More Like Jesus
Submitted by Johanna
Let us be more like Jesus
In everything we do;
Let’s live a life of service,
A life that’s fresh and new.
Let’s relinquish worldly things,
And not be slaves to fashion;
Let’s fill our hearts with love,
Forgiveness and compassion.
Yes, let’s be more like Jesus,
Being always in God’s will,
For if Jesus’ light shines through us,
Our earthly purpose we’ll fulfill.

The What Ifs
By Regina
What if I lose my job?
What if I look like a slob?
What if I lose my house?
What if it’s my spouse?
What if I get really sick?
What if the clock doesn’t tick?
What if I can’t pay my bills?
What if the milk spills?
What if the sun didn’t rise?
What if I just up and die?
What if I can’t walk that far?
What if I crash my car?
What if I lose my keys?
What if my cat gets fleas?
What if he says no?
What if I can’t go?
What if the rain pours?
What if they start a war?
What if the wind blows?
What if I stub my toe?
What if it’s all a guise?
What if this is goodbye?
What if I trip and fall?
What if I miss the call?
What if I lose my way?
What if I’m led astray?
What if it gets a lot worse?
What if there’s no next verse?
Put the what ifs right out of your mind
For on our Mother we can rely.

Technology is not the Solution
submitted by Jeshaiah
There have been many years that people have lived without movies, computers, and radios. The word “lived” rather than “survived” is in the previous sentence as there have been recorded times when people have thrived under Father's grace. Yet, an addiction to entertainment and communications technology can be seen in many parts of the world. Further, research and development into more technologies seems to be more performed, and for various reasons.
One of such reasons might include the fulfillment of another's desire to buy technology that seems better, faster, and more secure. Yet, this is a pursuit of fulfilling a desire for material goods, which is a desire taught to avoid in Father's Way. Another reason might be to further expand knowledge, yet, if this is not done under Father Yahweh's guidance, there may be actions taken that will only destroy. For instance, the research performed under the Large Hadron Collider is performed under guess and test, only going by theory, but not knowing what is actually going to happen. One of the ideas of the effects of splitting an atom was the possibility of a chain reaction causing the whole world to be destroyed, but various tests were still performed. Another reason may be to expand out further from the planet, yet again, without Father's guidance, it may not be realized that the expansion would be a perilous journey to attempt to trespass on property that belongs to Father. Technology to also try to fix other technological problems would only lead to other problems. This could be reasoned in that various technology that exists in the physical realm brings nature out of balance, and would only further the imbalance so long as remaining to interfere with the natural order of things.
For instance, satellites that are launched require the usage of rockets. Rockets require a fuel source that pollutes the environment, and rockets also require a large source of energy. A fuel source that some how does not pollute the environment would still cause a large imbalance of energy due to the force required to launch the satellite. In this way, a rocket launch could still be poisonous in effect. At the same time, because of such a large usage of energy, there would require a time for the planet to recuperate from energy expenditure, a regeneration, as the planet is alive by Father's Spirit. To also consider, a rocket would be launching heavy materials off of the planet, which could alter gravity, and in the very long time span, perhaps alter how the planet revolves around the Sun. The problems would only keep compiling, and all solutions are Father's.
Proverbs 5:1-2 — My son, pay attention to my wisdom;
listen closely to my understanding

2 so that [you] may maintain discretion
and your lips safeguard knowledge.

Proverbs 5:1 Lit wisdom; stretch out your ear
Proverbs 5:1 : Pr 4:20; 22:17;

Proverbs 22:12 — The LORD's eyes keep watch over knowledge,
but He overthrows the words of the treacherous.
Soon to come will be wars, famine, pollution and “freak” storms. One of the solutions that may be provided would be to improve technology, but any technological solution will only cause more imbalance. Faith should not be placed in technology or man-made things, but in Father Yahweh. Though terrible things will come to pass (pass also meaning they will not be forever), Mother will see us through.
Psalm 94:10 — The One who instructs nations,
the One who teaches man knowledge—
does He not discipline?

Before the Morning
Submitted by Deborah
1 Corinthians 4:5
Therefore don't judge anything prematurely, before the Lord comes, who will both bring to light what is hidden in darkness and reveal the intentions of the hearts. And then praise will come to each one from God.
Sometimes, we just don’t know why things happen as they do or how they will turn out. We pray. We study. We seek counsel. Jumping to conclusions. Looking for answers. Sure, its hard to wait for those answers. Especially when we are hurting.
Are you the kind of person that reads books quickly, even skimming or out right skipping to the end of the story because you want to know how it all turns out? In life we don’t have that option. We have to live each day feeling and experiencing our story. And this story expands over a lifetime and then some. In fact, if we are found worthy our story will not end.
As hard as it is sometimes to watch and participate in this life, you still have a role and purpose in how this all turns out. So keep to the Narrow Path, trust in Father and don’t judge anything prematurely. For certainly there is purpose in everything Father puts before us. We have all been given a wonderful reason to believe there is salvation in the way, the truth and the life. We just have to get through the dark before the morning.
Before the Morning
by Josh Wilson

Do you wonder why you have to

Feel the things that hurt you

If there’s a God who loves you where is He now

Maybe there are things you can’t see

And all those things are happening

To bring a better ending

Someday somehow you’ll see you’ll see

Would you dare would you dare to believe

That you still have a reason to sing

Cause the pain that you’ve been feeling

It can’t compare to the joy that’s coming

So hold on you gotta wait for the light

Press on and just fight the good fight

Cause the pain that you’ve been feeling

It’s just the dark before the morning

My friend you know how this all ends

You know where you’re going

You just don’t know how you’ll get there

So say a prayer
And hold on cause there’s good for those who love God

But life is not a snapshot

It might take a little time but you’ll see the bigger picture

Once you feel the weight of glory

All your pain will fade to memory

It’s just the hurt before the healing

Oh the pain that you’ve been feeling

It’s just the dark before the morning

Nourishment From The Throne
Don't be confused about the past "Exits" that resulted in loss of life. There is a way to reach eternity through Father's Sanctuary without losing one's existence. We were all taught about the things that exist within Father's reality. Satan is not ignorant to what he can and cannot do. He spent a long time planning out his rebellion.
John 20:30
"[ The Purpose of This Gospel ] Jesus performed many other signs in the presence of His disciples that are not written in this book." This holds true in Heaven also. Some of the things you're learning are not written in the Word, and this is because the Word gives a scale downed version of what Father's Plan is, the history, etc. So, many things remain hidden at present. They are part of the mysteries of Father's inner workings.
Daniel 6:27
"He rescues and delivers; He performs signs and wonders in the heavens and on the earth, for He has rescued Daniel from the power of the lions." Learning to decipher the analogies of the Word will give you the markers of what you have learned. You know that the LOZ are the Lions of Zion, and that Satan's warriors also represent lions. So, let's look at a Passage of someone of Father's family in peril:
Daniel 6:27
"He rescues and delivers; He performs signs and wonders in the heavens and on the earth, for He has rescued Daniel from the power of the lions." Each of you will be rescued and delivered. The last is the KEY. "delivers" to where? Out of harms way. And who is the enemy in these last days that are of spiritual makeup? They are Satan's den of lions. They are powerful. But the LOZ performs signs and wonders in the heavens and on the earth, so that you are not ignorant of Father's Plan to rescue and deliver you from harm.
Ecclesiastes 8:1
"[ Wisdom, Authorities, and Inequities ] Who is like the wise person, and who knows the interpretation of a matter? A man's wisdom brightens his face, and the sternness of his face is changed." You are each becoming wise, and learning the meaning of matters involving Father's reality. Your new found knowledge is wisdom from above, and it should brighten your faces.
Ephesians 3:10
"This is so that God's multi-faceted wisdom may now be made known through the church to the rulers and authorities in the heavens." Who are those "rulers and authorities in the heavens?" They range from governing leaders of holy ghost orders to officers over holy angelic orders, and authorities that oversee the things of Father's Sanctuary. Such as the "8" which requires Father's permission to enter. Also a doorway out into Eternity. And still more, but for now they remain a mystery to each of you. All in its due time.

There's a question mark in the record cast also, which probably means there's some question about Seraiah's loyalty to yahweh, or else he did something else that disqualified him from being risen back up through yahweh's furnace of reanimation. He was a REAL BASTARD and deserves the {IT if anyone ever did. YAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOO!!

Here's the deal on Seraiah. We don't think he remained faithful. Won't be reanimated by Yahweh. The reason Pappy believes this is because Seraiah's human vessel should have expired when he was offed. We have sinced learned that Michael the other BASTARD had his mother do a transference of energy at Seraiah's death by some other angel to fill his flesh vessel for some unknown purpose. Seraiah was supposed to have remained in his human vessel until Armageddon. But he didn't thanks to our unique fighting abilities and our great strategies against the holy side. YAHOOOOOOOOOOOOO he ain't comin back!!!!

"Well, mission accomplished, ace. I've noticed. You can off the "alphy" character now."
Be careful unless you want Pappy to convince you we are real. How about you challenge him on it and see what he does? But I warn you, if he makes a believer out of you, he might leave some of the family with you until you pass over. But it could be worst, you could be stuck with the holy side LMBO!!

We have Enmeduranki back. Thanks to my cunning strategic war prowess against yahweh the so-called warrior. But because I felt pity for Liddia's loss, but We were just joking. We are who we have always been. But we did off Seraiah's energy. At least we feel confident we did because he went down in a big flame of negative energy from one of our antijabok sentries that nailed him when he blew his load on some of our other troops. We knew we'd get that bastard sooner or l a t e r .
Hey icarious Come over here and look deep into Pappy's eyes. ok? Dare you to

LMBO!! at such stupidity Why does everyone confuse unlimited power with gods? If we could do what you've asked, there would be no free will. We would be circumventing your will for ours. Why do you think Yahweh has restrained our powers? Sheeeeese!! would never have saved Seraiah after having befriended him and him betraying me, I decided to do what was best for her and sent her on her way to where he is THANK YOU YOUR HIGHNESS of the angelic bee population of MINDLESS unrelenting workers. But I still cannot release Michael. MY position on the board of war chess would then become perilous. You understand I'm sure Come and get him if you think you can.

Lifting the Veil
Learning How to See and Decipher Spiritual Photos
Psychic Growth: Exercise 4-A
Seraiah: Friends, this is a 4 part exercise. The first part is designed to bring your bridge to its full completion, spanning from your mind to the Spirit realm. It will MAKE a permanent connection.
When you view the first pic, look at both yellow circles at the same time and transfix your gaze on them. When they split into 4 yellow circles, you'll notice that they split apart in two to each side, with a space in the middle. What you want to do, is to hold your transfixed posture until the two opposing middle yellow circles are connected to each other. When this happens, hold your gaze at this transfixed point. However, if they separate again, then concentrate to reconnect the two center yellow circles. Do not worry about the outer yellow circles. The center circles represent the bridge being connected from both the Physical Plane to the Spiritual Plane. When you have them firmly connected,
close your eyes for a count of 5, then open them again. If they stayed together as you again transfix, you are bridged, if not, re- connect as explained. Continue to close your eyes and open on a count of 5 until the yellow dots remain connected in the center with each new transfix. To further clarify. When you open your eyes, then re-transfix, the middle yellow circles should be joined as the posture occurs again. If not, then you should repeat until you accomplish the feat.
Jeshaiah: Something recalled about this exercise when conversing with
Seraiah, as well, is that after enough practice, and an individual performs the exercise and sees the middle circle disappear, it means that their mind has opened to the Spirit Realm, like a gateway.

Crop Circle Watch

Walbury Hill, nr Combe, Berkshire. Reported 12th June
No field report on this crop circle is available at this time.

Poirino (Torino). Reported 13th June
The new crop circle in Italy, decoded to have something to do with Einstein's theory of relativity may be a prophetic about the gulf oil spill. I know I've sent you a message already theorizing that the yin-yang, snake formation may have something to do with the Mississippi river, and the gulf oil spill, but it seems to me more and more that this spill will have dramatic consequences in our near future, and that the circle makers may take special interest in this event.
Now why would I interpret this E=MC^2 message as being connected to the oil spill? Three reasons. the first is that E=MC^2 is a central contributing formula that led to the development of nuclear weapons. Secondly, the formation resembles an atom. Specifically the carbon atom, having six electrons. It just so happens that carbon is a central atom in petroleum and the various toxic gasses spewing out of the gulf floor. This brings me to the third reason: while the carbon atoms spewing from the crust may not be radioactive currently, a growing trend in ideas to stop the leak is to set off a nuclear weapon next to the well. The other key element in petroleum is hydrogen. So, if you can imagine a nuclear bomb irradiating a massive amount of hydrocarbons in the sea, which could then spread throughout all the oceans of the world, and perhaps even into the atmosphere, we're talking about a catastrophe of apocalyptic proportions, especially if, instead of stopping the leak, it makes the leak worse.
Just a thought.
Hank Meyer

Chirton Bottom, nr Urchfont, Wiltshire. Reported 16th June

Now that’s what I call a Crop Circle Formation
When the message of this new formation came through – something told me not to hesitate, so this one I had to go and see!.
We were aiming to catch some contrast from the setting sun but due to the location and with the formation lying in a dip, the sun set below the visible horizon before we managed to get there.
At ground level the formation felt right and flowed with a positive feeling. The lay of the formation just simply displayed geometric perfection with barley swirling into the open circles. A big thumbs up to the makers in restoring some more faith that they are still around and haven’t taken an Italian vacation after all !!
This figure of eight formation with open and closed circles gave me the impression of a ‘ broken chain ‘ with swirling water flowing in and out of each circle. ( please refer to images showing a blue contrast ) . ( There is a clue here which I will tell you hopefully next Monday )
This barley formation also showed something of interest which was visible throughout the entire formation . The semi mature flattened barley had also young barley mixed within, but the young barley was left standing upright and appeared not to affected as was the semi mature barley. How is this possible ? – How does the force applied determine whether the plant is young or old ? and how does it avoid this young plant in the process of creation ?. It also a good indication that some kind of respect to the young plant is shown..
There was also no signs of other non native plants mixed into this formation.
We stayed till the sun set and took some more shots which again displayed something different – the flattened barley was now showing white swirls – probably a reflection from the flash but nevertheless an interesting effect.
Could this arrival be a sign that the long awaited season is about to kick off !!??

An earthquake of 7.5 magnitude hit near India's Nicobar Islands, in the Indian Ocean. It occurred about 150km (95 miles) west of the Nicobar Islands and 440km from Sumatra, Indonesia. The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center initially issued a warning for the entire Indian Ocean region. The agency later downgraded the warning to India only, before cancelling the alert altogether.
"Sea level readings indicate that a significant tsunami was not generated." No damage was reported in the Andaman and Nicobar islands, although a total blackout sparked panic in the capital, Port Blair. More than 350,000 people live on nearly 600 islands in the remote archipelago. In 2004, a powerful earthquake off Sumatra's coast triggered the tsunami that killed more than 220,000 people around the rim of the Indian Ocean.
California earthquake prediction a hoax – You might have seen a YouTube video in the past couple of days of a man yelling, in military cadence, that California is about to be hit by a catastrophic earthquake measuring at least 9.0 in magnitude. At the very least, the claim is unfounded, say scientists. And the whole thing could be a hoax that has caused some confusion and fear. "We know that major earthquakes are inevitable on major faults like the San Andreas, San Jacinto, and Hayward faults. But we can't predict when the next Big One will strike. Even the concept of an 'overdue' earthquake is not as clear cut as it seems. Scientists sometimes start itching to use the o-word, but the reality is usually that the earthquake could be tomorrow, but it could also still be 50 or even 100 years away." It also should be noted that California has never experienced a 9.0 in modern history. (quake map)
CALIFORNIA – Dozens of aftershocks have occurred in the California desert following two moderate earthquakes on Saturday night. The earthquakes occurred in the Borrego Springs area, about 32 miles southeast of Palm Springs. A 4.8 earthquake followed by a 4.9 quake struck just after 8 p.m. Those temblors were followed by more than three dozen smaller earthquakes, which have continued well into Sunday morning. Hundreds of people told the USGS that they felt the first two quakes, many of them in San Diego. The quake also was felt across the Palm Springs area, as well as along the northern San Diego County coast, Orange County, San Bernardino and Riverside. The aftershocks were smaller, and far fewer people felt them. No damage or injuries were reported. (map)
A 5.7 earthquake rocked Southern California, shaking the Los Angeles area and forcing a halt to the Toronto Blue Jays-San Diego Padres game in San Diego. The quake was centered five miles southeast of Ocotillo near the U.S.-Mexico border. It struck Monday at about 9:30 PDT. The quake was initially reported as a magnitude-5.9 temblor. It was felt as a gentle rolling motion in Los Angeles, Long Beach and Orange County.
The quake follows a series of temblors that struck Southern California over the weekend, including a pair of moderate earthquakes that rattled a desert area east of San Diego. Residents in downtown San Diego could feel the ground rumbling during at least one of the Saturday quakes. There are no immediate reports of damage or injuries from Monday night's earthquake.
More than two dozen aftershocks [44 so far], struck Monday night near the US-Mexican border in southern San Diego County. The aftershocks – ranging up to 4.5 magnitude – were concentrated in the same general area as the 5.7 quake.
TAIWAN – A 5.4-magnitude earthquake struck directly below one of the largest cities on the east coast of Taiwan today. The quake hit at 8.31am (10.31am AEST) 32km below the city of Hualien, one of the main cities on the thinly populated east coast which is home to about 110,000 people. There were no immediate reports of casualties. Taiwan is regularly hit by earthquakes as the island lies near the junction of two tectonic plates. In September 1999, a 7.6-magnitude tremor killed around 2400 people in the deadliest natural disaster in the island's recent history.
7.1 Mag Quake Rocks Indonesia; Tsunami Warning – A powerful 7.1-magnitude earthquake killed at least two people and damaged scores of homes in eastern Indonesia on Wednesday, triggering a tsunami warning and widespread panic.
The victims were believed to have been crushed under their collapsed homes on Yapen island, close to the epicentre off the northern coast of Papua province. It was the second of a series of strong tremors that were felt across a vast but sparsely populated region. A third earthquake occurred a little later.
Yapen island, with a population of about 70,000 people, appeared to be the worst-hit area with one church destroyed and at least 150 homes damaged. "The situation now is still tense. We have moved people to higher ground in anticipation of a tsunami." Indonesia's Geophysics and Meteorological Agency issued a localised tsunami warning but it was lifted an hour later. Thousands of people fled their homes and workplaces on nearby Biak island and in the West Papua provincial capital of Manokwari about 300 kilometres (180 miles) to the west. "There was a swaying movement for about 40 seconds. People ran out of their homes, shouting 'get out, get out, the earth is shaking'". Many people remained outside as a series of powerful aftershocks shook the region, some as strong as 6.6 in magnitude. Scientists cannot predict when the next major earthquake will hit Indonesia but they say it is only a matter of time before another catastrophe on the same or even greater scale as 2004 strikes the archipelago again.
CALIFORNIA – In Ocotillo, the shaking has been 'nonstop'. A string of aftershocks has kept the tiny desert town on edge ever since a magnitude 7.2 quake struck Baja Mexico on Easter. After Monday's 5.7 temblor, 'everyone is freaked.' The 7.2 earthquake struck on April 4th just across the Mexico border, causing minor damage in the tiny desert town. And then the shaking came even closer to home. The community was five miles from the epicenter of the magnitude 5.7 earthquake that hit at 9:26 p.m. Monday. Experts described that temblor as an aftershock of the April 4 quake in Baja California and said Ocotillo's trembling is far from over. "With something as big as a 7.2, the aftershocks are going to continue for years or decades." Residents of Ocotillo have been rattled by dozens of secondary aftershocks since Monday's quake. "There's been little rumblers here and there all night, and they've still been going on since then." Around town residents have reported broken pipes and cracks in the wells they rely on for drinking water. Mobile homes and the community center also sustained earthquake damage. "We are the epicenter, we had severe damage. We immediately lost power, because the transformer that fed our house fell off the pole. Nothing stayed on the walls." Many in Ocotillo had been feeling the Earth trembling in recent weeks as they finished cleaning up the damage from the April 4 quake. And then, like now, they worried that another would come. "The activity has just increased dramatically, and since Easter it's been nonstop. "I'm sad to say, but everyone's on pins and needles. Everybody is just freaked."
Strange underground rumblings in Guatemala – Emergency authorities said Wednesday they are on watch for sinkholes and other possible problems in Guatemala, where heavy rain has already caused two rivers to overflow and a tropical storm led to the deaths of more than 150 people in May. Tropical Storm Agatha and heavy rain that followed it caused a dramatic sinkhole in Guatemala City, and officials say they are concerned that others may develop because of the current downpours. An emergency official said his office has received numerous calls from nervous residents who say they have heard strange underground rumblings. The concerns are being investigated.
Forecasters are predicting rain for the next 48 hours, with heavy showers in the afternoons and evenings. And officials are keeping an eye on two nearby disturbances in the Pacific Ocean that could develop into tropical storms.
INDONESIA – Nine villages and almost 2,000 homes destroyed in Papua quake. Seven churches, a power station and an elementary school are also razed. The region is very poor with limited communications. The exact number of victims is still unknown. The tremor, which measured 7.1 on the Richter scale, hit Biak Island, north of Papua Province. Despite its mineral riches (oil, gas, lumber and gold), Papua is one of Indonesia’s poorest provinces. It is underequipped in terms of basic infrastructures like roads, bridges and hospitals. All this has complicated the rescue effort. Road travel and communications are difficult. Yesterday’s huge tremor was also felt in Central Sulawesi where earlier a man was reported killed in a previous moderate quake that hit the area.
CALIFORNIA – Earthquake activity remains at elevated level amid more aftershocks, USGS says. The California-Mexico border continued to be rattled by what the U.S. Geological Survey called an elevated level of earthquake activity as hundreds of aftershocks to the 5.7 temblor on Monday were recorded. The quake on Monday was itself an aftershock of the 7.2 magnitude Easter Sunday quake that hit the Mexicali area. Experts have said the 7.2 temblor has caused thousands of aftershocks, increasing overall seismic activity in the Southern California-Baja California region. There were dozens of aftershocks overnight, but fewer were greater than 3.0 magnitude when compared to Tuesday or Wednesday. On Thursday morning, a 4.1-magnitude quake on the border was reported; it probably was an aftershock of the April quake.
ICELAND – The eruption of Eyjafjallajökull volcano in Iceland may have subsided, together with the associated travel chaos, but scientists continue to warn that more eruptions are likely in the future. The current volcanic activity in Iceland is not unusual, with similar eruptions occurring on average every 20 to 40 years. Over the last 1,100 years, there have been 205 volcanic eruptions in Iceland; about 150 of them were significantly explosive. The last eruption to produce significant ash fall across northern Europe was in 1947. Four of the most active volcanoes – Askja, Katla, Grimsvötn, and Hekla – and Öraefajökull, have produced 20 eruptions larger than Eyjafjallajökull in historic times. Looking at the pattern of eruptions, scientists say they follow a cycle, and we could now be in a more active time period following a 50 to 80-year lull. “The most likely explanation for the observed pattern is long-term stress conditions in the Icelandic crust and changes therein. Seems like the region goes through periods where the stress distribution is relatively relaxed; hence it is easier for magma to rise towards the surface and erupt.”
Volcanoes in Italy, the Aegean, the Azores, and the Canary Islands, which also produce large ash plumes, have the potential to disrupt air travel in the future, though it is very difficult to predict if and when future eruptions may occur.
PHILIPPINES – Taal Volcano island residents refuse to leave their homes unless forced by government authorities, believing that good spirits are taking care of and protecting them. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology has raised the alert level in Taal to 2. In 1976, the volcano acted worse than now. “There were huge cracks of land wherein a carabao would fit in but we did not leave." In 1965, when Taal erupted, they only left their home when they saw fire coming out of the volcano. “It’s strange how we fitted in one motorboat. We were 150 persons that time when we fled." The people’s patron saint, San Guillermo, appeared before them, guided them and brought them safely to the mainland, about 4.8 km away from the island. “The good spirits would warn us if we have to leave our homes." Residents cited the following signs that the volcano would erupt: Animals coming down, presence of more thunder and strong quakes, and presence of schools of fish on the shore.
The crater lake was calm and peaceful on Thursday but this was unusual. The sulfur content in the air increased, the color of water was turning into green from bluish and steam was seen coming out of the sides of the cliff. For the last 24 hours, Phivolcs recorded 18 small volcanic earthquakes.
RUSSIA – GORELY VOLCANO – In the Russian Far East, Kamchatka’s Gorely volcano is spewing steam and ash again AFTER DECADES IN DORMANCY. The plume has stretched to over a hundred kilometers, compromising regional air travel and threatening disruption at a local geothermal power plant. Volcanologists say that population centres are not under threat. Mount Gorely rises to about two kilometres above sea level. There are 11 craters on it, one with a lake. The volcano’s average dormancy interval is close to 20 years. (photo)
KLYUCHEVSKAYA SOPKA VOLCANO – Black volcanic ash covered the Klyuchi village in Russia’s Kamchatka in the Far East on June 9th. Experts say the ash poses no threat to the local population. The Klyuchevskaya Sopka volcano, the highest active volcano in Eurasia, has been erupting since last August.
ICELAND – Fear of floods from Eyjafjallajökull Volcano persist. Authorities closed down Thórsmörk valley to traffic because of the danger of flash flooding down the Gígjökull glacier. A lot of water seems to be sitting in the crater of Eyjafjallajökull glacier and this water is bound to burst down the Gígjökull glacier sooner or later. These waters will surge into the Markarfljót river which runs down Thórsmörk valley. It is uncertain how vast the floods will be and so authorities have decided err on the side of caution and close Thórsmörk to visitors. Thórsmörk nature reserve, a valley which sits between glaciers, is one of the most scenic spots in the country. It was also the scene of the Fimmvörduháls eruption which occurred on the mountain ridge above the valley, creating spectacular lava flows which ran over the ravines and into Thórsmörk. (photo)
RUSSIA – SARYCHEV VOLCANO – Almost a year after it spectacularly erupted, Sarychev Volcano showed more modest signs of activity on June 11. Satellite images show apparent water vapor filling Sarychev’s summit crater, forming an almost perfect circle of white. A much fainter, barely discernible plume blows away from the summit toward the east. Sarychev Peak is a stratovolcano and reaches a height of 1,496 meters (4,908 feet). It forms the highest point on Matua Island. This volcano ranks among the most active in the Kuril Islands, which extend southwestward from the Kamchatka Peninsula. (image of last year's eruption)
PAPUA NEW GUINEA – MOUNT ULAWUN VOLCANO – Disaster officials are on alert as one of the country's highest active volcanos shows signs of an eruption. PNG's Mount Ulawun volcano in West New Britain province has been emitting vapour over the last few weeks. It is at stage one but there are chances of an eruption. "Provincial disaster officers should take measures to conduct awareness or mock exercises so can people can get used to where to move when an eruption happens." Evacuation plans are in place. There are 6,000-10,000 residents at the foot of the volcano.
PHILIPPINES – TAAL VOLCANO – Authorities alarmed over Taal Volcano worsening situation. Philippine authorities said Taal Volcano in Taal, Batangas is still in an alarming situation. This comes after the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said Tuesday that Alert Level 2 remains in the area. Phivolcs recorded seven volcanic quakes throughout the night of Monday until early morning Tuesday wherein the strongest recorded was at 6 a.m. Local officials said they were advised to postpone the opening of classes while the volcano’s alert status remains in level 2.
PHILIPPINES – The Philippine Coast Guard has deployed three “special operations” teams to Taal Lake in Batangas to conduct maritime patrols and assist in the evacuation of volcano island residents. The teams, composed of divers and other maritime search-and-rescue specialists, will reinforce personnel of Coast Guard detachments in the lakeside towns of Talisay and San Nicolas. Yesterday morning, Coast Guard personnel joined the Talisay Mayor in conducting an “information drive,” urging volcano island residents to evacuate to the mainland. They also advised both foreign and local tourists not to take short trips to Pulo, or volcano island to view the crater. Phivolcs has raised the alert level in the Taal Lake area to 2 as it also warned that Taal, the volcano closest to Metro Manila, was acting up. Alert level 2 means magma was rising “which could eventually lead to a volcanic eruption.” The other signs that an eruption was imminent was if islands around the volcano rose and water levels on the shore became lower. During the past two weeks, an undisclosed number of high frequency-type volcanic earthquakes has been detected in the lake area. But majority of Pulo’s 6,000-plus residents have refused to leave their homes unless forced by government authorities. There are six villages in the island – Tabla, San Isidro and Balantoc in Talisay; Alas-as and Pulang Bato in San Nicolas; and Calawit in Balete, another lakeside municipality.
The volcano, which has a total of 47 craters, has been on alert level 1 since Nov. 23, 2005. Taal has erupted 33 times in the past. Its last eruption was on Oct. 3, 1977, but its most violent was on Sept. 28-30, 1965.
INDONESIA – Mud Eruption Reported in East Nusa Tenggara – An inter-regional road in a Kupang, the seat of East Nusa Tenggara province was nearly flooded by accumulation of a mud eruption which authorities said started about a month ago in a village in Sulamu Subdistrict. The mud almost covers the road connecting Sulamu Subdistrict and West Fatuleu Subdistrict and several other subdistricts in Amfoang. Despite the low intensity and size of the eruption, the eruption is disrupting inter-region transportation. Local residents have tried to keep the main road accessible by funneling the mud from the road to the nearby forest by making small trenches.
RUSSIA's northern-most active volcano was churning out ash to a height of 4,000 meters (13,000 feet) in the country's Far East on Thursday. The Shiveluch volcano on the Kamchatka Peninsula last erupted in December 2006 and has been active ever since with the volcano spewing out gas and ash up to 8,000 meters (26,000 feet). The local seismological service reported registering dozens of tremors within the area in the past 24 hours. The volcanic activity over the past two-three years has significantly altered the contour of the volcano with the crater increasing in size by 50% and the slopes becoming far steeper than previously. Although the current eruption poses no immediate threat to nearby settlements, the ensuing ash fallouts could be hazardous to health and the environment. The clouds of volcanic ash could also pose threat to air traffic.
PHILIPPINES – The Provincial Government of Batangas said Thursday it was prepared to declare a state of calamity as Taal Volcano continued to show signs of restiveness. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology recorded at least 15 volcanic earthquakes in the past 24-hour observation period. It said the Alas-as (a new eruption site), Pira-piraso and Calauit leveling lines remained inflated. The volcano island is still off-limits to the public since Phivolcs raised the alert level from 1 to 2. Alert level 2 means the volcano is undergoing magmatic intrusion, which could eventually lead to an eruption.
The first named storm of the hurricane season – Tropical Storm Alex – may emerge from a cyclonic system near Africa, the National Hurricane Center reported. An area of low pressure about 975 miles southwest of the southernmost Cape Verde Islands has become "better organized" Sunday. Odds are 50 percent that the system will develop into a tropical depression – with sustained winds of less than 39 mph – within the next 48 hours. If winds top the 39 mph limit, the cyclone will be named Tropical Storm Alex. The storm system is tracking west-northwestward at 10 to 15 mph.
GUATEMALA – President Colom said Guatemala will need five years to rebuild the infrastructure damaged by Tropical Storm Agatha.
In the tropics, a VERY RARE tropical wave for this time of year so far out in the Atlantic is getting its act together right now. It looks like we could have our first tropical depression of the 2010 season, and perhaps our first named storm – Alex in the next 12 to 24 hours. The only other time we've had a storm this early so far out in the ocean was Tropical Storm Ana back in 1979. Climatology tells us that any storm that forms this far out so early in the season shouldn't survive, but the SEA SURFACE TEMPERATURES ARE OFF THE CHARTS right now, and over the next day or so upper level winds will be pretty light, so chances are good we'll see Alex show up, and the Lesser Antilles will need to keep an eye on this for at the very least heavy rain and strong winds by week's end. (map of June tropical storm origin locations)
Atlantic tropical storm seen as less likely – "Conditions are becoming less favorable for tropical cyclone formation … during the next 48 hours."
Tropical depression 02E was 216 nmi ESE of Acapulco, Mexico.
A tropical depression has formed in the Pacific off Mexico's southwestern coast and a tropical storm warning was issued for the area. The National Hurricane Center in Miami says the tropical storm warning is for the coast of Mexico from Punta Maldonado to Acapulco. A tropical storm watch was in effect for west of Acapulco to Zihuatanejo. The depression has maximum sustained winds near 30 mph (45 kph). Forecasters say some gradual strengthening is expected during the next 48 hours and the depression could become a tropical storm by Thursday. The depression is centered about 35 miles (55 kilometers) south-southeast of Puerto Angel.
The possibility that System 92L in the Atlantic Ocean will bloom into the Atlantic's first tropical storm is now minimal because of strong westerly winds. On average, the first tropical storm of the season forms on July 9th. The first hurricane forms on average on August 10th.
Tropical depression 02E was 99 nmi SE of Acapulco, Mexico.

Tropical storm BLAS was 244 nmi SSW of Manzanillo, Mexico.
Tropical Storm Blas formed on Thursday in the Pacific off southwestern Mexico, but was expected to move away from the coast.
ARKANSAS – Rescuers continue to search for about two dozen people missing in a flash flood that tore through campsites, killing at least 18 people. 200 rescuers searched through the rough river and rugged terrain in the Albert Pike Camp Grounds for missing campers in the flood ravaged area on Saturday but came home bearing only more bodies. There have been reports that up to 300 people were in the vicinity at the time of the flood. Survivors described a torrent of water that arrived without warning, sweeping through the Ouachita National Forest and catching campers and families vacationing in hillside cabins completely unaware in the dead of night. The forest's remote location complicated rescue efforts. Some 177-228mm of rainwater funnelled down hillsides into the valleys early on Friday. The Caddo and Little Missouri rivers rose from 0.9m to 7m in about three hours, wiping out trailers, campsites and people. "I've seen flooding before, but I've never seen water do this kind of damage."
Police have now drastically cut their search to just three missing campers.
CHINA – UNUSUALLY heavy seasonal flooding has killed at least 155 people and forced more than 1 million to flee as some areas reached their HIGHEST WATER LEVELS IN MORE THAN A DECADE. Direct economic losses total $6.5 billion, with the country's southeast hit especially hard. Virtually all of the major rivers were swollen, and water levels in lakes along the Yangtze River were higher than in 1998, when catastrophic flooding killed about 4,000 people.
OKLAHOMA, ARKANSAS – Heavy rains have inundated Oklahoma City, stranding motorists on flooded roads and leaving swaths of the city under water. Rescue workers scoured the city by boat to help people left clinging to trees and waiting on roofs. The flooding has caused massive damage but officials had no reports of deaths. In Oklahoma City, officials warned motorists to stay away as roads were transformed into virtual rivers and low-lying areas turned to lakes.
Meanwhile, police in the state of Arkansas have found the body of a 20th person killed when heavy rain flooded camping areas early on Friday. Checks are being carried out to determine whether the girl is the last person reported missing since the flash floods, which sent a wall of water crashing through the area in the middle of the night.
CHINA – At least 16 people died today and seven others were injured when part of a mountain collapsed on work sheds at a construction site in southwestern China. The huge landslide happened in the early hours in Sichuan province's Kangding county and rescue work was under way. Some people were missing, but no figure was given. Landslides are common in China during the rainy season in spring and summer. Last month, at least 19 people were killed and another 71 injured when a train derailed in a mountainous area of east China after a landslide damaged the tracks.
BANGLADESH – Landslides triggered by heavy rains have killed at least 23 people and left several others missing in southeastern Bangladesh. Mudslides struck early today in two areas in the southern coastal area. 19 bodies have been recovered. Another landslide has killed four members of a family in a separate area. Huge chunks of mud buried the victims' home. Rescue operations are continuing but rains are hampering efforts.
FRANCE – Heavy rains triggered flash floods in the mountains above France's southern Cote d'Azur region, killing at least 10 people. Another four people were still missing. The rains yesterday caused water levels to rise swiftly by several metres, preventing many people from fleeing to higher ground and forcing some to seek shelter on the roofs of their homes. Overnight, rescue workers concentrated on helping hundreds of people trapped in their vehicles, houses or on rooftops. There were deaths in the towns of Arcs, Draguignan, Luc, Muy and Roquebrune-sur-Argens. Five bodies had been identified, but the bodies of the other five had not yet been recovered.
"We HAVEN'T SEEN ANYTHING LIKE THIS IN A DECADE." 180 millimetres of rain fell within 12 hours. "In a few minutes the water rose by 50, then 60 centimetres. And it is up to two metres." Such was the extent of the flooding that empty vehicles, cars and lorries alike, were floating down the street. The rising water also trapped a high speed train travelling from the southern city of Nice to Lille in the north at Luc with 300 passengers on board. More than a thousand people were involved in the rescue operations, including hundreds drafted in from other regions. About 175,000 homes in the region are without electricity.
CHINA – At least 42 people have died and 36 are missing after torrential downpours in southern China triggered heavy floods, and authorities warned of more rain to come. More than 100,000 residents were evacuated from their homes due to the floods, which damaged 7000 houses and caused economic losses of 830 million yuan ($US120 million). The provinces of Fujian and Sichuan, in China's southeast and southwest respectively, as well as the southern region of Guangxi were the hardest hit. Torrential rains that started battering parts of southern China on Monday were expected to continue for the next three days. Local authorities were warned to prepare for more flooding and disasters such as landslides. On Tuesday, 23 people were killed when part of a mountain made loose by heavy rain cascaded onto a construction site in Sichuan, slamming into tents where workers were sleeping. It was not clear whether they were included in the reported flood death toll.
BANGLADESH – At least 42 people have now been killed by landslides and flash floods in southeastern Bangladesh and dozens more are missing. Most of the southeast experienced heavy rainfall with 24.2 centimetres (9.5 inches) falling in many areas in 24 hours. In the worst affected area of Teknaf – which is on the border with Myanmar and home to hundreds of thousands of ethnic Rohingya refugees – at least 25 people were killed and six missing. "All the roads are under water. We can't reach areas where thousands of people are trapped by the floods." Around 15,000 Rohingya refugees living in camps – both legal and illegal – around Teknaf have been affected by the floods. "Hundreds of bamboo shacks have been washed away by the rains." Conditions are dire in the unofficial camps where people have been without food for two days since the heavy rain began. "Flash floods are the worst thing that could have happened to us. People are living under the sky and we haven't had food for two days as we can't cook in the rain with no shelter."
Further down the coast, at least 13 people – including six soldiers – have died in the southern resort area of Cox's Bazaar. An army barracks at the foot of a hill was destroyed by a landslide, with all the soldiers on duty and at least 20 army vehicles buried in the mud. The rescue effort was progressing slowly as the landslides had blocked key roads across the Cox's Bazaar and Bandarban districts. Weather officials have forecast further rains due to a major depression in the Bay of Bengal.
MYANMAR – Floods and landslides have killed at least 46 people in northwest Myanmar and rescue workers are evacuating residents affected by the incessant rains. The deaths occurred Tuesday in northern Rakhine state bordering Bangladesh, which had been battered by heavy rain for two days. Local authorities were continuing to aid victims and trying to open a key road damaged by the torrents. Bridges also were washed out in the region. 28 people were killed when houses built on mountains collapsed due to landslides in Buthidaung, 360 miles (576 kilometers) northwest of Yangon and 18 others died in Maundaw, south of Buthidaung. Flooding is common during the monsoon season that typically starts in late May. Cyclone Nargis struck Myanmar in May 2008, leaving more than 140,000 people dead or missing.
BP engineer called doomed rig a 'nightmare well' – BP took measures to cut costs in the weeks before the catastrophic blowout in the Gulf of Mexico as it dealt with one problem after another, prompting a BP engineer to describe the doomed rig as a "nightmare well," according to internal documents released Monday. The comment by a BP engineer came in an e-mail April 14, six days before the Deepwater Horizon rig explosion that killed 11 people and has sent tens of millions of gallons of oil into the Gulf in the nation's worst environmental disaster.
BP made at least five questionable decisions in the days leading up to the explosion. "The common feature of these five decisions is that they posed a trade-off between cost and well safety. Time after time, it appears that BP made decisions that increased the risk of a blowout to save the company time or expense."
In securing the final section of the deepwater well, the company apparently chose a riskier option among two possibilities – running a single string of steel casing from the seafloor to the bottom of the well, instead of hanging a steel liner with a "tieback" on top. Despite warnings from its own engineers, "BP chose the more risky casing option, apparently because the liner option would have cost $7 to $10 million more and taken longer. BP apparently rejected advice of a subcontractor, Halliburton Inc., in preparing for a cementing job to close up the well. BP rejected Halliburton's recommendation to use 21 "centralizers" to make sure the casing ran down the center of the well bore. Instead, BP used six centralizers. An official recognized the risks of proceeding with insufficient centralizers but commented: "who cares, it's done, end of story, will probably be fine."
BP also decided against a nine- to 12-hour procedure known as a "cement bond log" that would have tested the integrity of the cement. A team from an oil services firm was on board the rig, but BP sent the team home on a regularly scheduled helicopter flight the morning of April 20. Less than 12 hours later, the rig exploded. BP also failed to fully circulate drilling mud, a 12-hour procedure that could have helped detect gas pockets that later shot up the well and exploded on the drilling rig.
“THING COULD REALLY EXPLODE”; “Billion potential barrels of oil” under BP’s ruptured well. CNN’s first mention of concerns about the structural integrity of BP’s blown-out well occurred on June 16 with Wolf Blitzer, during an interview with a member of the government’s Flow Rate Technical Group.
"One expert said to me — and I don’t know if this is overblown or not — that they’re still really concerned about the structural base of this whole operation, if the rocks get moved, this thing could really explode and they’re sitting, what, on — on a billion potential barrels of oil at the bottom of the Gulf of Mexico. Is that a real concern or is that just out of the question, unrealistic?"
"Well, I’ve heard concerns about the structural integrity of the well. In particularly, with the “top kill” — the attempted “top kill,” lots of cement and drilling mud was pumped into the well. And it didn’t come shooting back out of the well and yet it didn’t stop things. So there is some conjecture that the — the casing of the well is — is faulty at some point."
BP’s ruptured well could flow for 25 to 30 years at a rate of 120,000 barrels a day. 120,000 barrels/day for * 365 days/year, for 25 years = 1.095 billion barrels
Senator confirms reports that wellbore is pierced; oil seeping from seabed in multiple places.
Oil Expert: BP must ‘keep the well flowing to minimize oil and gas going out into the formation on the side’.
Bush Energy Adviser: Relief well will fail, 46 billion gallons could flow into Gulf. "It hasn’t gotten out, but we now know a whole lot of better information from the scientists who are totally, totally disputing what BP’s story has been.
The best reports all have come from the Thomas Jefferson, which is America’s largest research vessel, which got directed on June 6… [to] get to where this enormous fire was coming that was miles away from the riser. What the Thomas Jefferson found in a week was the most specific info we know, that basically 1,100 meters below the surface of the Gulf of Mexico is a 400-(300 to 400) meter lake of very heavy oil that has spread so fast that it’s POTENTIALLY COVERING 40% OF THE GULF OF MEXICO…They are almost certain, because of the lack of being able to detect where the well bore was, because they couldn’t get within 3 miles of it, there was too much fire, there was no metal there, so – the casing is gone. So with no casing, its an open hole. And the only way we’ll ever put it out is detonating something that will fuse the rock right above the oil column into glass. And the only way that anyone’s ever done that is the four times the Soviets did that in the 70’s with a very small bore nuclear device. So I think that’s now our only option…The relief well won't work without casing – without casing, the mud just comes spewing back up. …We either are content with saying, we’ll just put 120,000 barrels in the Gulf for the next 25-30 years or we have to detonate it. … I think the government — we will find — is going to take all of their [BP's] cash.
Oil Expert: Only way to shut well off is to “let it complete which might take 30 years” or “a nuclear device”; Hurricane will “paint the Gulf Coast black”. "We have an open hole that’s spewing I would guess somewhere between 100,000 – 150,000 barrels a day of oil which is why you now have over A HUNDRED MILE OIL LAKE AT THE BOTTOM OF THE GULF OF MEXICO THAT'S APPARENTLY 400-500 FEET DEEP. We have an open hole with no casing in it and the only way we’ll shut it off is either let it complete which might take 30 years which could maybe not only poison the Gulf of Mexico but maybe the Atlantic Ocean or to put a nuclear device down the hole…When the hurricanes arrive, the hurricane actually blows this oil on shore it will basically paint the Gulf Coast black and it will shut down the refineries, the power plants and it will be America’s worst catastrophe nightmare.
“For every one bird” found dead “99 were carried out to sea by currents” – BP knows… a boom can only deflect oil under the calmest of sea conditions, not barricade it — so they have stepped up their already aggressive effort to control what the public sees. …BP is… raking up carcasses of oiled seabirds. “The heads separate from the bodies,” one upset resident told me. “There’s no way those birds are going to be autopsied.”…
The body count of affected wildlife is crucial to prove the harm caused by the spill, and also serves as an invaluable tool to evaluate damages to public property – the dolphins, sea turtles, whales, sea birds, fish, and more, that are owned by the American public. Disappeared body counts means disappeared damages – and disappeared liability for BP. BP should not be collecting carcasses. The job should be given to NOAA, a federal agency, and volunteers, as was done during the Exxon Valdez oil spill in Alaska. NOAA should also be conducting carcass drift studies. Only one percent of the dead sea birds made landfall in the Gulf of Alaska, for example. That means for every one bird that was found, another 99 were carried out to sea by currents. Further, NOAA should be conducting aerial surveys to look for carcasses in the offshore rips where the currents converge. That’s where the carcasses will pile up – a fact we learned during the Exxon Valdez spill.

RUSSIA – On Saturday, Moscow was gripped by A RECORD HIGH TEMPERATURE of 31 degrees Celsius (about 88 degrees Fahrenheit). The previous temperature record for June 12 was set in 1998 with 30.8 degrees Celsius.
Sunspot 1081 is crackling with C- and M-class solar flares. A strong M2-class flare on June 12th (0055 UT) sparked a bright flash of extreme ultraviolet radiation, propelled a shock wave through the sun's atmosphere, and hurled a billion-ton coronal mass ejection (CME) into space. The CME is expected to miss Earth — so no auroras. The M-flare also produced a Type II radio burst. Sunspot 1081 appears to be in a state of slight decay, but that has not stopped the flares. Indeed, the decay may be contributing to magnetic instabilities underlying these explosions. (video)
A solar wind stream flowing from a coronal hole is expected to hit Earth on June 16th or 17th.
Jupiter Impact: Mystery of the Missing Debris – On June 3rd, 2010, something hit Jupiter. A comet or asteroid descended from the black of space, struck the planet's cloudtops, and disintegrated, producing a flash of light so bright it was visible in backyard telescopes on Earth. Soon, observers around the world were training their optics on the impact site, waiting to monitor the cindery cloud of debris which always seems to accompany a strike of this kind. They're still waiting.
"It's as if Jupiter just swallowed the thing whole." "It was thrilling to see the impact, but the absence of any visible debris has got us scratching our heads." Indeed, it is a bit of a puzzle. "We've seen things hit Jupiter before, and the flash of impact has always been followed by some kind of debris." So where is the debris this time?
A possibility offered by some observers is that the flash wasn't an impact at all. Maybe it was a giant Jovian lightning bolt. But "NASA spacecraft have seen lightning on Jupiter many times before, but only on the planet's nightside. This dayside event would have to be unimaginably more powerful than any previous bolt we've seen. Even Jupiter doesn't produce lightning that big."
Curiously, the impactor (if indeed this was an impact event) struck right in the middle of Jupiter's South Equatorial Belt (SEB), one of the two broad stripes that girdle the planet. This is "curious" because the SEB itself vanished earlier this year. The missing belt may still exist, just temporarily hidden underneath some high-altitude cirrus clouds.
The best remaining hypothesis is that the impactor was small, packing just enough punch to make a flash, but without leaving much debris. One thing is sure: "JUPITER IS GETTING HIT MORE THAN WE EXPECTED. Back in the days of Shoemaker-Levy 9 (SL-9), we calculated that we should see an impact on Jupiter once every hundred years or so. We considered ourselves extraordinarily lucky to witness the SL-9 event. But look where we are now. Anthony Wesley has observed two impacts within the past 12 months alone. It's time to revise our impact models [particularly for small impactors]." (photos & video)
"The earth is going to be hit by a barrage of solar flares in 2013 when the sun's magnetic energy cycle coincides with its 11-year peak in super-powered-sunspot activity — but this time it wasn't a maverick amateur making the predictions. It was freakin' NASA." The once-in-a-generation occurrence has gone broadly unnoticed in the past but has the potential to destroy all the computer systems on which our modern world relies: Bank accounts, medical records, business records, and entire websites could all disappear. The solar flares generate massive shifts in magnetic activity, which could potentially lead to blackouts, communications failing, TV and radio networks disappearing. "We know it's coming but we don't know how bad it's going to be. Systems will just not work. The flares rapidly change the magnetic field on the earth, like a lightning bolt. That is the solar effect." "The sun is now waking up. It's been very inactive, but there's a lot of debate about how dramatic its waking up will be. It's not scaremongering."
Britain could face widespread power blackouts and be left without critical communication signals for long periods of time, after the earth is hit by a once-in-a-generation “space storm”, Nasa has warned. National power grids could overheat and air travel severely disrupted while electronic items, navigation devices and major satellites could stop working after the Sun reaches its maximum power in a few years. Senior space agency scientists believe the Earth will be hit with UNPRECEDENTED levels of magnetic energy from solar flares after the Sun wakes “from a deep slumber” sometime around 2013.
In a new warning, Nasa said the super storm would hit like “a bolt of lightning” and could cause catastrophic consequences for the world’s health, emergency services and national security unless precautions are taken. Scientists believe it could damage everything from emergency services’ systems, hospital equipment, banking systems and air traffic control devices, through to “everyday” items such as home computers, iPods and Sat Navs. Due to humans’ heavy reliance on electronic devices, which are sensitive to magnetic energy, the storm could leave a multi-billion pound damage bill and “potentially devastating” problems for governments. “It will disrupt communication devices such as satellites and car navigations, air travel, the banking system, our computers, everything that is electronic. It will cause major problems for the world. Large areas will be without electricity power and to repair that damage will be hard as that takes time.”
A “space weather” conference in Washington DC last week, attended by Nasa scientists, policy-makers, researchers and government officials, was told of similar warnings. The storm, which will cause the Sun to reach temperatures of more than 10,000 F (5500C), occurs only a few times over a person’s life. Every 22 years the Sun’s magnetic energy cycle peaks, while the number of sun spots – or flares – hits a maximum level every 11 years. These two events will combine in 2013 to produce huge levels of radiation. “There is a severe economic impact from this. We take it very seriously. The economic impact could be like a large, major hurricane or storm.” A powerful solar storm could cause “twenty times more economic damage than Hurricane Katrina”.
The U.S. House of Representatives last Wednesday passed the “Grid Reliability and Infrastructure Defense Act” which is intended to bolster the national electric grid against terrorist attacks, cyber threats, electromagnetic pulse weapons and SOLAR STORMS. The Act authorizes the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission to issue emergency orders to protect critical electric infrastructure, and to take other measures to address current and potential vulnerabilities.
“The electric grid’s vulnerability to cyber and to other attacks is one of the single greatest threats to our national security." The floor debate on the bill was a somewhat jarring mix of prudent anticipation and extravagant doomsday warnings. “Scientists tell us that THE LIKELIHOOD OF A SEVERE NATURALLY OCCURRING GEOMAGNETIC EVENT CAPABLE OF CRIPPLING OUR ELECTRIC GRID IS 100%. It will happen; it is just a question of when.”
Potentially Damaging 2011 Meteor Shower – NASA is assessing the risk to spacecraft posed by the upcoming 2011 Draconid meteor shower, a seven-hour storm of tiny space rocks that has the potential to ding major Earth-orbiting spacecraft like the crewed International Space Station and Hubble Space Telescope. There has been some variation in the projected intensity levels of the 2011 Draconids by meteoroid forecasters. But spacecraft operators are already being notified to weigh defensive steps. Current meteor forecast models project a strong Draconid outburst, possibly a full-blown storm, on Oct. 8, 2011.
The Draconids do present some risk to spacecraft. They could potentially become the next significant event in low-Earth orbit as far as meteoroids are concerned. The yearly Draconids are not known for their bright meteor displays. A Marshall Space Flight Center Meteoroid Stream Model based on radar and optical observations of past Draconid showers suggests that the maximum rate will be several hundreds per hour. A significant fraction of spacecraft anomalies produced by shower meteoroids are caused by electrostatic discharges when meteoroid meets satellite. And while no spacecraft electrical problems were reported during the strong Draconid outbursts of 1985 and 1998, the lack of past anomalies should not be taken as carte blanche for satellite operators to ignore in 2011. The chance of electrical anomalies is low, however, due to the Draconids slow speed.
The International Space Station is heavily armored against orbital debris. That being the case, "we don't expect anything to go wrong there…Even if the Draconids were a full-scale meteor storm I would be confident that the space station program would take the right steps to mitigate the risk." For the Hubble Space Telescope, if its operators deem the risk high enough, they will point the observatory away from the Draconid radiant – the point from which the shower appears to emanate. "Any time you take a mitigation strategy, like changing a spacecraft's attitude or turning off high-voltage, that incurs risk as well." The spacecraft threat from meteor showers in the past – particularly the 1998 Leonids – produced more hype than hypervelocity impacts. "We're like the weather reporters…our forecast changes…and the general trend is always downward." Still, caution is the watchword. "Because we can now forecast them, we have a way of putting it. If you are hit by a sporadic [meteor], it's an act of God. If you are hit by a shower meteoroid, it's an act of negligence."
BALL OF FIRE? – A Canadian meteorite expert says a strange ball of fire that landed in a P.E.I. farmer's field last Saturday was not from a meteor. A man said he was sitting on his front yard when he saw a ball of fire land in his field. He said it was about the size of a football. On Tuesday, after examining the site northeast of Summerside, the expert said he was disappointed but not surprised to discover that a meteorite was not the cause of the fire. "We had a slight hope, I gave the estimate as one chance in a thousand there was a meteorite." Fire officials recovered a handful of what looked like ash. A meteorite looks like a rock, with metallic bits in it. The substance found by firefighters was too flaky to be a meteorite. "Most meteorites would not break up into totally just flakes of stuff, which is what that looked like." The last meteorite recovered in Atlantic Canada was found in 1959.
P.E.I.'s fire marshal, said he's not sure what fell from the sky in Grahams Road. He said it may have been a flare or a firecracker, but no one in the area saw anything that would match that type of activity. "If it were going to lead somewhere, to us having to come up with a definitive answer, we're just going to have to accept the fact that we had an incident here and we can't explain it away." The investigation is over and the origin of the ball of fire will remain a mystery.
Windscreen [windshield] wiper water may be the cause of 20% of cases of Legionnaires' Disease in England and Wales. Stagnant, warm water is a breeding ground for the Legionella bacterium, which when inhaled causes pneumonia. Yet adding screenwash [windshield wiper fluid] kills the bacteria. The finding came after researchers spotted that professional drivers are five times more likely to be infected.
Legionnaires' disease is fairly rare, but it's an extremely unpleasant disease. Most cases are sporadic and the source of the infection is often not found. The number of cases vary from year to year, but in 2009 there were 345 in England and Wales – although some infections were caught overseas. It mainly affects the over 50s and is generally more common in men. Early symptoms feel similar to flu with muscle aches, tiredness, headaches, dry cough and fever. It is fatal in around 10-15% of patients. "It does not spread from person to person but is present in water environments and is breathed in when it gets into the air in fine particles or mist."
In people who spend a long time driving, those most at risk were those who drove or travelled in a van, those who drove through industrial areas, and those who spent a lot of time in the car or who often had the car window open. The biggest risk was associated with not adding screenwash to windscreen wiper water. In a pilot study, traces of Legionella were found in one in five cars that did not have screenwash, but in no cars that did.
Study raises questions about age-group impact of H1N1 – A study by French researchers suggests that the H1N1 influenza pandemic may not have differed from seasonal influenza epidemics in its effects on different age-groups quite so much as has been supposed.

Signs in False Shepherds/Religion
For among them are those who worm their way into households and capture idle women burdened down with sins, led along by a variety of passions, always learning and never able to come to a knowledge of the truth. Just as Jannes and Jambres resisted Moses, so these also resist the truth, men who are corrupt in mind, worthless in regard to the faith. But they will not make further progress, for their lack of understanding will be clear to all, as theirs was also. 2 Timothy 3:6-9

The Hidden Wealth of the Catholic Church
WURZBERG, Germany, June 15, 2010
Shortly before Pentecost, Pastor S. received an unexpected early morning visit, not from the Holy Ghost, but from the police.
For the authorities, the words of the Gospel of Luke came true on that morning: He who seeks finds. More than €131,000 ($158,000) were hidden in various places in the rooms of the Catholic priest, tucked in between his laundry or attached to the bottom of drawers. The reverend was arrested on the spot. After several weeks in custody, Hans S., 76, is now back at the monastery, waiting for his trial.
