of flights in Europe because of a giant ash cloud, there has been much speculation about neighboring Katla. "Analysis of the seismic energy released around Katla over the last decade or so is interpreted as providing evidence of a rising … intrusive magma body on the western flank of the volcano…Earlier seismic energy release at Katla is associated with the inflation of the volcano, which indicates it is close to failure, although this does not appear to be linked to seismicity around Eyjafjallajökull…We conclude that given the high frequency of Katla activity, an eruption in the short term is a strong possibility. It is likely to be preceded by new earthquake activity. Presently there is no unusual seismicity under Katla." Icelandic President Ólafur Grímsson has warned governments around Europe that a significant eruption at the volcano is close. "We [Iceland] have prepared … it is high time for European governments and airline authorities all over Europe and the world to start planning for the eventual Katla eruption." Katla has a crater three times as big as the Eyjafjallajokull volcano.
Too early to declare end to Iceland eruption – It is too early to declare the end of the eruption at Iceland's Eyjafjoell volcano even though it has not spewed ash since the beginning of the week, experts said on Thursday. "Usually, volcanic eruptions fade out gradually but that's not the case here. The eruption (under the) Eyjafjallajoekull (glacier) stopped quite abruptly so we're a bit hesitant to make any statements yet. We need more time to figure out what is happening there…Although there are currently no signs of the eruption starting again, we still can't be sure. But we are keeping a close eye on Eyjafjallajoekull, there's still some activity there but it's minimal. We also detect small changes in the GPS monitors, showing us that there is still some movements in the volcano but they are very, very small."
The ash plume from Iceland's Eyjafjallajökull volcano, which crippled international air travel in April, held a shocking secret: an UNEXPECTED electric charge. Ash plumes directly over erupting volcanoes have been known to generate lightning, and electrically charged ash has been found in previous plumes up to 30 miles (50 kilometers) from their source volcanoes. But according to a new study, electric ash from the Eyjafjallajökull volcano was found a record 745 miles (1,200 kilometers) away from the eruption. At that distance, it wasn't energy from the eruption itself that charged the ash. Based on the average size and shape of particles in the ash, "any initial charging that occurred would have decayed away many times over." In fact, ash from deep in the volcanic plume was still charged 32 hours after being spewed from the Iceland peak, which suggests that the charge was self-renewing, the scientists say. The discovery means that many volcanic ash plumes might be electrified, which could have implications for the air-travel industry. Prior research done with weather balloons had shown that desert dust storms can become electrified through a process of particle collision that is not yet completely understood. The same phenomenon may be at work with volcanic ash. Electrified ash could theoretically pose a risk to air traffic, because charged particles might interfere with radio transmissions. Also, if charged ash penetrates an aircraft cabin, it could create an electrostatic hazard to passengers and internal systems.
Volcanic eruptions in Vanuatu and the Commonwealth of the Northern Marianas Islands – A giant plume of volcanic ash is disrupting flights in the Pacific and threatening villagers in Vanuatu, echoing similar problems which caused air traffic chaos in Europe. Forecasters in New Zealand say the cloud, spewing from Vanuatu's Mount Yasur volcano, was about 18-hundred metres high, covering an area of about 200 square kilometres. Tourists have been urged to stay away from the volcano on Tanna island, which has disrupted domestic flights in neighbouring New Caledonia. Meanwhile, an underwater volcanic eruption has led to a state of disaster being declared across the entire Commonwealth of the Northern Marianas Islands. The governor declared the state of disaster following a loud explosion at the active submarine volcano on the island of Sarigan, located about 175 kilometres north of Saipan. A huge smoke plume was seen over the island on the weekend. As a result sea and air traffic has been severely affected.
The U.S. Fish & Wildlife has evacuated 16 people – mostly its scientists – from the Northern Islands Sunday afternoon following the eruption of the active submarine volcano south of Sarigan Friday noon. The Alaska Volcanic Observatory and the National Weather Service Guam will continue to assist with their own assets to monitor the area. The governor declared Sarigan unsafe for human habitation and restricted all travel to the island, with the exception of scientific expeditions.
Continuing volcanic activity is on-going in the area south of Sarigan, based on seismic activity and visual observations, “presenting a continuing threat of adverse impact in the waters and air space south of Sarigan island.” Sarigan, an island 175 kilometers (109 miles) north of Saipan, is a stratovolcano with NO KNOWN HISTORIC ERUPTIONS. It is currently uninhabited.
Volcanic activity observed on Thursday, May 27, south of Sarigan Island has increased, and the Guam Weather Forecast Office reported that recent satellite images indicate that the affected area is about twice the size of Sarigan Island. It quoted an observer that overflew and photographed an elongated patch of discolored ocean water and possible light-colored floating debris about 6-7 miles south of Sarigan on Thursday. At that time, the area of discoloration and debris extended over about a mile. Successive satellite images indicate that this is a point-source that has dramatically expanded in breadth. The activity appears to be centered about 6-7 miles south of Sarigan, probably on the southern extension of the submarine ridge upon which Sarigan is constructed. “Submarine eruptions are not uncommon in the Marianas Islands; mariners in the area should remain alert for floating debris and avoid areas of strongly discolored or disturbed water. Near-sea level eruptions can be dangerous producing ash laden explosions, ash and ballistic fallout, and water waves. AVO maintains no monitoring equipment on these submarine volcanoes and therefore warning of eruptive activity is not possible,” the USGS said.
ECUADOR – Volcanic activity in the Tungurahua Volcano, located around 130 kilometres away from Quito, intensified Wednesday, with explosions and other sounds that scared locals. Hundreds of people sought to escape the eruption of the Tungurahua volcano Wednesday, just days after the evacuation of around 2,500 locals. Residents further sought to move some 420 head of cattle away from the volcano, because pastures have become covered with ash. The Tungarahua's eruptive process started in 1999, although the level of alert has varied since then. Four years ago, a strong eruption caused damage to roads and agriculture.
VANUATU – Authorities in Vanuatu say ash from a volcano that erupted earlier this week is an increasing health threat to islanders and to water supplies. The cloud from Mount Yasur has billowed some two kilometres high and has affected flights in neighbouring New Caledonia. Some local people who live near the base of the volcao, have reported mild illness. Water in some parts is contaminated. Seismologists are continuing to monitor the safety situation and at this stage there's been no direction to evacuate people en masse, but tourists have been banned because of falling lava and burning rock.
ALASKA – Cleveland volcano in the Aleutian Islands in southwest Alaska is showing signs of unrest. The Alaska Volcano Observatory says there was a small ash emission from Cleveland Volcano on Sunday evening and satellite images received Monday indicated flows coming from the volcano's upper flanks. The volcano 939 miles from Anchorage is on an uninhabited island. Scientist say it will continue to be closely monitored for new signs of unrest. Short-lived explosions with ash clouds or plumes exceeding 20,000 feet above sea level are frequent on Cleveland, which last showed signs of unrest in the fall.

Tropical Storm Agatha kills 16 in Central America – Torrential rains brought by the first tropical storm of the 2010 season pounded Central America and southern Mexico, triggering deadly landslides. The death toll stood at 16 Sunday, but authorities said the number could rise. Agatha formed off the coast of Guatemala on Saturday. Tropical Storm Agatha was dissipating over the mountains of western Guatemala, a day after it made landfall near the nation's border with Mexico with winds up to 45 mph (75 kph). Although no longer even a tropical depression, Agatha still posed trouble for the region: Remnants of the storm were expected to deliver 10 to 20 inches (25 to 50 centimeters) of rain over southeastern Mexico, Guatemala and parts of El Salvador, creating the possibility of "life-threatening flash floods and mudslides." The rivers in the country's south were flooding or close to it. 4.3 inches (10.8 centimeters) of rain had fallen in Guatemala City's valley in 12 hours, the MOST SINCE 1949. As of Sunday morning, 69,000 people in Guatemala had been evacuated, many to shelters. Some lost their homes the previous day in a landslide on a hillside settlement in Guatemala City that killed four people and left 11 missing. Four children were killed by another slide in the town of Santa Catarina Pinula, about six miles (10 kilometers) outside the capital. And in the department of Quetzaltenango, 125 miles (200 kilometers) west of Guatemala City, a boulder loosened by rains crushed a house, killing two children and two adults. Other evacuees were moved from their homes to avoid potential slides officials feared might still come. A three-story building in northern Guatemala City fell into a sinkhole but there were no reports of victims.The community of Champerico had received 11.8 inches (30 centimeters) of rain in 30 hours. "It rained in one day what it usually gets in a month." Authorities have not been able to reach Champerico by "air, land or sea." In El Salvador, President Mauricio Funes declared a "red alert," the highest level of emergency, after rains delivered by Agatha triggered at least 140 landslides throughout the country and killed two adults and a 10-year-old child. The exact cause of their deaths was unclear. The Acelhuate River that passes through the capital, San Salvador, had risen to dangerous levels and was threatening to overflow into city streets. In Honduras, national emergency agency Copeco reported one man was crushed to death by a wall that collapsed in the town of Santa Ana, near the capital of Tegucigalpa. Flooding and slides destroyed 45 homes in the country and prompted authorities to evacuate 1,800 people. Before the rains, Guatemala already was contending with heavy eruptions from its Pacaya volcano that blanketed the capital in ash and destroyed 800 homes. As if the eruption of the volcano Pacaya erupting not enough, Guatemala had two earthquakes all at the same time.
AUSTRALIA – As a second low pressure system descends on the New South Wales Far South Coast, towns are preparing for another burst of severe weather. The Bureau of Meteorology has compared this morning's winds to a category 2 cyclone, with speeds of up to 135km hitting Montague Island, near Narooma. The winds are set to pick-up again, affecting towns further north. More than 10,000 people have been left without power, and electricity wires have collapsed onto local roads. About 50 homes were damaged as windows broke, roofs were torn off and trees fell. A series of offshore low pressure systems is due to cross the south coast today before moving north towards Batemans Bay.
Cyclone 03A was 557 nmi WSW of Bombay, India and 575 nmi SSW of Karachi, Pakistan.
Cyclone Three is forecast to strike Pakistan as a severe cyclonic storm at about 18:00 GMT on 4 June.
AGATHA – Flooding and landslides from the season's first tropical storm which swept away homes and destroyed roads have killed at least 145 people and made thousands homeless in Central America. Dozens of people were missing and emergency crews struggled to reach isolated communities cut off by washed-out roads and collapsed bridges caused by Tropical Storm Agatha. In hardest-hit Guatemala, officials reported 120 dead and at least 53 missing. In the department of Chimaltenango – a province west of Guatemala City – landslides buried dozens of rural Indian communities. "The department has collapsed. There are a lot of dead people. The roads are blocked. The shelters are overflowing" In the tiny village of Parajbei, a slide smothered three homes and killed 11 people. In all some 110,000 people were evacuated in Guatemala. Thousands more fled their homes in neighboring Honduras, where the death toll rose to 15 while meteorologists predicted three more days of rain. In El Salvador, 11,000 people were evacuated. The death toll rose to 10 and two others were missing. About 95 percent of the country's roads were affected by landslides, but most remained open. 179 bridges had been wrecked. The Lempa River, which flows to the Pacific, topped its banks and flooded at least 20 villages, affecting some 6,000 people. The rising death toll is reminding nervous residents of Hurricane Mitch, which hovered over Central America for days in 1998, causing flooding and mudslides that killed nearly 11,000 people and left more than 8,000 missing and unaccounted for. Rescue efforts in Guatemala have been complicated by a volcanic eruption Thursday near the capital that blanketed parts of the area with ash.

GUATEMALA – A cavernous and almost perfectly round sinkhole swallowed an entire intersection in Guatemala City during a tropical storm, spooking people in the neighbourhood but exciting geologists. The hole is 20 metres across and plunges nearly 30 metres deep. Geologists said that the circular shape suggested a cave formation underneath, but what exactly caused the sinkhole was still a mystery. "I can tell you what it's not: It's not a geological fault, and it's not the product of an earthquake. That's all we know. We're going to have to descend." The sinkhole formed on Saturday and gulped down a clothing factory about two kilometres from the site of a similar sinkhole three years ago. Residents said that a three-storey building and a house fell into the hole. Workers at the factory had left an hour earlier. A weekend security guard also was spared because he had left to tend to his house, which flooded from heavy rain as Tropical Storm Agatha bore down on Central America. Some neighbours believe one or two people might have disappeared, but authorities said no deaths had been reported. Crews were waiting for blueprints of the city's drainage system before investigating further. Most people living nearby have moved out, fearful the hole will expand and swallow more homes. A 2007 sinkhole nearby killed three people and swallowed several homes in the same area. It was blamed on rain and an underground sewage flow, but it is too early to say whether those problems are to blame this time. Video

Tropical cyclone Phet barreled toward the coast of the Gulf Arab state of Oman on Wednesday, strengthening quickly on its way to becoming a powerful category five storm. Phet was not expected to make landfall in Oman, but should instead turn to skim parallel to the Sultanate's shore before roaring northeast toward Pakistan. Phet was a Category 3 storm on Wednesday [now 4], with sustained winds of over 130 mph. It was expected to become a Category 5 storm, the most powerful with winds of over 156 mph, in the next 24 hours. Phet would lash Oman's eastern region shores with hurricane-strength winds through Friday before moving northeast. It was expected to weaken before coming ashore just south of Karachi as a Category 3 storm on Sunday.
Phet – Authorities in Pakistan and India were taking precautionary measures Wednesday as the tropical cyclone over the Arabian Sea threatened to make landfall within a day. "It could intensify further into a severe cyclonic storm and move slowly in north-westerly directions in the next 24 hours, and then recurve north-eastwards towards Gujarat and the adjoining Pakistani coast." The storm was centred about 1,000 kilometres from Gujarat state on India's north-western coast, and was expected to bring heavy rainfall to coastal areas beginning today. Fishermen were warned not to venture into the sea. Boats were ready to evacuate residents of a harbour island and along the coast, while schools would be converted into disaster centres. More than 350 people died in July 2008 when tropical storm Yemyin roared ashore in Pakistan's southern province of Balochistan with winds of about 130 kilometres per hour and heavy rains, causing floods which inundated hundreds villages.
The tropical storm that battered Central America over the weekend drove the price of coffee higher Tuesday. Guatemala and El Salvador were hit hard by a tropical storm in recent days, which could damage production or delivery of coffee. "A lot of traders are looking at the possibility of fungus or disease affecting the crop." However, it's still not clear that production will be affected.
HEAVY RAINS / FLOODING / LANDSLIDES / UNUSUAL & OUT-OF-SEASON WEATHER –
INDIA – India’s annual monsoon, vital for farming and economic growth, has not advanced in the past six days due to last week’s cyclone Laila that played havoc in Andhra Pradesh, but weather officials said there was as yet no cause for worry. According to earlier predictions by the India Meteorological Office, this year monsoon was scheduled to hit the mainland at least a week in advance. However, the monsoon will now hit the mainland on May 30, two days before the normal date of June 1, by entering the southern state of Kerala.
Facing high food prices after the monsoon failed last year, India is heavily counting on normal June-September rainfall to help the government tackle supply side inflation. Monsoon winds were weak, and might need up to two days to strengthen. Officials declare the onset of monsoon only if the rainfall on the southern tip of the country is accompanied by other developments, including a particular level of moisture in the air, the spread of rains and other parameters.
Monsoon onset phase may not last, say experts. The Indian monsoon is the hottest topic among international weather experts, who do not seem to accept India Meteorological Department's onset forecast at its face value. The IMD had said, in its newly-introduced, two-week forecast on Friday, that the onset might happen around Monday, followed by an orderly northward progression of rains along the West coast. The full-scale onset of monsoon would have to wait until June 10, to time with the arrival of the next convective (wet or rain-generating) phase of a Madden-Julian Oscillation (MJO) wave that travels periodically from west to east. The MJO wave has a major role in precipitating a copy-book onset as distinct from a ‘false onset,' which is likely to unravel around the timeline fixed by the IMD. The MJO has an alternating ‘dry' (suppressed rain) phase, which is currently on play over the equatorial Indian Ocean and the Arabian Sea, at large.
The IMD had said that the onset would be facilitated by the formation of an ‘onset vortex,' expanded on Saturday to a full-blown low-pressure area. The system might move away from the West coast to North-Northwest, but still would be able to draw in the flows and cause rains; it had said quoting numerical weather prediction models. However, this may not be the case, according to the scientists. They believe that the brewing ‘low' might just prove the monsoon's undoing. The onset, at best, would be transient and may not last longer than a couple of days.
This is because the ‘low' might strengthen rapidly and move away, robbing the monsoon system of much of its energy, denying the mainland any significant precipitation. In fact, these scientists see the system developing as an intense cyclone (to be named ‘Phet') and moving initially West-Northwest and away in a near replication of Super Cyclone ‘Gonu' of 2007. One expert, on condition of anonymity, said that the ‘onset' phase as signalled by the IMD may end sooner than later, under the double whammy of the rogue Arabian Sea cyclone and a ‘dry' MJO phase.
Overall, kinetic energy is seen as only a fourth of what is required for the Arabian Sea to precipitate the onset, and may not improve substantially even with the formation of the vortex.
Rising Pakistani lake threatens villages downstream – An enormous lake created by a freak landslide is about to burst its banks, and experts fear that dozens of villages in northeast Pakistan could be washed away. Many have already been evacuated. Under the worst-case scenario, a 65-foot-high wave would gush down the mountainous district of Hunza all the way to the Tarbela dam – a distance of some 500 miles – through a network of narrow river valleys, ending close to Pakistan's capital, Islamabad. The lake was created in January when a massive landslide came down on the village of Attabad, damming the Hunza River. Army engineers frantically cut a channel through part of the lake dam and completed a "spillway" by the middle of May, which aims to provide a safe
channel for the water to drain from the lake back into the path of the river. The lake was 4 feet below that channel late Thursday, but reports said the water was rising about 1 inch per hour. The government has been strongly criticized for not acting before the lake grew so large. A specialist on landslides published a report in March that warned of a possible tsunami if the dam wall suddenly gave way.
AUSTRALIA – Houses have been destroyed, up to 2000 homes are without power and two injured people have been taken to hospital after a powerful storm tore through Lennox Head on the NSW north coast. A waterspout hit the township about 7.30am, causing widespread damage and chaos. 12 homes have been demolished by wind and hail. Another storm front is approaching the area, potentially causing major problems for those whose homes have already been damaged. "Weather in the area is still very severe with offshore water spouts threatening to come on shore. We are expecting flooding to develop soon and may last for several days." The Pacific Highway is cut between Ballina and Byron Bay by flooding. The freak storm is likely to be just the first of many today. More waterspouts and violent thunderstorms are likely to leave a trail of destruction throughout the day as the deep-low pressure trough which caused the Lennox Head twister moves south. A mini-tornado swept down the main street of Lennox Head. "It went towards the pub, hit the pub and the roof's come off the pub and then proceeded into the street behind the pub and it's really just destroyed that street to pieces. All the telegraph poles are down, houses are just, you know, destroyed really. It's gone onto the caravan park at the end of that street and ripped the caravan park to shreds."
HUNGARY – Thousands of people have been evacuated from their homes across Hungary amid widespread flooding for the second time in a fortnight, emergency services said on Wednesday. Although heavy rainfall abated overnight, much of north-east Hungary remains on high alert, with several rivers still expected to rise to record levels. By morning, 17 villages in the north-eastern Borsod County had been cut off after roads were submerged, and the Hungary-Slovakia border crossing at Satoraljaujhely was closed to traffic. Some 2000 people had to be evacuated on Tuesday from their homes in Paszto, 70 kilometres north-east of the capital Budapest, as a reservoir threatened to overflow. This situation comes just a fortnight after floods in Hungary's WETTEST MAY ON RECORD saw many homes destroyed and left at least two people dead.
A smaller number of evacuations were reported Wednesday in Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Croatia. Seven hundred Roma were forced to leave their settlements in Slovakia's north-east, while 15 were being evacuated from their homes in southern Slovakia Wednesday. In the Czech Republic, dozens of people were evacuated in parts of the country's north-east. The body of a man was found in a flooded part of the south-eastern city of Zlin, but the circumstances of his death were still being determined. In Croatia, hundreds of people were evacuated in eastern parts of the country because of flooding due to rising river levels.
OIL SPILL -
BP said in permit applications for drilling in the Gulf of Mexico that it was prepared to handle an oil spill more than ten times larger than the one now spewing crude into the waters off the southern United States. “Proper execution of the procedures detailed in this manual will help to limit environmental and ecological damage to sensitive areas as well as minimizing loss or damage to BP facilities in the event of a petroleum release,” the company said in its oil-spill response plan in 2008. The company listed as its worst-case scenario a blowout in an exploratory well 57 miles west of the disaster, in a valley on the seafloor known as Mississippi Canyon. It’s about 33 miles off the coast of Louisiana. Such a blowout could have spewed 250,000 barrels a day.
The representations show that BP overestimated its ability to control an oil spill in waters where it’s the biggest player in a Gulf energy extraction industry worth $52 billion a year. “BP has obviously overpromised and underdelivered. They told us they had a plan that could deal with the consequences of a worst-case scenario. They don’t.”
The chance of oil reaching the shoreline within 30 days was estimated at 3 percent or less for most coastal areas, except Louisiana’s Plaquemines Parish, which the company said had a 21 percent chance of seeing oil onshore within 30 days. The spill has cost BP a total of $760 million, or about $22 million a day, the company said May 24. BP’s average daily profit last year was $45 million a day.
BP boss admits that the oil giant had not been prepared for a deep-water leak, as its latest bid to contain the Gulf of Mexico spill hit a snag. "What is undoubtedly true is that we did not have the tools you would want in your tool-kit." Although he said BP had been "very successful" in keeping oil away from the coast, he accepted it was "an entirely fair criticism" to say the firm had not been fully prepared for a deep-water oil leak. "After the Exxon Valdez spill in 1989, the industry created the Marine Spill Response Corporation to contain oil on the surface…The issue will be to create the same sub-sea response capability." The oil spill, caused by an April 20 explosion at the Deepwater Horizon rig, which killed 11 workers, is closing in on the Florida coast. BP's latest effort to contain the spill, now the worst in US history, involved using a saw to cut through the fractured riser pipe, but this became stuck.
The magnitude of the environmental and economic catastrophe in the Gulf of Mexico will take 20 years to calculate — and the oil spill has yet to be stopped. BP has given up trying to plug the gushing well altogether and is attempting to cap the leak, then siphon off most, but not all, of the crude spewing out 5,000 feet below sea level. Then there is nothing more to do but wait until a new well to divert the oil is completed in August. Meantime, oil was sighted 9.5 miles off Florida's Panhandle near Pensacola on Wednesday. The slick was predicted to reach land by this weekend.
SPACE WEATHER -
AURORA SURPRISE – On Saturday, May 29th, the interplanetary magnetic field (IMF) tilted south and opened a crack in Earth's magnetosphere. Solar wind poured in and fueled a G1-class geomagnetic storm. Northern Lights were sighted as far south as Wisconsin. The storm has subsided now. The next storm is due on May 31st or June 1st when a solar wind stream is expected to hit Earth's magnetic field. (photo)
A solar wind stream is buffeting Earth's magnetic field, and NOAA forecasters estimate a 25% chance of geomagnetic activity during the next 24 hours. On May 31st, around 2100 UT, a magnetic filament erupted on the sun. NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory recorded the action. Magnetic filaments on the sun are a bit like rubber bands. They store energy when they are twisted. Eventually they reach their fill and untwist explosively. (video)
HEALTH THREATS –
The World Health Organization again reported only low global pandemic flu activity, with the most active areas in the Caribbean and Southeast Asia, which are experiencing "low-level circulation," notably in Cuba, Singapore, Malaysia, and Bangladesh. Except for localized areas in Chile, the temperate Southern Hemisphere is showing little evidence of H1N1 activity. Seasonal influenza strains continue to be detected at low levels globally. The CDC also reported very low US rates.
H1N1 in skunks suggests wildlife transmission – In perhaps the first documented pandemic H1N1 infection in wild animals, researchers from British Columbia confirmed the virus in two skunks found dead at a mink farm. Some minks had respiratory symptoms, but no testing was done. Farm workers did not report flu-like illness but could have had asymptomatic infections. Researchers said skunks could play a role in interspecies transmission and should be included in wildlife flu surveillance.
Bumper Kenya maize harvest contaminated by toxins – There is growing alarm among Kenyan farmers about a government announcement that 2.3m bags of maize were unfit for human consumption. Health experts say the maize contained high levels of lethal aflatoxins, which have killed at least one child. The government has pledged to buy and destroy the contaminated maize. The crop was harvested in the drought-and famine-prone Eastern Province and went bad because farmers lacked the appropriate storage facilities. The east of Kenya is regularly hit by drought and food shortages. But heavy rains last year prompted a bumper harvest. Farmers were not expecting so much maize and did not know how to store it properly. Maize can be hit by a toxic fungus if it is not stored properly. There have reportedly been more cases of maize-related food poisoning, and farmers are still not sure what is safe to eat. The government was offering to buy the maize for much less than it was worth.

The Bald Knob Cross of Peace at Alto Pass, which stands 1,000 feet above sea level, was constructed in 1963, but it eventually fell into disrepair. So the state provided a grant of $20,000 to help with restoration.

Gospel For Asia has expressed its sorrow over the murder of one of its missionaries in India last month.
Ajit Bansi was constructing a new church in Assam when he was killed by an extremist anti-Christian group on May 20. He had gone to a nearby town to purchase materials for the final phase of construction but never returned.
