The Minister’s Corner
“You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” John 8:32
Submitted by Johanna
She’s down on her knees, with head
bowed in prayer;
She looks weak and helpless, as she’s
But the truth of the matter about this
Is that she’s battling forces that our eyes
And her power is greater than earth’s
Against the army of Satan she
She’s casting down strongholds and
tearing down walls;
She’s releasing the captives as she prays
for them all.
She’s waging spiritual war, with God in
She finds strength for the conflict in the
blood of the Lamb.
So the next time you see her with head
bowed in prayer,
Remember, there’s a battle going on there.

This Little Cross
This little cross around my neck
serves to remind me every day
of things that are truly important
and help guide me along the Way.
This little cross is a symbol of love
and hangs on a delicate chain,
it represents so many things
like the life through him I gained.
This little cross is so delicate
but to me it says so much more;
it’s a symbol of his love and beauty
and what the sacrifice was for.
This little cross formed of silver
makes me think of being refined
and that once I was so very lost
and how once I was also blind.
This little cross I wear continuously;
serves to remind me to whom I belong,
and of who gets me through the days,
when I’m feeling less than strong.
This little cross lays over my heart,
and is a symbol of whom I serve
it speaks of to whom I am loyal
for all who might observe.
This little cross shines brightly
when captured just the right way
reminding me: “Reach for Father’s light
and from Her path do not stray.”
Traveling Through Darkness, Returning To Light
Matthew 17:17 Jesus replied, “You unbelieving and rebellious generation! How long will I be with you? How long must I put up with you? Bring him here to Me.”
Most days we come across people and stories of those who simply do not believe the truth. They argue and make excuses about why they don’t, but those arguments and excuses will not be accepted as valid in the coming days.
1 Timothy 6:4 he is conceited, understanding nothing, but having a sick interest in disputes and arguments over words. From these come envy, quarreling, slanders, evil suspicions,
Ephesians 5:6 [ Light versus Darkness ] Let no one deceive you with empty arguments, for because of these things God’s wrath is coming on the disobedient.
Romans 1:20 From the creation of the world His invisible attributes, that is, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what He has made. As a result, people are without excuse.
Do not be drawn into questioning Yahweh’s plan or timing. For who can know the depths of our God?
Jeremiah 5:4 Then I thought: They are just the poor; they have played the fool. For they don’t understand the way of the LORD, the justice of their God.
Peter 3:9 The Lord does not delay His promise, as some understand delay, but is patient with you, not wanting any to perish, but all to come to repentance.
Isaiah 40:31 but those who trust in the LORD will renew their strength; they will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary; they will walk and not faint
Have faith and be confident in the LORD. May the gift of peace come over you and comfort you. And may the love and light of God flow through you to the world.
Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which surpasses every thought, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
2 Corinthians 4:6 For God, who said, “Light shall shine out of darkness” —He has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of God’s glory in the face of Jesus Christ.
Actions That Lead To Valor
Submitted by Jeshaiah
Proverbs 8:6 — Listen, for I speak of noble things, and what my lips say is right.
Valor and great acts of courage are items that are held up high and are often key values displayed in many movies and television shows. Such acts and individuals that exemplify valor can be heard of in conversations throughout one’s youth and even further. Even in real life, outside of a projected image, rewards and news are given for those who show valor. Valor, at first, may be thought of courage and battlefield glory…here is the definition from Dictionary.com:
Valor – boldness or determination in facing great danger, esp. in battle; heroic courage; bravery: a medal for valor.
To a great extent, much of everything a person does can relate to a battle, though, not in a violent or negative way. It can take great strength to do the right thing in a difficult time and situation. Even after helping a poor and homeless person with shelter and rest, it can be difficult if others criticize oneself. Here are some examples of valor in scripture:
2 Samuel 23:16 — So three of the warriors broke through the Philistine camp and drew water from the well at the gate of Bethlehem. They brought it back to David, but he refused to drink it. Instead, he poured it out to the LORD.
2 Corinthians 11:25 — Three times I was beaten with rods.
Once I was stoned.
Three times I was shipwrecked.
I have spent a night and a day in the depths of the sea.
Everything that Christ taught encouraged strength and courage. At the same time, He taught:
Matthew 6:3 — But when you give to the poor, don’t let your left hand know what your right hand is doing,
The acts of bravery recorded when David faced Goliath did not occur because of the seeking of acting bravely. According to the account, when David reacted to the Philistine’s challenge, David did not shrink back, but went to his king to respond to the challenge. In the same way, people may face a Goliath of a situation, and go to Christ to respond to the challenge.
In these end times, helping the poor does not win oneself any honorary recognition, and sometimes a difficult situation may just come by a person. In every part of a person’s life, though, Father’s valor in one’s heart can be strengthened and shared with others. In this, the mustard seed can be grown further and rooted deeper, weathering even terrible storms and helping to protect those that seek shelter.
We would like to announce the arrival of Book Two, the continuation of Chosen: End Times Truths Revealed.
Book Two starts where the first book left off and includes accounts from ministers Regina, Johanna, Deborah, Jeshaiah and Elisha, describing their individual journeys and experiences in their service to Yahweh and Christ over the past several years in autobiographical form.
It is available in .pdf form for free via www.chosen.weebly.com and will be updated monthly.
The Journey Continues
Below is a sneak-peek of each of the books included in Chosen, Book Two
There are many days in which I feel as though I must stop and focus and just try to get through the next 24 hours, some days even just the next hour, and then that day passes and the next arrives and passes, and arrives until all of a sudden a year has passed, and then two and four and now five. It’s odd how time can seem to pass so slowly and quickly at the same time. Many of these days, the good and the not-so-good, I will recount here and many have receded to the deeper recesses of my mind but what I’m able to remember, I share with you here honestly and openly…
On October 2nd or 3rd of 2005, I was on this website were there were camera’s placed through out peoples homes who claimed that they were being haunted. I have always liked supernatural things. I believed in ghost, angels and demons. I started talking to this woman and asked her how she see’s the things that she does. I also told her that I believed in spirit guides. She told me that she couldn’t help me with the guides but that she knew of a website where I could find some answers. She sent me the link to a forum by the name of “Beyond This World”. After looking at a few things and noticing that they had psychic exercises I decided to sign up to become a member…
Word came to us toward the end of May 2010 that we were to begin documenting our experiences ending where Chosen left off. Each Minister is to produce a “book” of our own that will be incorporated into Chosen. Its a little daunting to say the least. I have not been journaling as Regina has been (it isn’t something I naturally do). Also, I actually do not have a very good memory. But I trust that those things that Father wishes us to recall we will. We have been guided by Michael to read the book of ACTS to guide us. It seems to focus on events that show times of strong guidance from/interactions with Holy Spirit…
When I first began searching for Truth, I had the idea that perhaps each of the different denominations of churches had a separate piece of the puzzle that needed to all be put together. It did come to mind that perhaps there already was someone or a group out there that already had all the pieces together, but I did not know of a way to find them. So, for the most part, I trusted in Father, whom I did not know the name of at the time, to guide me. I had visited various churches and sought to come to have an understanding for what they understood…
In 2006, I was able to reconnect with a long time friend. I found out she had co-authored a book. Considering how we had grown up together I was interested in the fact that she had written one and wanted to read it myself. She, Regina, sent me the book and some more details about it. I found out it was a lot to take in and did so in baby steps with much prayer and guidance from Father. I was blessed to freely ask any question of Regina and felt comfortable in doing so. I read the book with an open mind and while some of it confirmed my deepest suspicions other information provided was such an eye-opener…
Nourishment from the Throne
“For the LORD gives wisdom. From His mouth come knowledge and understanding.” Proverbs 2:6
Regina: I’d always thought the demons were reanimated via the furnace but of course that does make sense that they wouldn’t. Another reason being perhaps because they are not permitted to go beyond the Azmon Barrier – unless they are spent energy being transported to the Orange Plane, correct? Also, thinking of Mt. Zion now brings to mind a volcano – a mountain with fire atop it. Thank you for sharing this, you definitely helped to connect some of the dots wandering around aimlessly in my mind.
Jaddai: That’s correct. The demons are reanimated without use of the furnace. The furnace is considered a holy instrument, and therefore no unholy thing is permitted to enter it. Once fallen from perfection with no hope of being reinstated to Father’s family, all necessary reanimations must occur outside the furnace. The reason Christ was reanimated outside the furnace was because he was an example of what occurs when you pass over as a ghost in order to cross over as a finer spirit as a holy ghost. Keep in mind that Christ was not only the Savior, but also represents the CROSS of SALVATION in spiritual form. Therefore he created the bridge of the Cross that permitted crossing over by virtue of his Sacrifice that led the way for others to follow, and his reanimation sealed the crossing over that was required in order to be ordained by Father as being HOLY. The CROSS – the SEAL – the WAY.
Also correct that demons are transported to the Orange Plane. Either imprisoned or tossed in there as spent energy.
Ezekiel 35:3 “Say to it: This is what the Lord GOD says: Look! I am against you, Mount Seir. I will stretch out My hand against you and make you a desolate waste.”
Ezekiel 35:7 “I will make Mount Seir a desolate waste and will cut off from it those who come and go.”
Mount Seir is also the name of a Mount that exists within the Orange Plane. The demons that are imprisoned there cannot leave its confinement unless Father permits them to return to the spiritual war.
Malachi 2:3 “Look, I am going to rebuke your descendants, and I will spread animal waste over your faces, the waste from your festival sacrifices, and you will be taken away with it.”
The demons are considered as nothing more than waste material.
Elisha: When you say “laid out like the spiritual realm”… does that mean the same things exist here as there or are you saying that it is also in the same place – location wise? Like a lake in a location here and if I were “here” in the spiritual realm, I would see the same or a lake in the same place?
Jaddai: It’s not stupid. I understand the confusion. The spirit realm is laid out over the visible things that exist. But, there are also other things in the spirit realm that do not exist in the visible reality. They are cities, fortresses, and many other things. However Elisha, everything that you see from this side is also viewed from the other side. The difference is in its energy makeup. If you see an electrical line on a light pole over here, the spirit not only sees the line, but also sees the electrical current traveling through the line. Then you have the space that exists. In distance, Heaven itself is far away.
Angels are light, therefore we travel at the speed of light. But, even space has its boundaries. This is because all things exist within the body of Father. So, if we are required to travel much more quickly than the speed of light, then this is utilized: A detour around space can be effected by making use of what scientist refer to as “wormholes.” This is necessary because to try and travel beyond the speed of light makes our energy mass heavier, therefore it becomes impossible to go beyond that law of Father’s without using a detour where Father’s body – or space bends or curves back in on itself. Taking a detour permits any angel to take a shortcut to the place he or she has been dispatched to. This is another law of Father’s used by angelic hosts called “splitting the expanse effect.”
Father is massive in Her makeup of energy, as a massive energy She literally bends areas of the expanse or space with Her body’s gravity. Father is a fixed energy or perhaps better said fixed object, so that you understand how She works in the scheme of things. Knowing Her boundaries of the expanse gives the ability to use the splitting effect which allows for a shortcut to one place from another.
I hope that helps you to better understand how things are tied together by both realms. Consider this: The energy that creates the kitchen table in your home, or any other visible object, it comes from the other realm, and on the other side it exists in a flowing energy form, whereas you see and touch it in a solid more seemingly stable form from this side,. However, if you are spirit, then the flowing energy – or active energy which appears more particled and moving, then it is more suited to your needs on the other side. It simply depends on the vessel and the makeup of the realm you live within.
Elisha: So Father recycles the energy in to raw energy and in order to continue living, the raw energy must be consumed but I’m wondering, is that something that just naturally happens or is it something that is done purposely, like remembering to eat?
Jaddai: Father Herself does not require refined or an outside energy source to have a continued existence. She is the SOURCE of life, but does not feed on Herself to continue Her own life. She is simply self-sustaining. The reason She recycles spent energy is because if She produced new energy Her boundaries would not remain constant. And Father has the capability to produce new energy. But to have reliable laws that can made use of, then She must remain constant in Her form or makeup. This is why She is the same today, yesterday, and forever. If She does not change, not only in mental makeup, but also physical, then you have reliability that what you have learned can be counted on to be there when you make use of Her laws. Hebrews 13:8 “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” Christ is set in Father’s exact image, therefore he represents the same identical Way that Father is.
The reason Father recycles the spent energy, is so that Her spirits feed off of Her for continued life as Her being the True Source of LIfe, and so that it is not necessary for the expanse to be widened at this present time. However, in the future, Father’s boundary of the expanse will widen as She expands creation, and then new laws will be instituted that will cover the new grander things that are planned for the further expansion and the creation as a whole.
Spiritual War News
The Sons of Light against the Sons of Darkness
Jun 29, 2010
Joe – Jaddai just told me that Seraiah has left for Orion to try and speak with Arieldamascus. Evidently they know each other.
Jun 30, 2010
Joe – Seraiah was not permitted to go to Orion. Michael called him back, telling him he could not afford to lose another Commander in a vain attempt to communicate with the enemy. Hodaviah said Seraiah had a stern look about his face after the meeting and then went over Michael’s head and straight to Father at Mount Zion’s Mountain Top I can just see Seraiah doing that As it turns out, Seraiah is missing. Father’s not talking, and Michael is assuming the worst. Not that Seraiah defected, but that he received permission from Father to go to Orion by himself. So here is what we believed has happened. Seraiah told Hodaviah before going to our Mother that he believed he could go all the way to Orion cloaked, and enter there without being detected. You would have to understand how the cloaking effect works and how much energy is expended to appreciate that the idea was probably a wash out.
Michael didn’t like any of Seraiah’s ideas and simply refused everything he put on the table. But now we believe he has gone there. And on top of that, Seraiah told Hodaviah that he was not going to let Dawn get away with escape to the expanse. Not on his watch anyway. So Seraiah was determined to turn the tables on Satan, and in the process he wanted to cripple the Joint Command. So in the conversing with Hodaviah, he said he knew he could not remain cloaked and cloak Dawn to in order to drag him back to the detention plane against his will. That it would be to much energy expended. So his plan was that he would off Satan, and if possible, off Arieldamascus at the same time and cripple the command structure of the JA at the top. It would depend on whether or not the two of them were together at the time Seraiah took action.
We think that Seraiah followed through on at least part of his plan, because the report Jaddai sent in in a dispatch reveals something major happened at Orion about two hours ago. Hopefully Seraiah did not off himself in the process, because what he did was not a positive – negative energy related event. Anti-matter will off both sides regardless of their energy pole settings. But in time we will know exactly what happened.
I’ll update when I learn any news.

Jaddai said that the facility is named after a star’s vicinity, like the earth is to our Sun and not the actual star as the location. I’m sorry about that children. I’ve never visited Orion.
Jeshaiah – Hopefully Seraiah was successful without his loss.
Regina – Thank you again for the updates – we’re all very anxious to hear each twist and turn the War takes.
Johanna – Thank you Joe for keeping us up to date on what is going on.
I have this feeling that Aradon has been injured but not OFFed. I also “see” that I played a part in him not being OFFed like I held off the enemy or OFFed them.
Joe – You’re welcome Jeshaiah And thank you. Some of this taxes even my mind to keep up with it all.
Here’s what Michael now knows. Seraiah would have expended to much energy to travel cloaked and at light speed – that’s the speed of light And if he traveled at any less speed, he would still be traveling there sometime after Christ’s Millennium starts How do you like the way I’ve picked up on using those icons? But as I was trying to say, that is out of the question traveling at slow or even moderate speed. If you’ve ever dreamed you were flying, and you picked up speed, that is basically how it actually works on the other side. You children have been dumped on with so much new insight about what the other side is like, and I know its got to be hard to comprehend, but as you skip along in these turn of events that have happened, you will start to pick up on what works over there and what doesn’t. Like over here, you have laws, and it’s no different over there. But anyhoo cause I’m tired of anyhow, Michael was concerned that perhaps Seraiah was not the cause of what’s happened at Orion.
That he might instead have been abducted by either Satan’s demons here in the detention plane, or maybe he was taken by the JAC, which is now what Michael’s Command is calling the old Joint Command It’s a good thing there’s a long alphabet to work with Or, he’s still traveling towards Orion. But, after all that concern, an Antijabok reported in to Michael that he gave Seraiah a piggyback glide to the outskirts of that Constellation. And Seraiah did not have to burn any excess energy cloaking himself on the glide there. The Antijabok shape shifted to look like a meteorite and Seraiah blended in without cloaking. So what happened after they arrived near the Constellation is that Seraiah then had a full recharge of energy minus normal burn off and cloaked saying a thank you and good bye to a brother of the deep expanse. Pretty clever of Seraiah huh? That’s what I thought, except that we still have no word of him. The holy ghost observers that were originally at that Constellation , some defected while other left there to report back to MIchael of the rebellious takeover, so at present there are no observers within Orion proper.
Michael now believes that Seraiah could have maintained his cloak and entered the production facility that produces war machinery. It’s only one of several, but it was considered the largest of the group. It’s also likely that Satan could have been there taking a gander at his fellow demons war planned output of more weaponry. Seraiah could have honed in on Satan’s energy since he knows his identifier by heart And probably would not have had to use up his precious reserve to block Satan or other demons from picking up on his energy since they would not have known he had infiltrated.
So as it stands, Jaddai received permission to take his craft Comet to the outskirts and try to film the damage to that facility. If it was horrendous, then Seraiah probably would not have survived, because they now know it was antimatter that caused the explosion. The traces of it have finally made it out into other parts of the expanse where it could be read by our side. So if Seraiah took out that facility to take out Satan and maybe the top demon of the JAC, then in all probability, he did not himself survive the blast. However children, we are awaiting word from those that administer duty at the OP to let Michael know when and if Satan is reanimated. If he should be, then Seraiah, or possibly an accident that was unforeseen took him to spent energy again. But even so, he might shed some light on whether or not he saw Seraiah before the blast. As always, I’ll keep all of you updated on any future information I receive.
Joe ( Responding to Regina) – My recollection is that Seraiah took you and Deborah and I know for certain that Johanna has been there. I would ask Aradon but he is being re-furnaced. Luckily he was not offed or we would not be seeing him again until after Christ’s Millennium is under way. Him and Johanna were both almost expended at the AB when it came under attack from some of the demons in the DP.
Joe (Responding to Johanna) – You’re welcome. And yes, correct on all accounts. When war pics are dispatched, I’ll be sure to put them on concerning this episode of you and Aradon fighting with the demons. Hodiah said you made a good showing and were responsible for not only saving your partner, but also many other Cherubs you and Aradon were sent in to help. Good work Johanna. Nice to have things going our way in this war.
Elisha – I don’t want this to happen but I’m just wondering, what would happen to Johanna’s earthly life/body if she or any of the other ministers were “expended”.?
Joe (Responding to Elisha) – Well. if Father was still reanimating our side, then as in the case of Seraiah being offed by the demons, She would most probably sear the human vessel with another spirit until whichever one of you were reanimated through the furnace that’s reserved for Her holy warriors. Then later, you would be seared back to your human vessel to finish out it’s existence until the Rapture.
I’ll tell you what I’ve learned. Jaddai told Michael that there was no need to take surveillance photos of that Orion facility, simply because there’s nothing left of it. The place is not only void of buildings and crafts and all else that previously existed there, but absolutely no one is in existence at that location. Ir’s as if it was wiped away by Father’s own hand. Totally blank.
The other thing I need to post about is that Gabriel and his lost crew have all been reanimated. Seraiah made a deal with Father about getting Satan back, and if he was successful he told Her that he would like for Gabe and the other lost holy angels to be reanimated. Satan has not yet been reanimated, but because Gabe and the other crew members have been reanimated, we know that Seraiah was successful in his plan to off Satan. Whether Arieldamascus was offed, that remains unknown because Father would not reanimate him until after the Millennium ends anyway. But we now know Seraiah got Satan in that devastating blast at Orion. Michael has communicated with his and our Mother on this matter. Unfortunately, Michael is now certain Seraiah did not survive the blast. He probably never intended to. He did what he set out to do. I regret it happened, but it’s just another sad part of this war. He will be missed, but we will all see him again when Father reanimates all those lost, during Christ’s Millennium.
Jeshaiah – It is sad to hear that Seraiah did not make it, but he was certainly successful and faithful to Father. Will definitely look forward to seeing him again when the Millennium begins. May Father’s Will be fulfilled throughout this war. Amen.
Jaddai – Joe’s so upset he misspelled my name, but everyone listen to me. Let’s not write Seraiah off just yet. I don’t believe he went to Orion with the intent of offing his own self to get Dawn back in Father’s hands. Seraiah’s not a quitter and I don’t believe it. Liddia and Joe are sobbing, and she went to Mother begging Her to reanimate Seraiah, and I think She hasn’t because he’s still alive. I don’t believe our Mother is so heartless that She would leave Her best Warrior in spent condition until the Millennium. Mother loves Seraiah like you wouldn’t believe. I believe with all my heart that he survived the blast, and I want all of you to keep that faith until we locate him. I know how he thinks. We have worked together a long time. If he saw that he would get Dawn but not Arieldamascus, then Seraiah who slipped in under that bunch of sour energies noses would have an alternate plan to attain a double strike on Father’s enemies.
He got Dawn, and I believe he’s still cunning enough to get Arieldamascus and further shift things in our favor, because I think Ariel was not present when he got Dawn. He’s alive and Seraiah’s alive. I can feel it.
Seraiah did not have to be present when that explosion occurred. He could have set it to detonate the antimatter and then left before it happened. Seraiah is no dummy and he was an explosive expert in the army as a human. His prior knowledge would have come into play.
He’s in the Orion complex, and you can lay odds he’s close to Ariel. So close that Ariel will bite the dust like Dawn. It’s just a matter of time and however Seraiah intends to do it.
Another large explosion – this one was reported to have come from the Rigel area of Orion, and it was BIG!!

Learning How to See and Decipher Spiritual Photos
The Unity of Deciphering Spiritual Photos
Seraiah: What you might view in a picture, and what others might view, and say that we all see something different, that is because the messages being conveyed to each of us at the times we look at a spirit pic might be totally individual to each of us. Something totally different means that it was a specific message per individual.
Regina: Could you please explain a bit more on how this works? There have been many times in which say, I’ve taken a smoke or mirror photo and received a basic feeling and/or understanding of the message conveyed. Then Person B looks at it and sees and/or feels something completely different. Up until now it was my understanding that if you take the photo the message is for you. So often this will cause me to second guess what it was I was feeling and/or understanding. I would like to gain better understanding on how messages are conveyed so that I might be more confident when deciphering messages.
Seraiah: When you take a picture you are zoned in through your mind on the spot you are shooting; the message is meant for you even if it is about someone else; this is because you are the conduit used to bring the picture into captured reality. Otherwise, the record does not show up in the visible reality. Since the spirits are using your mind to help them with the projected casts, and they can also draw off of energy within this visible realm like they used off the TV with me, the primary message is meant for the person taking the picture; from that point on, a record is also recorded, just like it is in the spirit realm where the casts are actually taking place; to delve into every message revealed that goes beyond what they’ve conveyed to you, you must sift deeply into the casts within the picture.
Regina: Ohhhh! Okay, gotcha. That makes sense. Thank you! The next question is… How do you know when you’re being used as a conduit for a message meant for someone else? I think that’s where I sometimes get confused, because I know sometimes the message could be to the opposing side and looks scary and gives me a bad feeling. Then I worry that I’m really messing up somehow and it’s a warning for me, when it could actually be a warning for negative energy around me.
Seraiah: It’s a feeling you get; an urgency that something is wrong with someone; that’s another time to either grab the camera, or else you should go into a really dark area and look for the red zone of color (vision wise) and see what is coming through. If you see something ugly in a picture, then look closer, because they are multiple casting to make that appearance; break the cast down and you see several spirits that created the look.
Jeshaiah: Given the messages seen by each individual, does that help to explain … would what we see also be influenced by what we dream, including the things we do not remember that occur in our dreams? My dreams are very rarely pleasant…not enough to make me scared or afraid, but in that same respect, I very rarely ever see anything pleasant in pictures, either.
Seraiah: It’s your train of thought; there’s really nothing ugly in the spirit realm; it is an illusion, and if you take those illusions to heart, they affect your psyche and the mind is where the dreams are televised from; in reality, you are MORE MIND than flesh and blood. Watch my next pic’s post and you’ll see how they really formed the ugly faces. And Flame, if you are not really ugly you cannot make a silk purse from a pigs ear; this holds especially true in the spirit realm; all is cast and all is not what you think you might be seeing. It is telling a story of an event, but is really put together with lots of help. I guess the single thing that authenticates spirit pictures is that they cast so intricately and so many things that it would be impossible for anyone to duplicate the process; mainly because it’s a unified effort and requires 360 degrees of casts that seem to never stop changing.
Size is Relative
Seraiah: In the spirit realm, unless you cast large like MIchael did before he returned to Yahweh in Heaven after his sacrifice as Christ Jesus, the truth is that all spirit energy is SMALL in comparison to what people believe.
Size is relative in the spirit realm.
“relative >adjective 1 considered in relation or in proportion to something else. 2 existing or possessing a characteristic only in comparison to something else: months of relative calm ended in April. 3 Grammar (of a pronoun, determiner, or adverb) referring to an expressed or implied antecedent and attaching a subordinate clause to it, e.g. which. 4 Grammar (of a clause) attached to an antecedent by a relative word. >noun 1 a person connected by blood or marriage. 2 a species related to another by common origin.
-PHRASES relative to 1 compared with or in relation to. 2 concerning.”

But know this: difficult times will come in the last days. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, unloving, irreconcilable, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, without love for what is good, traitors, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, holding to the form of religion but denying its power. 2 Timothy 3:1-5

Signs in Natural Disasters
“You are going to hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not alarmed, because these things must take place, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise up against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places.” Matthew 24:6-7

AFGHANISTAN – A 6.5 magnitude earthquake rocked Kashmir Valley at 12.54 A.M shaking people out of their beds in terror. The quake which lasted nearly a minute, rattled houses forcing people to rush out of their homes in panic during dead of the night. There was no immediate report of any damage or injuries. The epicentre of the quake, which struck at a depth of 200 kilometres (124 miles), was reported to be in Hindukush range, 265 kilometres northeast of Kabul, in Afghanistan. Earlier on September 11 morning a 4.8 magnitude earthquake shook Kashmir and its adjoining areas. The epicenter of the earthquake was in Pir Pantsal mountain range of Himalayas of the region.
Experts warn of earthquakes in BANGLADESH – Scientists at the Dhaka University Earth Observatory have recorded 10 tremors in the last one week and warned that more earthquakes can hit the country anytime. The warning comes after a moderate quake, whose epicentre was at the India-Bangladesh border, shook parts of Bangladesh last Friday. Experts at Dhaka University’s geology department and Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology said the intensity of the recent earthquakes measuring between 2.0 and 4.8 on the Richter scale signalled a major earthquake. They also fear that a major earthquake with the epicentre in and around the capital could hit the country any time, causing devastation. “As India and Burma tectonic plates are moving towards each other, Bangladesh’s landmass is being squeezed by 6mm every year, which gives adds to strength accumulation within the earth-crust in the Bengal basin.” Experts have also warned that disaster-prone Bangladesh, which has been facing floods and cyclones in the recent past, is not ready to tackle earthquakes.
They say most of the country’s hospitals, police stations, disaster shelters and school buildings that have been set up for disaster relief are themselves not earthquake-proof.
NEW ZEALAND – Christchurch earthquakes approaching 700 in 13 days. Since September 4, Christchurch in New Zealand is being pounded by earthquakes, one after the other they are coming and some are fairly medium sized earthquakes. Those tremors, aftershocks or earthquakes are now approaching almost 700 earthquakes in just 13 days. “That is either the biggest earthquake swarm we have heard off or something else is brewing beneath New Zealand.” The massive 7.1 magnitude earthquake a few days ago caused damage to many buildings as well as public buildings, historical buildings and even the old Library in Christchurch is said to be on a new fault line, or where there is no known fault line. Some scientists agree to the fact that there might be a new fault line forming.
NEW ZEALAND – Almost 75 whales have stranded themselves on a beach at the top of New Zealand’s North Island, the second mass beaching in the region in as many months. [Does this signal another large quake in New Zealand could hit within two weeks? See the second article below.] The Department of Conservation were alerted to the stranding at 11.30am (9.30am AEST) today after a local spotted the pilot whales on the sand at Spirits Bay, about 90 kilometres north of Kaitaia, in Northland. Staff counted 74 whales spread across two kilometres of the beach, 49 were alive, 25 had already died and another 50 were swimming just off-shore.
Volunteers from Far North Whale Rescue, DoC officers and members of the local Maori community were preparing to stay overnight at the beach and will battle a strong swell and high winds in an effort to refloat the animals tomorrow. “We need as many volunteers as possible, as it will be at least until tomorrow before we can look at refloating them, which means caring for them over the next two days.” In August, a pod of 58 pilot whales stranded themselves at a remote beach at the top of NZ’s North Island. Upon discovery, 43 were already dead. A further six died during the rescue attempt, with nine successfully refloated. In 2007, 101 pilot whales were stranded on the same beach.
Whale deaths linked to earthquakes? – An academic’s prediction of natural disaster, following whale deaths at New Zealand on August 20, has apparently come true. Over the years, Dr Arunachalam Kumar had espoused the theory that unexplained whale deaths are linked to natural disasters. After whale deaths of the New Zealand coast, he had received an e-mail query regarding the possible outcome of this event. He had said the incident was prelude to the eruption of a volcano in Indonesia within seven days and an earthquake would follow within two weeks. On August 29, Mt Sinabung, a long dormant volcano in Sumatra erupted suddenly. On September 4, Christchurch, New Zealand, was rocked by one of the most powerful earthquakes in its history. In early December 2004, the doctor is said to have predicted the coming of the titanic Asian tsunami a full three weeks before it struck.
A different perspective on the strandings – Data spanning 1920–2002, involving a total of 639 stranding events from southeast Australia, were found to demonstrate a clear 11–13 year periodicity in the number of events through time. These data positively correlated with the regional persistence of both zonal (westerly) and meridional (southerly) winds, reflecting general long-term and large-scale shifts in sea-level pressure gradients. Periods of persistent zonal and meridional winds result in colder and presumably nutrient-rich waters being driven closer to southern Australia, resulting in increased biological activity in the water column during the spring months. These observations suggest that large-scale climatic events provide a powerful influence on the propensity for whales to strand in this region. These patterns provide a powerful framework for testing hypotheses regarding environmental links to strandings and provide managers with a potential predictive tool to prepare for years of peak stranding activity.
ITALY – Plans are being made to drill 3962-meters into an active volcano [Campi Flegrei] in Italy to predict when it will erupt. Recent seismic activity at Campi Flegrei has created concern the 13-kilometer wide volcanic formation, or “caldera,” could explode, endangering the city of Naples. Campi Flegrei is located under the city’s western outskirts and the Bay of Naples. It last erupted in 1538 and is made up of 24 craters and volcanic fissures.
The drilling operation will measure rock temperature and seismic activity at different depths to work out how stable, or unstable, the volcano is. Scientists working on the project will be dealing with molten rock between 500-600 Celsius. “Calderas are the only volcanoes that can cause truly catastrophic eruptions with global consequences, yet they are still poorly understood.” Potential dangers have been raised, though, that the drilling could trigger an eruption or an earthquake, endangering 1.5 million people in and near Naples. A similar project in Iceland had to be stopped when magma was unexpectedly found during the operation.
Also endangering Naples, Europe’s largest undersea volcano could disintegrate and unleash a tsunami that would engulf southern Italy “at any time”, a prominent vulcanologist has warned. The Marsili volcano, which is bursting with magma, has “fragile walls” that could collapse. “It could even happen tomorrow. Our latest research shows that the volcano is not structurally solid, its walls are fragile, the magma chamber is of sizeable dimensions. All that tells us that the volcano is active and could begin erupting at any time.” The event would result in “a strong tsunami that could strike the coasts of Campania, Calabria and Sicily.”
The undersea Marsili, 3000m tall and located some 150km south-west of Naples, has not erupted since the start of recorded history. It is 70km long and 30km wide, and its crater is some 450m below the surface of the Tyrrhenian Sea. “A rupture of the walls would let loose millions of cubic metres of material capable of generating a very powerful wave. While the indications that have been collected are precise, it is impossible to make predictions. The risk is real but hard to evaluate.”
Planchón-Peteroa Volcano emitted a dark gray plume of ash on September 21, continuing an eruption which began on September 6th and intensified on September 18th. Planchón-Peteroa is on the border between Chile and Argentina, and the majority of the ash is blowing southeast into Argentina. Argentine authorities warned residents in the community of Malargüe — 94 kilometers (58 miles) east — to be prepared in case the eruption strengthened further. Most of the surrounding high-altitude landscape is covered in snow.
TSUNAMI / FREAK WAVES / ABNORMAL TIDES / RISING SEA LEVELS –
Southern California could be unprepared to warn against an impending tsunami in the event of an earthquake immediately off the coast. A national panel presented findings of a study on tsunami warning systems to Congress Friday, revealing some vulnerabilities in the warning system. “The main thing we want to get out is how ill-prepared we are for local tsunamis, tsunamis that are generated very close to the coas. Southern California is unprepared to deal with tsunamis that are generated very close to shore because the warning time would be only a matter of minutes, rather than the hours-long warning we had in instances such as the Chilean earthquake earlier this year. “These are rare events but extremely high impact events. Imagine the cost of evacuating 500,000 people off the beaches in Southern California or closing down the ports.”
TROPICAL STORMS –
AUSTRALIA may be facing THEIR MOST INTENSE CYCLONE SEASON SINCE 1994. A potentially devastating cyclone could hit the Gold Coast this season, with a renowned storm forecaster saying five cyclones will form off the Queensland coast. An intense category four of five cyclone, with the potential to wreak havoc on the scale of Cyclone Larry – which devastated Innisfail in North Queensland in 2006 – is also on the cards. Five tropical cyclones are predicted to form between Far North Queensland and northern NSW from January to March, according to a long-term weather forecaster who has accurately predicted the number and timing of cyclones for the past two seasons.
He uses sun spots and solar flares to cast his predictions, and says current activity indicate cyclones would push further south, potentially hitting the Gold Coast. ”It’s quite possible … you haven’t had one for a fair while now so it’s definitely overdue. ‘When you have high solar activity you find they move further south. ‘There is a very strong case, especially from the weather events we’ve seen since the beginning of 2010.” The sheer number of cyclones will lead to THE MOST INTENSE CYCLONE SEASON SINCE 1994 when he started his official predictions. ”It’s the most I’ve ever predicted for the eastern seaboard, usually it’s only two or three – or maybe up to four. ‘Five is a bit more heavy duty, people should err on the side of caution.”
The Weather Channel meteorologist agreed a more active cyclone season was likely due to La Nina. ”With La Nina traditionally we get a higher frequency of cyclones. ‘There’s no way of saying (where they will cross), but we think there will probably be an above average number of cyclones, whether they are coastal crossings or skim the coast – they will be around.” The last cyclone to hit the Coast was in 1984, causing wind and rain damage.
”Certainly if … we do get a storm of that magnitude to cross near to the Gold Coast, that’s a major disruption about to happen from a lot of perspectives. ‘Erosion, flooding, rainfall all of that works together in that event, similar to 1974, when there was widespread flooding on the Gold Coast. ‘We might be in for a test, how well we come out of the test is a bit uncertain … they are fickle things storms. ‘In a sense we’re lucky we haven’t had a really big one for so long, but it brings other issues that people are not familiar with the extent of damage it can cause.”
Typhoon takes aim at Taiwan – Powerful typhoon Fanapi was poised for a direct hit on Taiwan today, sending residents scurrying for cover, farmers hurrying to harvest vulnerable crops, and rescue crews evacuating people in mountainous regions vulnerable to landslides.
Hurricane Karl has been downgraded to a tropical storm after making landfall on Mexico’s southern coast. The first major storm of the Atlantic season to hit land, it pounded the south-eastern port city of Veracruz with heavy rain. It later weakened with winds of up to 70mph (112km/h). Karl has already forced Mexico’s Pemex oil to halt production at 14 offshore wells and evacuate staff. Karl hit Mexico’s Gulf coast at 1630 GMT as a category three hurricane with winds of up to 110mph (177km/h). It was downgraded to category two, then to category one, before becoming a tropical storm. Karl is currently moving west at a speed of about 9mph and weakened further as it moved inland overnight.
Mexico’s Veracruz state has already suffered from major flooding in the recent weeks The Mexican government had issued a hurricane warning for a 186-mile stretch of coast from Veracruz northwards, but all warnings have now been discontinued. On Thursday, Karl passed over the Yucatan Peninsula, dumping heavy rain and bringing down trees and power lines.
Meanwhile, the government in Bermuda has issued a hurricane watch for Igor. The island can “expect tropical storm force winds some time around midnight Saturday and even worse conditions late Sunday”.To the east Hurricane Igor has weakened slightly but remains a major storm. Igor, which is pushing sustained speeds of 105mph, is threatening to pass directly over Bermuda on Sunday, the US-based National Hurricane Center has warned, with the US East Coast also affected over the weekend.
A third simultaneous hurricane, Julia, which is towards the centre of the Atlantic Ocean, has weakened further, with sustained winds of 75mph.
Bermuda, which hasn’t seen a major hurricane in some seven years, is about to get walloped by Igor, which forecasters termed large and dangerous Saturday night. The eye of the Category 2 storm may pass just to the west of the Atlantic Ocean island late today, sharply increasing the likelihood of damaging winds. Such a landfall would spare Bermuda “the worst of the storm surge, but will inflict some of the highest wind speeds … on the island. A direct hit would be the worst-case scenario, because the island would have to endure the extremely strong winds in the eyewall, as well as a dangerously high storm surge.” The hurricane is currently going through an “eyewall replacement cycle,” and, during this time, accurately forecasting its track becomes more difficult.
A new eye begins to develop around the old eye of a hurricane during the replacement cycle. “Fortunately, the forecast is that Igor will not strengthen more before approaching Bermuda. It is expected to maintain Category 2 status.” Conditions on the island were deteriorating late Saturday ahead of Igor’s expected passover. “Igor is expected to remain a dangerous hurricane as it approaches Bermuda. Igor is a very large hurricane.”
The storm could also produce as much as 9 inches of rainfall over the island. Large waves generated by the storm were already pounding beaches Saturday afternoon. “A dangerous storm surge is expected to produce significant coastal flooding on Bermuda. The surge will be accompanied by large and destructive waves, especially along the southern coast.” The weather agency said swells will affect the East Coast of the United States, Puerto Rico, the Leeward Islands, Hispanola and parts of the Bahamas over the weekend. “These swells are likely to cause life-threatening surf and rip currents.”
HURRICANE IGOR – Fierce waves pounded Bermuda’s breakwaters and shores Sunday night, straining yacht moorings and battering oceanfront hotels as a weakened Hurricane Igor lashed the wealthy British enclave.
Bermudians battened down their homes in pelting rain to wait out Igor, which was barely a Category 1 hurricane with maximum sustained winds of 75 mph (120 kph) as it swirled close to the island after dark. The wind whipsawed trees and power poles, knocking out electricity in many parts of the island. But there were no early reports of major damage. Some storm-seasoned islanders ventured outside during the day to gawk as the hurricane force winds that hit by midday drove 15-foot (5-meter) surf onto shore or to triple-tie the moorings of their boats even as the government warned people to stay indoors. Flooding was reported in low-lying areas, while streets in downtown Hamilton, the capital, were covered in several inches of water and littered with tree branches and other debris.
Igor’s eye was forecast to pass over or very close to Bermuda before midnight. Even a near-miss could cause substantial damage, with hurricane-force winds extending up to 90 miles (150 kilometers) from the storm’s eye.
The storm was expected to veer northeast — away from the United States — after passing Bermuda. But forecasters said it would continue causing high surf and strong rip currents along the U.S. eastern seaboard.
Igor lost strength and was downgraded from a Category 2 hurricane before dawn Sunday, raising optimism that Bermuda would be spared major damage. High surf kicked up by the storm has already swept two people out to sea in Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands, far to the south. Forecasters said the storm could drop 6 to 9 inches (15 to 23 centimeters) of rain over Bermuda and cause significant coastal flooding. Bermuda’s building codes specify that homes must be built with walls at least eight inches thick, and be able to withstand 150 mph (241 kph) gusts and sustained winds of 110 mph (177 kph). Some power and phone lines are underground.
In Mexico on Sunday, officials raised to 12 the death toll from Hurricane Karl, which made landfall on Mexico’s Gulf Coast on Friday and soaked Veracruz, Puebla and Tabasco states in the south-central part of the country.
At least 30,000 people were displaced by flooding and landslides in Veracruz alone. 125 municipalities were in a state of emergency.
Hurricane Igor heads north, all the way to Greenland? – Hurricane Igor had weakened to a bottom-tier hurricane by the time it brushed past Bermuda. Forecasters say Igor could still pack strong winds as it becomes a post-tropical depression over Greenland Thursday. For 12 days, hurricane Igor has been spinning through the Atlantic Ocean, first as a tropical storm, then as one of the 2010 season’s handful of “major” hurricanes.
Between next Thursday morning and Friday morning, forecasters at the National Hurricane Center in Miami say they expect Igor to make landfall on the southern tip of Greenland, perhaps with tropical-storm-force winds, then to move into the interior as a “post-tropical” depression. The label “post-tropical” refers to a shift in a storm’s energy source. In Igor’s case, its energy source is expected to shift by this morning.
As a tropical cyclone, Igor draws its energy from heat. That heat is released as water condenses from vapor to cloud droplets as the vapor rises higher into the atmosphere and cools, forming powerful thunderheads. As the storm moves north, it encounters cooler water and draws its energy from the difference in temperature between the storm itself and a cooler mass of air sweeping into the North Atlantic from middle and high latitudes. At that point, Igor earns the post-tropical tag. These storms can still be dangerous, since they continue to pack gale-force winds. These winds typically blow at altitudes of several hundred feet to a little over 1,000 feet. They can trigger significant wind damage if the storm encounters an environment that encourages mixing between air layers near the ground and the layers carrying the gale-force winds. By the time Igor draws even with southern Newfoundland overnight tonight, it is expected to pack hurricane-force winds, although it will have become post-tropical. Igor’s track is expected to come close enough to the Canadian province’s southeastern tip, prompting the government to issue tropical-storm warnings for that area.
In Bermuda, residents are dealing with power failures, downed trees, and a handful of beached boats. Along the US east coast, Igor is expected to continue delivering high surf, with its accompanying rip currents through this morning. So far, three fatalities have been attributed to Igor. All reportedly were due to people either trying to surf the high waves Igor was driving to shore, or standing too close to where high surf was breaking.
Meanwhile, tropical storm Julia is winding down some 1,770 miles west of the Azores. Currently packing sustained winds of about 45 miles an hour, Julia likely will be downgraded to a tropical depression by 8 a.m. today.
As these two storms weaken, forecasters are watching another patch of stormy weather just west of the Cape Verde Islands. It stands an 80 pecent chance of becoming a tropical cyclone within the next 48 hours.
Weather forecasters faced a difficult task of predicting the “unpredictable” tropical cyclone Fanapi as it changed course and categories yesterday. Typhoon signal No. 1 was hoisted at 4:30 pm in Macau yesterday.
Yesterday morning, the Meteorological and Geophysical Bureau wasn’t expecting to hoist typhoon warnings as Fanapi had already made landfall in mainland China and was moving east of Macau. However, after hitting the coastline of Guangdong province, “it took a VERY UNPREDICTABLE TRACK and it is moving west and south-eastwards.” The change means that Fanapi is going to pass closer to Macau than previously expected, less than 200 kilometres away from the SAR, bring with it heavy rains and strong winds. “Everything will depend on what happens during the night and on the storm’s speed. The wind speed can increase up to the levels of the typhoon signal No. 3, because it is still too close to the coastline.”
Fanapi may be the strongest storm to strike China this year. But no casualties have been reported and damage is yet to be assessed. It swept across Taiwan on Sunday with winds gusting as high as 180 kilometres per hour, downing electric lines, forcing evacuations and closing schools, offices, airports and ground transport. Emergency workers evacuated 10,468 people from 13 counties and 53 townships prone to landslides.
Tropical Storm Malakas strengthened as it churned over the Pacific Ocean toward the Japanese islands of Iwo Jima and Chichi Jima. The official forecast shows the storm tracking north near Iwo Jima and Chichi Jima before turning north-northeast, indicating it won’t make landfall on Japan’s main islands. The storm’s eye is forecast to remain about 500 kilometers (310 miles) off Japan’s coast, with Tokyo and surrounding prefectures within range of the path’s forecast margin of error on Sept. 25.
Malakas is expected to become a typhoon tomorrow and may have sustained winds of 157 kilometers per hour by Sept. 25. That would make it a Category 2 storm on the five-step Saffir-Simpson scale, capable of “extensive damage.”
Typhoon Fanapi, the 12th storm of the season, swept across Taiwan on Sept. 19, downing electric lines, forcing evacuations and closing airports. Two people were killed and 107 were hurt. Fanapi then brought THE HEAVIEST RAINS IN A CENTURY to China’s southern province of Guangdong. A dam built to hold tin-mining waste collapsed in Guangdong after about 60 centimeters (24 inches) of rain from Typhoon Fanapi triggered mud and rock slides. Flooding and landslides from Fanapi killed 13 people in southern China and left at least 33 missing. Thousands of people have died this year in China as torrential rain and floods inundated the country in July and August.
A new tropical storm has hit the Baja California peninsula on Mexico’s northern Pacific coast, bringing torrential rains and pounding waves. Tropical Storm Georgette made landfall near the resort town of Cabo San Lucas, on the tip of the peninsula.
It struck days after Hurricane Karl swept across south-eastern Mexico, flooding large areas and killing at least 15 people. Parts of the country are enduring their worst rainy season on record.
Heavy downpours have continued to drench southern and central Mexico in the wake of Hurricane Karl, causing floods and landslides. On Monday night a hillside collapsed on a bus near the town of Villa Guerrero, 60km (35 miles) south-west of Mexico City, killing at least seven people. Rescuers have been digging through the mud in search of others who are missing. In the eastern state of Veracruz, which bore the brunt of Hurricane Karl, around 40,000 people were still living in emergency shelters on Tuesday. “Nearly half the state is under water.” The southern states of Oaxaca and Tabasco have also suffered severe floods.
Tropical Storm Lisa continues to meander around the far eastern Atlantic, where it might spend the rest of its life without threatening any land. At 11 p.m. on Wednesday, Lisa was about 390 miles northwest of the Cape Verde Islands, creeping east at 5 mph with sustained winds of 40 mph. The long range forecast calls for the system drift northwest over the next five days. It is then expected to encounter strong wind shear and weaken into a tropical depression.
Meanwhile, the National Hurricane Center gives a disturbance in the Caribbean near Venezuela a 60 percent chance of developing into a tropical depression or storm over the next two days. The next named storm will be Matthew. However, a hurricane hunter flight to investigate the system was canceled on Wednesday because “it just wasn’t organized enough to warrant the plane.” The aircraft is on standby to fly into the disturbance on Thursday. Models indicate the system will aim toward Central America over the next two days and then possibly turn north toward the Gulf of Mexico.
CANADA – Workers have begun cleaning up after Hurricane Igor battered Newfoundland and Labrador province, causing flooding and power cuts. A tropical storm warning was lifted early on Wednesday after Igor was downgraded to a post-tropical storm. Residents in some areas of the province saw more than 200mm (8in) of rain in just a few hours. Winds from Igor hit Canada’s east coast at 90mph (145km/h), ripping the roof off a hospital in the town of Holyrood. The heavy rains, flooding and high winds of hurricane Igor have knocked out roads and bridges in the province, precipitating states of emergency in several communities. Forecasters warn the Atlantic coast may see another big hurricane this autumn.
A hurricane watch has been issued for the coast of Belize as Tropical Storm Matthew in the southwestern Caribbean quickly moves toward Central America. The U.S. National Hurricane Center in Miami said early Friday that Matthew has maximum sustained winds of 45 mph (75 kph). It was moving west at 17 mph (28 kph) and was about 275 miles (445 kilometers) east of Puerto Cabezas, Nicaragua. A hurricane watch and a tropical storm warning also have been issued for parts of Nicaragua and Honduras. The governments of Nicaragua and Honduras issued the alerts for the stretch from Puerto Cabezas to Limon, Honduras, including offshore islands.
Tropical Storm Malakas has strengthened as it tracks north over the Pacific Ocean on course to brush past the east coast of the main Japanese island of Honshu in two days. The forecast shows the typhoon churning toward the islands of Iwo Jima and Chichi Jima before turning north- northeast, indicating it won’t make landfall on Japan’s main islands. The storm is estimated to make its closest approach about 390 kilometers (242 miles) off Hachijojima island, south of Tokyo, at around 9 a.m. on Sept. 25.
Malakas is expected to gain strength in the coming two days to maximum winds of 55 meters per second (123 miles per hour) from 40 meters per second, with a storm warning area extending about 440 kilometers. The storm’s intensity will probably weaken to an extra-tropical cyclone by 9 a.m. on Sept. 26. Malakas is the 13th storm of the northwest Pacific season.
Submarines – ‘Use them to bust typhoons’. A Japanese engineering firm says it believes a fleet of 20 underwater submarines could draw the sting from a typhoon at sea by cooling the temperature of the ocean directly beneath it. The thousands affected across Asia by Typhoon Fanapi this week will likely have mixed reactions when they hear of the off-the-wall scheme designed to prevent further disasters by sucking the power from devastating storms before they can make landfall. Although the plan comes too late for Fanapi’s victims, if activated could change the way future typhoons are approached if there’s any merit at all in its somewhat James Bond approach to storm-busting.
It would do so by pumping cold water from 30 meters below the surface to sea level and depriving the storm of the water temperature needed to drive it onward, potentially towards land. The company says, rather specifically, that its fleet could cool 57,600 square meters of ocean by three degrees, thereby effectively downgrading any typhoon and making it a lot less threatening. While the underwater storm defense mechanism is still on the drawing board, the hydraulic pipe specialist is actively looking for help in developing a seagoing prototype.
HEAVY RAINS / FLOODING / LANDSLIDES / UNUSUAL & OUT-OF-SEASON WEATHER –
INDIA – Heavy monsoon rains and landslides swept the hilly areas of northern India over the weekend, killing at least 47 people. Twenty-four people died Sunday as falling boulders crushed their homes in three villages in Almorah district in Uttrakhand state. Another 23 people were either swept away by floodwaters or died when homes collapsed in landslides in Pitthoragarh, Champawat and Uttarkashi regions of state Saturday and Sunday.
Rains continued to lash the region on Monday, threatening dozens of villages near Tehri Dam whose water level was nearing the danger level. The area is 250 miles (400 kilometers) southwest of Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh state. The annual monsoon season from June to October brings rains that are vital to agriculture in India. However, monsoon rains take a heavy human toll in South Asia every year. In August, flash floods killed at least 175 people in the remote and mountainous Ladakh region of the Indian portion of Kashmir. India is experiencing an excessive rainfall this season after a drought last year. The rainfall recorded Sept. 1-15 was 22 percent above the average for the period.
In neighboring Pakistan, monsoon floods have killed more than 1,700 people and damaged or destroyed nearly 1.9 million homes in the past six weeks.
Asia struggles to cope as storms spread destruction – Severe storms and floods sweeping Asia this week have killed dozens of people and displaced hundreds of thousands across large swathes of the continent, with more storms forecast. RECORD MONSOON RAIN and the onslaught of tropical storm Fanapi wreaked devastation from South Korea to India, triggering landslides, washing away thousands of homes and tearing through roads and railways.
Thirty-three people have died and 42 are missing after Fanapi churned through southern China, while 65 people were killed in monsoon rain in India and 100,000 displaced after a lake burst in southern Pakistan. Fanapi made landfall on mainland China on Monday, one day after slamming Taiwan with heavy rain, killing two people and leaving more than 100 injured on the island. All of China’s deaths occurred in the southern province of Guangdong, which saw its WORST RAIN IN A CENTURY. Over 78,000 people in Guangdong have been evacuated due to the storm, which destroyed some 1,400 homes. At its strongest point, when it hit Taiwan on Sunday, Fanapi was packing winds of up to 220 kilometres an hour and dumped up to 1,000 millimetres (39 inches) of rain in the south of the island. The storm caused damage estimated at around five billion Taiwan dollars (158 million US).
Two people went missing and thousands of homes flooded when a RECORD RAINSTORM hit parts of South Korea. The storm on Tuesday – the start of the three-day Chuseok harvest festival – dumped almost 300 millimetres of rain on parts of Seoul, an ALL-TIME HIGH FOR LATE SEPTEMBER SINCE RECORDS BEGAN IN 1907. Some 11,800 people were briefly made homeless by the deluge, which flooded roads and subway lines.
Two fishermen were missing in the northeastern province of Gangwon and were feared to have been swept away when a river swelled.
In northern India at least 65 people have died after heavy monsoon rains triggered landslides and flooding. The mountainous northern state of Uttarakhand was worst affected, with 65 people killed over three days. Elsewhere, in the impoverished northern state of Bihar, the river Gandhak burst its banks and displaced thousands of people, destroying paddy crops and houses. “Floods have left thousands of people, mostly the poorest of the poor, homeless in the last 48 hours.” In New Delhi, the city experienced iITS WETTEST MONSOON IN MORE THAN THREE DECADES.
Some 100,000 more people have been displaced after a lake burst in southern Pakistan where massive floods have already affected millions of people. The Manchar lake in southern Sindh province overflowed on Friday, forcing people living in the area to seek refuge elsewhere. “More than a hundred thousand (have) been displaced. Not only houses, but boats were also found in pieces, crops are completely washed away.” Some 21 million people have been affected by floods that have ravaged Pakistan, including 12 million who need emergency food aid.
A massive low-pressure system pelted southern Minnesota and central Wisconsin with torrential rainfall Thursday as high winds pummeled Lake Superior and the Twin Ports. Parts of southern Minnesota received more than 10 inches of rain, with flooding, road closures and evacuations reported. Flood watches were dropped for northern Minnesota as the big storm skirted farther south than some forecasters had expected. Meanwhile, strong winds pelted Lake Superior, with steady 30-knot winds and 10-12 foot waves. The Minnesota Department of Public Safety Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management activated its emergency operations center Thursday afternoon in response to widespread flooding in southern Minnesota. Nearly 10 inches of rain had fallen in Martin and Faribault counties by noon Thursday with more rain in the forecast. Dodge, Waseca and Rice Counties have asked the state for 75,000 sandbags.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation reported multiple road closures in the Mankato and Rochester districts Thursday afternoon, including U.S. Highway 52, the main route from the Twin Cities to Rochester. In Windom, early Thursday, a basement collapsed from the flooding and severed a gas line, prompting the evacuation of about 30 families. “We are having considerable water issues, that is for sure.” The Minnesota Office of Pipeline Safety reported that 300 natural gas meters in the city of Truman were shut off because of heavy flooding in the area. Approximately 80 homes in the city of Owatonna were reported underwater Thursday, and had natural gas and electricity shut off. In Zumbrota, about 25 miles south of Red Wing, high school students loaded sandbags Thursday morning to protect businesses and homes from the rising Zumbro River, which had reached major flood stage. The Zumbro River is a Mississippi River tributary. To the south, on another branch of the Zumbro, flooding had effectively closed the city of Pine Island. Nonresidents found in the city will be subject to arrest.
In Wisconsin, a state of emergency was declared and the National Guard ordered to Trempealeau County. Heavy rains there sparked mandatory evacuations for as many as 1,500 residents of Arcadia, a town of about 2,400 people 100 miles southeast of Minneapolis.
Hundreds of Minnesotans were besieged by water after a FREAKISH early autumn rain knocked residents out of homes, closed schools and businesses, flooded countless rural roads and overwhelmed municipal sewer systems from Truman in southwestern Minnesota to Zumbro Falls, 150 miles to the northeast.
Weather officials noted that the Minneapolis – St. Paul metro area will share in the impact next week, when stormwater flowing down the Minnesota River should reach the Twin Cities. It appears “very likely” that river crossings along the Minnesota from Jordan to Savage could be closed. Some bridges could be closed as soon as Saturday. River monitors on Thursday were projecting that the Minnesota would rise 15 feet by Tuesday, to a point close to its fifth-highest level on record. “The south metro is going to be a problem. This is EXTRAORDINARILY UNUSUAL for this time of year.”
BEFORE Thursday’s rain storms, there was already a wet and worrisome flood outlook for Minnesota. Heavy rains this summer echo the last two years, when wet autumns set up serious spring flooding. Fall began Wednesday, bringing with it a wet and worrisome outlook for spring. Saturated ground and high rivers in the fall have set up serious spring flooding for the past two years, and this season isn’t looking any different. “This’ll be the third year in a row like this. It doesn’t make any sense.”
“What it’s all going to do in the spring … it’s not very good.” The Otter Tail River, which meets the Bois de Sioux at Breckenridge to form the Red River of the North, was carrying EIGHT TIMES its expected flow for the date on Monday. Across Minnesota, summer rain seemed to reach a crescendo in September, when it’s usually slacking off. 10 inches had fallen at Swan Lake Resort so far this month. Even the fish seem confused; the resort owners can no longer tell people where on the lake they’re biting. Areas just north of there have received nearly twice the normal rainfall since April 1, and some parts of western and southwestern Minnesota are approaching triple their normal rainfall for the past 30 days. Across Otter Tail County, high water has forced restrictions on a handful of county roads and some construction projects have been abandoned. At Redwood Falls, the Redwood River was within inches of flood stage Monday, not a serious situation but UNUSUAL at the beginning of autumn. At Fargo, N.D., the Red River’s median historic flow for Sept. 20 is 200 cubic feet per second; Monday it was 2,740. The Minnesota River at Jordan and the Mississippi at Anoka were also both swollen several times beyond their normal size for this time of year.
Because farm crops have stopped using rainwater by now, precipitation this time of year either runs off into rivers or stays in the soil, where it freezes until spring. That means the spring snowmelt can’t seep into the ground, but runs into streams and rivers. That’s precisely what occurred in spring of 2009, when the Red at Fargo reached its record height. Also, below-normal temperatures so far in September across the state have slowed down the rate at which water might also evaporate.
Short-term, NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center is painting a mixed precipitation picture for Minnesota for October: above-normal precipitation in the northwest, but below-normal in the southeast.
Surprise torrential downpours drenched Seoul, Korea on Tuesday with THE HIGHEST AMOUNT OF RAINFALL THE CAPITAL HAD SEEN SINCE RECORDS BEGAN IN 1908. The Gangseo region in southwestern Seoul and Gangnam area in the southern part saw 293 mm of rainfall, while 18 out of 25 districts received more than 200 mm of rain. Seven districts in the city, including Dobong and Nowon, received a lower amount but were still pelted with between 95.5 mm to 194 mm of rain.
But the Korea Meteorological Administration failed to predict the extreme weather, forecasting between 20 mm and 60 mm of rain until 11 a.m. on Tuesday only two to three hours before the skies opened. Not until 2 p.m. when the Gangseo district had already seen 100 mm of rain per hour and Jongno was being drenched with 70 mm of rain that the KMA issued a weather advisory forecasting more than 200 mm precipitation. The main reason was a clash between two different air masses near Seoul. “A cold and dry high pressure front from Mongolia and other northern regions and a warm and moist high pressure front from the northern Pacific formed a narrow band centering on Seoul. As a result, a huge rain cloud formed in Seoul and neighboring regions.” The culprit was typhoon Malakas. Typically during this time of the year, the north Pacific high pressure front is pushed south by a cold high pressure front from the north, but the typhoon, which was located near the equator, prevented the north Pacific high pressure front from traveling south and caused it to clash with a high pressure front from the north, resulting in the heavy rains.
The downpours overloaded Seoul’s drainage systems. The Gwanghwamun intersection in central Seoul was flooded, as were thousands of homes at lower elevations. “The main drainage pipes and pump stations in Seoul are designed to handle 75 mm of rain an hour, which happens once every 10 years, and were therefore unable to handle the record amount of rainfall in the metropolitan area.” Experts say Seoul officials must take another look at the city’s drainage systems since heavy rains have become frequent due to the effects of climate change.
11,919 people were left homeless.
This summer was ONE OF THE WETTEST EVER in Korea, with Seoul seeing the most frequent rain in its history and the third highest amount of precipitation in its history. “Seoul had 32 days with over 0.1 mm of rain from the beginning of August to the second week of September, the most since such data began to be compiled in 1908.” Seoul wasn’t the only wet region this summer. The nation had 44.2 days of rain from June through August, 7.4 days more than the average of 36.8. August alone had 18.7 days of rain, the most since 1973, for a total of 374.5 mm of precipitation, more than the 304.2 mm recorded in the rainy season which lasted for about four weeks from late June this year. The UNUSUAL amount of rain was due to low atmospheric pressures and typhoons in August.
Meanwhile, Korea saw an average 464.4 hours of daily sunlight this summer, a mere 87 percent of the average of 533.8 hours. For the first eight months of this year, the nation recorded an average of 1,290.4 hours of daily sunlight, the third lowest after 1,195.8 in 2003 and 1,263.1 in 1998.
EXTREME HEAT / WILDFIRES / DROUGHT / CLIMATE CHANGE-
BRITAIN – So far 2010 has been a year of extremes – the COLDEST WINTER IN 30 YEARS, the FIRST LATE SPRING SINCE 1976, a heatwave in late June and THE COLDEST AUGUST IN 17 YEARS. The upside is that now, in time for today’s autumnal equinox, the nation’s trees and hedgerows are bursting with fruit, berries and nuts. Not only is this good news for orchard owners, home gardeners and foragers alike, it means birds, insects and other animals can stock up before winter’s chill descends. “This relates back to the wonderful late spring and – incredibly by modern standards – the long period of settled weather we had until mid-July, when the wheels fell off somewhat.” Throughout August an area of low pressure sat over or near to the UK, making it a cloudy, cool and wet month. “But we had nothing nasty all the way through May, June and early July – no gales, no late frosts, nothing. In this 10 to 12-week period free from foul and abusive weather, the trees had time to flower profusely, be amply pollinated and then set well with fruit.” While early blackberries suffered in August’s rains, those ripening now are in plentiful supply.
Also abundant are apples, pears and the last of the plums – albeit perhaps a little weather damaged from the inclement turn last month – along with hazelnuts, rosehips and sloe berries. Some may worry that plentiful holly berries signal vicious weather come Christmas, but this is a myth. “It reflects the good spring we had, it’s not prophesying anything.”
Some plants suffered when summer took a turn for the worst, including sweet chestnuts. “And oak trees – acorn crops aren’t as good as I’d thought.” Meanwhile, experts at the National Arboretum in Gloucestershire say Britain could be in line for a prolonged display of autumn colours. Its log books show the weather patterns this year most closely resemble those of 1929, which had vivid leaves on the trees until November. While the professional forecasters at the Met Office are reluctant to predict what the coming winter will be like, signs are that September’s weather will continue to be relatively pleasant. “We haven’t had a wet September since 2000. At its worst, this one is going to be mixed.”
Businesses should use climate risk data to plan for disruption to their supply chains caused by the results of global warming, UK government advisers have said. The Committee on Climate Change’s adaption sub-committee, a body that advises government on coping with global warming, found that although some progress had been made in raising awareness of climate change, “very little tangible action” had taken.
In a report the committee argues that extreme weather such as floods, heatwaves and droughts are likely to become more frequent as a result of future climate change.
By 2080, sea levels could rise by around 25cm near Edinburgh and Belfast and by around 40cm near London and Cardiff, if the world does not mitigate greenhouse gas emissions. Organisations should develop “business continuity plans based on high-quality climate risk information so that businesses can cope better with disruptions to their supply chains during floods and damage to assets from severe weather.” The UK needs to ensure there is resilience to cope with climate change by focusing on five key areas: land use planning, infrastructure, buildings, natural resources and emergency planning. “The UK must start acting now to prepare for climate change. If we wait, it will be too late. It is not necessarily about spending more but about spending smart and investing to save. If we get it right, we can save money in the short term and avoid large extra costs in the future.”
MINNESOTA – Monday’s 80-degree high temperature in the Twin Cities was a brief step into the FREAK section of the weather records.
The HIGH temperature for the day occurred at 11:37 p.m. – just before midnight – culminating a rapid evening warmup on the next-to-last day of summer. It was 27 degrees warmer than the low for the day, recorded at 10 a.m.
It was the first 80-degree reading in the entire month of September. It may turn out to be the only one.
It was the third-latest 80+ temperature on record.
The warmup fell off quickly. By 3 a.m. the temperature had dropped 13 degrees to 67 as heavy thunderstorms moved across the metro area.
The surfaces of the oceans went through a short period of rapid temperature change 40 years ago, scientists have found – but the cause is known. Top layers of Northern Hemisphere water cooled by about 0.3C; the south saw roughly the same degree of warming. Air pollution cannot be responsible for the changes, as has been suggested for mid-century cooling.
Researchers do not suggest a cause. It is not clear what could link all the oceans.
However, events called Great Salinity Anomalies have been recorded in the last few decades in the North Atlantic Ocean – including one around 1970. The 1970s global temperature record shows a period where the Earth’s surface cooled in the Northern Hemisphere, while the Southern Hemisphere saw warming. It has been suggested that this difference could be accounted for by greater production of aerosols – tiny dust and soot particles – in the north, where the vast majority of the world’s industry is found. But the suddenness of the changes seen in the new research suggests that the explanation could lie elsewhere, as aerosols would be expected to take effect more gradually. “We can’t rule them out – they could be of absolutely fundamental importance – the point is the abruptness in the observed difference time series is hard to reconcile with what you’d expect aerosol loadings to do.”
The causes of the Great Salinity Anomalies (GSAs) are not clear; and they may not all have the same cause, or progress in the same pattern. In the 1970s event, fresh water appears to have entered the North Atlantic and lowered the salinity of water in the region. In large enough quantities, this freshening can slow the Atlantic portion of the global pattern of currents known as the thermohaline circulation – in popular parlance, “turning off the Gulf Stream”, as in the movie The Day After Tomorrow. The temperature shifts found may have been fairly fast, taking place over just five years, but they were glacial compared to the speed of Hollywood imagination, which had New York ice-bound within a day. If the 1970s GSA were the root cause of these rapid changes, there has to be another step in the chain that explains how the effects penetrated to other oceans, because the northern Pacfiic also cooled. In addition, later GSAs do not appear to have co-incided with global changes in ocean heat distribution.
“It’s certainly not the first time that people have noticed decadal variability in the sea surface temperatures, but I think the abruptness of the changes has been under-appreciated. That’s because there’s often smoothing done on the data; you may draw out the signal of decadal variability that way, but by smoothing you lose information about more rapid, short-term changes.” One of the scientists who first identified a major ocean temperature cycle on decadal scales – the Atlantic Multidecadal Oscillation – remains uncovinced about the value of the new research. “You have a slight cooling in one hemisphere and a slight warming in the other, and you subtract one from the other and find something – but are we going to do this for every bump and jump on the datasets? I’m not sure it tells us a lot.”
RECORD WARM SEAS – The four major Atlantic hurricanes that spun toward the Caribbean in the past month were fueled by RECORD WARM SEAS and FORMED IN AN UNPRECEDENTED 20 DAYS. With 10 weeks left in the hurricane season, more may be coming. The storms that were born off west Africa gathered strength by absorbing the ocean’s heat and swelled into Category 4-level hurricanes on the 5-step Saffir-Simpson scale. While none hit land at full speed, each packed winds of at least 131 miles an hour, stronger than Hurricane Katrina’s Category 3 winds when it devastated New Orleans at the end of August in 2005. While the six-month season is past its statistical peak, forecasters and insurers said warmer seas can lengthen the danger period to property. “The hotter the water, the higher the octane level, and there is going to be far more Category 4 and 5 hurricanes.” The season may be busy for another month. “All the ingredients” were in place for major hurricanes to form this year. “The nightmare scenario for industry losses is a Miami hit, closely followed by a New York hurricane. Gulf oil is a huge issue for the insurance industry. There’s a feeling that if something big happens, there’s going to be some hard times.” The Weather Research Center in Houston has created a model that shows a storm with the strength of Katrina or Rita would damage or destroy about 10 percent of all the oil platforms it passed over.
The National Hurricane Center predicts 2010 will have as many as 20 storms of at least 39 mile-an-hour winds, meaning they’ll be named, compared with 11 in a typical year. Lisa’s formation Tuesday brought this year’s tally to 12. The Miami center has identified five major hurricanes in 2010 compared with two in an average season when waters are cooler.
The season runs June through November, peaking around Sept. 10. After that, major storms can and do still form. In 2005, Hurricane Rita’s winds peaked at 178 miles per hour on Sept. 22. The Atlantic has had RECORD TEMPERATURES SINCE MARCH and by the end of August a swath of the ocean was 3 degrees Fahrenheit above average. The records date to 1854.
U.S. warned of threat worse than Katrina, plague, WWII – Millions could die. Financially it could make the Katrina repairs look like a pocketful of change. And it’s not a matter of if, but when. That’s the alarming warning being issued by an expert of the dangers of electromagnetic pulse damage to modern society. The issue of EMP dangers to the Earth, either from a CME, a coronal mass ejection, which basically is an eruption of power from the sun, or from a nuclear-triggered EMP wave that truly is intended to destroy a society, have been the subject of multiple reports in recent months.
The U.S. House in Agust had authorized plans to defend America’s power grid against such dangers, but the members of the Senate left citizens to fend for themselves, eliminating the contingency plans.
“The severity of the storm we’re talking about here [could produce] widespread massive damage to the power grid,.That could cause maybe a 4-10 year sort of damage to the power grid … and an inability to restore that power grid. This is clearly not something you ever want to experience firsthand, it could lead to millions of casualties…Within a matter of just a few hours, you’d worry about the loss of potable water for major metro areas. You’d lose the ability to pump and treat sewage. Within a matter of a day or so you’d be concerned about the loss of perishable foods. With a few days, you would have exhausted the food supplies available. Then within matter of three days you have probably lost total ability to maintain any sort of telecommunication infrastructure. We could be looking at a scenario here that far exceeds the casualties of any war, any natural disaster that humanity has ever experienced. And it may not be limited to North America.” Further, the social unrest from diminishing and unstable food and water supplies also could be catastrophic. “The fallout from that would be in a category … we have difficulty thinking about.”
Solar events recorded in 1859, and again in 1921, are not only probable to repeat, but inevitable. “There is nothing that has changed in the physics of the sun … that will preclude a large storm from occurring again in the future. These are a certainty to occur in the future.”
In addition, “several potential adversaries have the capability to attack the United States with a high-altitude nuclear-weapon-generated electromagnetic pulse, and others appear to be pursuing efforts to obtain that capability. A determined adversary can achieve an EMP attack capability without having a high level of sophistication…Such an attack could be launched from a freighter off the U.S. coast using a short- or medium-range missile to loft a nuclear warhead to high altitude…Iran has practiced launching a mobile ballistic missile from a vessel in the Caspian Sea. Iran has also tested high-altitude explosions of the Shahab-III, a test mode consistent with EMP attack, and described the tests as successful. Iranian military writings explicitly discuss a nuclear EMP attack that would gravely harm the United States.” [see SPACE WEATHER section below for yesterday’s wild solar eruptions]
GLOBAL ERUPTION – Wednesday morning between 0230 UT and 0600 UT, the northern hemisphere of the sun erupted in a tumult of activity. At least two dark magnetic filaments became unstable and lifted off the stellar surface, a B8-class solar flare flashed from sunspot 1109, and a bright coronal mass ejection billowed into space. The eruption is reminiscent of the global event of August 1st, which hurled a CME toward Earth and sparked Northern Lights in the United States as far south as Iowa. This time, however, the CME will miss Earth (unless it veers off course) so there should be no resulting geostorms.
SOUTHWESTERN U.S. FIREBALL – 9/21/10 – Tuesday night around 09:01 pm MDT, a dazzling fireball glided across the skies of New Mexico and west Texas. “We’ve been getting a lot of calls in the newsroom about an object – maybe a meteorite – falling from the sky.” An all-sky camera outside Santa Fe caught the object in flight. “It took 23 seconds to cross the sky and was nearly as bright as the full Moon. The fireball made a sonic boom loud enough to be heard inside above fan noise and household din. At first I thought it was thunder.” After passing over New Mexico, the fireball apparently continued on to Texas. And then a second fireball appeared: “About 7 or 8 min later we saw another fireball moving in the same direction directly over Amarillo. It was bright white and shedding white sparks.” US Space Command reports no satellites or pieces of space junk decaying at the time of the sightings. This was probably a random meteoroid — and maybe two — disintegrating in Earth’s atmosphere.
Solar Storms can Change Directions, Surprising Forecasters – Solar storms don’t always travel in a straight line. But once they start heading in our direction, they can accelerate rapidly, gathering steam for a harder hit on Earth’s magnetic field. “This really surprised us. Solar coronal mass ejections (CMEs) can start out going one way – and then turn in a different direction.” The result was so strange, at first they thought they’d done something wrong. After double- and triple-checking their work on dozens of eruptions, however, the team knew they were onto something. “Our 3D visualizations clearly show that solar storms can be deflected from high solar latitudes and end up hitting planets they might otherwise have missed.”
One of the first things they noticed was how CMEs trying to go “up” — out of the plane of the solar system and away from the planets — are turned back down again. They had to “crack the books” and spend some time at the white board to fully understand the phenomenon. In the end, the explanation was simple: The sun’s global magnetic field, which is shaped like a bar magnet, guides the wayward CMEs back toward the sun’s equator. When the clouds reach low latitudes, they get caught up in the solar wind and head out toward the planets. Once a CME is embedded in the solar wind, it can experience significant acceleration. “Knowing when a CME will arrive is crucial for predicting the onset of geomagnetic storms.”
HEALTH THREATS –
Annual flu shots may protect against heart attacks, and the earlier in the season a shot is given the greater the protection, a new British study claims.
RECORD malaria outbreak – INDIA has drafted in health workers from Medecins Sans Frontieres [Doctors Without Borders] to help tackle what they said on Friday was a record number of malaria cases in the country’s financial capital, Mumbai. It was responding to a request from the local health ministry ‘to reinforce the supply of treatment”, including for the most deadly form of the disease, which has struck 10 to 15 per cent of victims. The first six months of this year saw more than 14,700 cases of malaria – nearly as many as for the whole of 2009 – while a sharp rise in patients since the start of the monsoon rains in July has left hospitals struggling to cope.
Certain Similac-brand powder infant formulas in Guam, Puerto Rico, the USA and some parts of the Caribbean are being recalled by Abbot Labs because there is a “remote” possibility of contamination with a small common beetle.
RECALLS & ALERTS:
-Hallmark Fisheries, Charleston, Ore., is recalling several packaged crab meat products because they have the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.
Signs in False Shepherds & False Religion
“For among them are those who worm their way into households and capture idle women burdened down with sins, led along by a variety of passions, always learning and never able to come to a knowledge of the truth. Just as Jannes and Jambres resisted Moses, so these also resist the truth, men who are corrupt in mind, worthless in regard to the faith. But they will not make further progress, for their lack of understanding will be clear to all, as theirs was also.” 2 Timothy 3:6-9
