Nature Unleashed

By Regina

John 8:43-45 Why don’t you understand what I say? Because you cannot listen to my word. You are of your father the Devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning and has not stood in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he tells a lie, he speaks from his own nature, because he is a liar and the father of liars. Yet because I tell the truth, you do not believe me.

Mankind has proved itself to be in Satan’s image, and for this reason calamity comes upon mankind. Witnessing mass deaths in the animal kingdom of the past week, many ask why, but when told why, they do not believe. Instead they mock, they curse, and they seek answers where there aren’t any and truth where there are only falsehoods.

In the book of Ephesians we are given a description of the nature of the unbelievers who by their own natures they are children under wrath, carrying out the inclinations of their flesh and thoughts.

Ephesians 2:1-2 And you were dead in your trespasses and sins in which you previously walked according to this worldly age, according to the ruler of the atmospheric domain, the spirit now working in the disobedient

Yahweh’s nature is also His weapon of mass destruction. It is also the medium in which His messages are delivered. This planet is poisoned from the highest reaches of the sky to the very depths of the ocean and its people are too. He is angry; furious with those who oppose Him.

Isaiah 10:25 In just a little while My wrath will be spent and My anger will turn to their destruction.

Isaiah 34:2 The LORD is angry with all the nations- furious with all their armies. He will set them apart for destruction, give them over to slaughter.

As Yahweh unleashes His nature… His weapons of war upon unbelieving mankind, those unbelievers, those children of Satan – their end is destruction.

Philippians 3:19 Their end is destruction; their god is their stomach; their glory is in their shame. They are focused on earthly things,

By Deborah

1. having committed an offense, crime, violation, or wrong, esp. against moral or penal law; justly subject to a certain accusation or penalty; culpable: The jury found her guilty of murder.

2. characterized by, connected with, or involving guilt: guilty intent.

3. having or showing a sense of guilt, whether real or imagined: a guilty conscience.

Each one of us is guilty. Every single person has been born into secondary sin due to the acts committed by Adam and Eve.

Psalm 51:5 Indeed, I was guilty [when I] was born; I was sinful when my mother conceived me.

Ezra 9:7 Our guilt has been terrible from the days of our fathers until the present. Because of our iniquities we have been handed over, along with our kings and priests, to the surrounding kings, and to the sword, captivity, plundering, and open shame, as it is today.

Yet rather than destroying us completely, Yahweh has given us the chance to live.

Ezra 9:13 After all that has happened to us because of our evil deeds and terrible guilt—though You, our God, have punished [us] less than our sins [deserve] and have allowed us to survive —

Even though mankind has been given many signs with time and opportunity to turn from our ways and humble ourselves before the LORD, most have not repented.

2 Chronicles 33:23 But he did not humble himself before the LORD like his father Manasseh humbled himself; instead, Amon increased [his] guilt.

But the days of sin rebellion are coming to an end.

Hosea 9:7 The days of punishment have come; the days of retribution have come. Let Israel recognize it! The prophet is a fool, and the inspired man is insane, because of the magnitude of your guilt and hostility.

Hosea 9:9 They have deeply corrupted themselves as in the days of Gibeah. He will remember their guilt; He will punish their sins.

The LORD has seen all that has been done and has found us guilty.

Ezekiel 22:4 You are guilty of the blood you have shed, and you are defiled from the idols you have made. You have brought your [judgment] days near and have come to your years [of punishment]. Therefore, I have made you a disgrace to the nations and a mockery to all the lands.

Deserved curses and judgment have come.

Isaiah 24:6 Therefore a curse has consumed the earth, and its inhabitants have become guilty; the earth’s inhabitants have been burned, and only a few survive.

2 Peter 3:7 But by the same word the present heavens and earth are held in store for fire, being kept until the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men.

We would like to announce the arrival of Book Two, the continuation of Chosen: End Times Truths Revealed.

Book Two starts where the first book left off and includes accounts from ministers Regina, Johanna, Deborah, and Elisha, describing their individual journeys and experiences in their service to Yahweh and Christ over the past several years in autobiographical form.

It is available in .pdf form for free via and will be updated monthly.

The Journey Continues

Below is a sneak-peek of each of the books included in Chosen, Book Two

There are many days in which I feel as though I must stop and focus and just try to get through the next 24 hours, some days even just the next hour, and then that day passes and the next arrives and passes, and arrives until all of a sudden a year has passed, and then two and four and now five. It’s odd how time can seem to pass so slowly and quickly at the same time. Many of these days, the good and the not-so-good, I will recount here and many have receded to the deeper recesses of my mind but what I’m able to remember, I share with you here honestly and openly…

On October 2nd or 3rd of 2005, I was on this website were there were camera’s placed through out peoples homes who claimed that they were being haunted. I have always liked supernatural things. I believed in ghost, angels and demons. I started talking to this woman and asked her how she see’s the things that she does. I also told her that I believed in spirit guides. She told me that she couldn’t help me with the guides but that she knew of a website where I could find some answers. She sent me the link to a forum by the name of “Beyond This World”. After looking at a few things and noticing that they had psychic exercises I decided to sign up to become a member…

Word came to us toward the end of May 2010 that we were to begin documenting our experiences ending where Chosen left off. Each Minister is to produce a “book” of our own that will be incorporated into Chosen. Its a little daunting to say the least. I have not been journaling as Regina has been (it isn’t something I naturally do). Also, I actually do not have a very good memory. But I trust that those things that Father wishes us to recall we will. We have been guided by Michael to read the book of ACTS to guide us. It seems to focus on events that show times of strong guidance from/interactions with Holy Spirit…

In 2006, I was able to reconnect with a long time friend. I found out she had co-authored a book. Considering how we had grown up together I was interested in the fact that she had written one and wanted to read it myself. She, Regina, sent me the book and some more details about it. I found out it was a lot to take in and did so in baby steps with much prayer and guidance from Father. I was blessed to freely ask any question of Regina and felt comfortable in doing so. I read the book with an open mind and while some of it confirmed my deepest suspicions other information provided was such an eye-opener…

Nourishment from the Throne

“For the LORD gives wisdom. From His mouth come knowledge and understanding.” Proverbs 2:6

Converts – Why?

Alderra: I hope Joe or someone can help me out here.

To die, and be reborn gives one a second chance at life, albeit in very different environment. Still, that a human passes over and is given a real chance to live forever, and yet turns it down, knowing full well that they will die, is a mystery to me.

So why do humans who have passed over convert?

Is it:

1. An attachment to the things behind

2. A simple party vote – righteous rule or independent?

3. They think Satan has a point and will win the war

How long does it take for a human who passes over to be a convert after they are educated about Yahweh’s Sovereign Laws?

Can converts repent? I would have thought this unlikely since they are created perfect, like the angels, and there is nowhere for them to fall but down.

What does a convert gain by its actions? What do they hope to achieve in the limited time that they have?

Joe: Hello! We’ll take this a step at a time:

“To die, and be reborn gives one a second chance at life, albeit in very different environment.”

Yes, and is exactly why they were reanimated to the other side. Over there, many passing to that side never had heard the truth. For one reason or another they were deprived of that opportunity. Early deaths from sickness, murder, etc. So, when they receive rebirth to the other side, they then are guided to the Edge of Light House of Worship. There, they are counseled on what is the TRUTH. They have the choice of acceptance and becoming slaves of Christ and Mother Yahweh, or declining the offer. Their HEARTS dictate their inner desire that is manifested in the choice they make. Some lack experience in life and proper training as a child in learning the truth, and this is a contributing factor to choosing to decline making the commitment and thereby refusal of crossing on over to Mother’s side of the Sovereignty issue. But please keep in mind that they have passed over, or more aptly are in the process of passing over to either the prospect of eternal life, or that of eternal death. You see, if you choose not to accept Mother’s side, then you are still passing over – to eventual eternal death. But depending on the heart condition, the latter does not deter those inclined to defy Mother’s Ruler-ship any more than it inclined the angels that fell from perfection. But being re-birthed in the spirit realm does not make you perfect, because without knowledge and action on your part, you cannot yet have attained that perfected state. And if you accept the mercy provided and you cross on over to the holy family’s side after having learned the truth and are fully cleansed, but you later pull away, then you are in the same boat that Adam and Eve and Satan and his angels are in. Non redeemable. It is however noteworthy that not a single child raised up in the truth in the spirit realm has refused Mother’s side when coming of age to make a decision on service to Her throne of Authority.

“a human passes over and is given a real chance to live forever, and yet turns it down, knowing full well that they will die, is a mystery to me.”

The rebirth to the other side is the promise of mercy carried out in fulfillment of Our Mother’s Promise to spare Adam and Eve’s offspring with a chance of being reunited to Her family. But just as it is in the visible physical realm, it also holds true in the spirit realm. What is here is also over there. That includes the Way things are progressively handled. Here, you are born. Then you crawl, walk, and run. Over there, you are re-birthed. You are indoctrinated to the truth (crawl.) You either accept, and walk towards Mother and Christ’s family, or you run the opposite direction. What anyone does – chooses – it is determined by how the truth affects them. You are given no time limit on your decision, but you could run out of time at the coming Judgment. On the time limit question, if that was the case, the converts would all be without a chance of salvation. Once you hear the truth of the Sovereignty issue and know the penalty for choosing Satan’s side if he fails to win your right to live under the rules of the spiritual war’s outcome, whereas you are caught still with his side at Armageddon, you are then nonredeemable. The opportune time has past. You are also warned of the consequence if you accept the mercy and cross on over to Mother’s side and then later pull away. To be perfected is to be in compliance with Mother Yahweh’s Sovereignty. That is a commitment that should not be taken lightly. What will break anyone’s perfection is the willful sin of going against Her. That is breaking from Her Way and the willful disregard for Her law and order She is comprised of. Once you are in the spirit realm and have personally come to know what is truth, if you commit, you must remain faithful or you will have forfeited your portion of the mercy allotted to Adam and Eve’s offspring. As it would be better on this side to have never heard the truth than to hear it and disregard it, it would be better to decline the offer of crossing over unless you know you will not falter in the Way you have chosen. Because until the opportune time runs out, unless you have committed vile acts as a convert, your portion of the allotted mercy could save your eternal soul if you came in under the wire before the wrath arrives to extinguish the rebels on Satan’s side.

“and yet turns it down, knowing full well that they will die, is a mystery to me.”

Each person and spirit have different thoughts on what they believe is Paradise. Satan wanted to be a god. The first group of fallen angels wanted to live on the earth as humans. To them, that would’ve been better than their immediate lot in life they previously experienced. More angels that chose Satan’s side at the expulsion from Heaven, they desired free will without being slaves to what Mother wanted and expected of them. Why be a mere bee in a multitude of millions when you could be a star in Satan’s hive, and do pretty much as you please. That was the idea of free will without restrictions. Eve, she was like the angels tempted to come to the earth, she wanted something she was not yet entitled to. The concept of those angels living on the earth as humans so they could know the joy of humanity, and Eve wanting to become like Mother Yahweh: “”In fact, God knows that when you eat it your eyes will be opened and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” Did Satan lie at the quoted Genesis 3:5? No. In truth he was very accurate in that part of his statement. Where he lied was: “No! You will not die,” at Genesis 3:4. The very fact that the “3” represents his seeking unity with mankind as his personal possession, and the “4” represents that justice would be squared for the infraction of his part of breaking law and adding the defamation of Mother’s name in the process, that and the other mentioned reveals that breaking law in any form in a willing capacity with action on the part of all parties involved is unforgivable. First and foremost is, actions bring judgments, not thoughts of doing evil. If thoughts were the standard for breaking law, there would be no holy family. Can malicious spoken words be carried into sin? Yes because it is an action taken by the tongue with forethought:

Luke 12:10 “Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but the one who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven.”

Remember that Satan broke law by speaking a lie. He exhibited forethought and then action on his own part to deliver the blasphemous lie. This is why action on the part of any intelligent creation is the regulation and principle of law setting the standard for sinful conduct. But it is not action alone. We have spoken of the coupling effect in the past, and it also applies here. Most importantly is the coupler viewed in Mother Yahweh’s view of breaking Her law. Action alone is mere action. But if you couple a willful mind into the equation, then you have coupled the two things that can cost you your eternal life. So now we come to Adam. Adam because all past sinners are our examples. Adam coupled two things. One must come before the other or there is no malice involved. If you act without thinking, then you have not coupled the act with fore-malice of thought. For example, if either Eve or Adam had eaten from the forbidden tree mistakenly, then they intended no malice to break law on either of their parts. But because Adam weighed the gravity of his mate Eve’s action, and knowing she broke law because she sought to be like our Mother, and deciding that he preferred eternal death with his mate over following Mother’s law as they had been instructed to do, and warned of the consequence for doing otherwise, he. like Eve and Satan, became nonredeemable without some type of ransom being paid under Mother’s law that would cover their gross sin against Her throne of authority. Christ Jesus Ransom Sacrifice could not cover those three because he would have had to have remained in death for eternity. So, no sacrifice was found for these 3 unified sinners that willfully broke law.

“and yet turns it down, knowing full well that they will die, is a mystery to me.”

In this visible world, many people take chances knowing they could result in death. People rob banks for the thrill they get, and thy know that action could end their lives on this plane of existence. Most of then do not even believe in God or the after life. Many are like the ghosts that become converts because they have no conscience. But unless they are criminals before they cross over, then they receive the same opportunity to accept the truth or decline. This does not mean they will not further degrade if they choose to be converted to Satan’s side. Some lived life fantasizing a life of crime but never acted on their thoughts. What they fed their minds with in the visible world travels with them to the other side. Remember that Christ paid for all of Adam and Eve’s offspring. So all are handled on an individual basis. Exceptions to the rule are those caught at a judgment. They serve as examples. Dawn Lucifer, a shining star in the heavens because he was so beautiful and held in such gracious esteem by our Mother – turned down his position of being the governing Cherub of this planet for a different and opposed position against his Creator, and he well knew that the penalty could result in eternal death, but he gambled, just like the converts gamble that they will somehow not fall under Mother’s grinding chariot wheels of administered justice. But there’s really no mystery to it. It is spelled out in the all knowing Word given to us as a daily guide that acts as a helper in our daily lives to keep us from making their mistakes. When anyone willingly sins, they are not just a sinner, but are viewed as traitors to Mother’s Throne of Authority. Mother has never betrayed anyone in creation, but She has many betrayers that have left Her for their own willful desires. The desires are a list of emotions that well up in them and settle down in their hearts. But in the end analysis, they are all betrayers and destroyers of what is good. They are like their true father, Satan:

Isaiah 33:1 “[ The LORD Rises Up ] Woe, you destroyer never destroyed, you traitor never betrayed! When you have finished destroying, you will be destroyed. When you have finished betraying, they will betray you.”

Who will betray those that have betrayed our Mother and Her family? It will be the holy family that stands firmly for Mother’s side in this Sovereignty issue.

History repeats itself where sin is involved:

Jeremiah 35:17 “Therefore, this is what the LORD, the God of Hosts, the God of Israel, says: I will certainly bring to Judah and to all the residents of Jerusalem all the disaster I have pronounced against them because I have spoken to them, but they have not obeyed, and I have called to them, but they would not answer.”

Was that not what occurred with Adam and Eve after they sinned and went into hiding?

Genesis 3:8, 9 Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the LORD God walking in the garden at the time of the evening breeze, and they hid themselves from the LORD God among the trees of the garden. So the LORD God called out to the man and said to him, “Where are you?”And he said, “I heard You in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked, so I hid.” Then He asked, “Who told you that you were naked? Did you eat from the tree that I had commanded you not to eat from?” And he said, “I heard You in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked, so I hid.”

“So why do humans who have passed over convert?”

The same reasons all humans and spirits that do not immediately accept the truth. There is no one reason. If that was the case it would be less complicated to understand. But instead, there are a variety of things that keep not only converts, but earth bound humans also from committing to Christ and our Mother Yahweh. I’ve cited three once perfected sinners above, and those angels of the earlier fall. But there’s also Judas Iscariot. His was greed. He wanted wealth more than eternal life. And when received, it left a bitter taste in his mouth, and though he regretted his action, just like Adam and Eve regretted theirs and sought to hide from Mother’s presence because of the guilt, Judas killed himself. He was not reanimated on the other side. His payment for sin was paid in full at the time of his death.

Psalm 146:4 “When his breath leaves him, he returns to the ground; on that day his plans die.”

So with Judas his plan of being wealthy died with him. And now we have raised yet another question that must be addressed. Why was he not reanimated on the other side since he was the offspring of Adam and Eve?

Psalm 146:5 “Happy is the one whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the LORD his God,the Maker of heaven and earth, the sea and everything in them. He remains faithful forever, executing justice for the exploited and giving food to the hungry. The LORD frees prisoners.”

Judas traded his hope for eternal life – the prospect of living in Paradise – for something thieves could easily have stolen from him. Pure greed on his part, so he forfeited his promised “hope” by willfully coupling two things together:

1. He planned to sin against his Lord Christ and Yahweh, and conspired with other evil men to do so.

2. He put his malice thought into action. With that done, he became the next casualty of this long drawn out spiritual war, but nonetheless, he did it to himself.

Whether he listened to Satan’s inspiration is no less a defense than Eve’s defense that the serpent told her a lie to deceive her. Each person has a mind of free will to sort matters out and make rational decisions. Because of this reasoning power of the mind our Mother gave each of us, no one can offer a defense of “I was deceived.” Deception is simply not a defense for breaking law willfully. So with the converts, some feel it is better to not commit and then possibly fall short of the mark. They want more time to sort things out. To get a feel whether or not Satan might win his sides chess pieces the right to continued existence. While other coverts simply refuse to be under Mother Yahweh’s arrangement of holy ghosts. They are content to stay on the earth and pursue the things they find stimulating to their minds and hearts. They all know they are on borrowed time if Satan fails, but like humankind in the visible realm, many choose to put the coming judgment out of their minds. They are “having to much fun doing their thing” or so they say.

But now the question of the penalty for sin must be addressed. If death is the penalty, then why would the converts be looking to die a second death for not accepting Christ’s Ransom Sacrifice and trying to sit on the fence in this ever waging conflict if they paid for sin at the time they perished off the visible fleshly plane? The reason is this: Under the law that Adam and Eve broke, the offspring are under the eternal death sentence, and remain under it, unless they come under the Ransom Sacrifice. That is a Sacrifice that is Provisional. Dying and being reanimated does not constitute payment in full for sin unless Mother Yahweh accepts the payment rendered. But only Christ’s death is worthy of paying the debt of the human offspring that are covered by provisional intervention through Christ’s Sacrifice.

“provisional >adjective 1 arranged or existing for the present, possibly to be changed later. 2 (Provisional) relating to the unofficial wings of the IRA and Sinn Fein. >noun (Provisional) a member of the Provisional wing of the IRA or Sinn Fein.
-DERIVATIVES provisionality >noun provisionally >adverb.”

The provision that changes the eternal death sentence is this:

Romans 6:3 “Or are you unaware that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death?'”

To be baptized into Christ’s death is to be Ransomed out of the second death. This applies only to the offspring of Adam and Eve. It did not apply to Adam, Eve, Satan, or the fallen angels. They knew the penalty for falling from perfection meant no redemption for their action if it was done with malice. Although Satan has died a thousand deaths over the history of his fall, he is each time classed as being “asleep in death” and not yet destroyed. This is because he must officially be destroyed coupled with his prophetic demise. But what of Judas Iscariot? He too was the offspring of Adam and Eve.His second death came with our Mother’s Judgment. What then of those that have perished at other judgments, such as the global flood, and Sodom and Gomorrah, and many others? They all died a second death in the Judgments. This is why:

Ecclesiastes 12:7 and the dust returns to the earth as it once was, and the spirit returns to God who gave it.”

The dust is the vessel, and the spirit is what powered life freely given from our Mother. Adam and Eve were already judged, so there was no need for reanimation and then execution. Yahweh’s pronouncement of eternal death came at each of the pairs demise in the pre-flood era.. But the pre-flood offspring till alive were under the judgment at the time the great flood occurred, and even though the Sacrifice had not yet taken place, they were administered the judgment of the second death as a warning to those that transgress in a willful manner.

“How long does it take for a human who passes over to be a convert after they are educated about Yahweh’s Sovereign Laws?”

All humans that pass over are labeled as ghosts. When any ghost resist the truth, they do so by making no advancement in the steps to becoming a holy ghost which is termed as “crossing over.” Failure to take the holy ghost oath then emancipates the ghosts as “converted ghosts” to Satan’s side of the Sovereignty issue. By making no contact with the demons, they are in a better position to reenter the 7 step program that leads them to acceptance of the truth and the taking upon their shoulders (symbolically) the Cross of Salvation. With that comes a heavy burden to remain faithful.

“emancipate >verb 1 set free, especially from legal, social, or political restrictions. 2 free from slavery.
-DERIVATIVES emancipation >noun emancipator >noun emancipatory >adjective.
-ORIGIN Latin emancipare ‘transfer as property’, from mancipium ‘slave’.”

To be under Christ and Yahweh you must cross over and become a slave to do Mother’s Will. To be a convert for free will without restriction is as the definition states above. It simply means Satan is not permitted to enslave the converts for his own use in the war effort. The interim, like here in the visible plane for humans not yet passed over, is an opportune time to rationalize the truth of what is going on and come to a free will decision. No one is forced to do anything, for the exception of Satan and his demons. If they do not try to win this war, they will all be imprisoned in the Orange Plane awaiting the second death. That threat keeps the majority in line. Once you ho in the OP, there’s no guarantee you can come back out to resume the war effort. All demons killed in battles are dumped in the OP as waste material. It is up to our Mother whether they receive reanimation’s or not.

Revelation 2:11 “Anyone who has an ear should listen to what the Spirit says to the churches. The victor will never be harmed by the second death.”

In Heaven, our Holy Ghost Orders are made up of churches.

Revelation 20:14 “Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire.”

Revelation 21:8 “But the cowards, unbelievers, vile, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars—their share will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.”

“Can converts repent?”

Yes, if they have not overstepped the boundary of Adamic sin. If they have, they are:

Matthew 12:31, 32 “Because of this, I tell you, people will be forgiven every sin and blasphemy, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven. Whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him. But whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him, either in this age or in the one to come.”

“I would have thought this unlikely since they are created perfect, like the angels, and there is nowhere for them to fall but down.”

That’s a misconception. The ghosts passing over are not perfected because perfection comes through knowledge of our Mother from the Word that is taught by aid of Mother’s Holy Spirit. To be perfected one must come to an accurate knowledge of the truth. When the Israelites passed through the Red Sea, they did not fully comprehend Mother or Her laws. Those law were given in the wilderness with Her Presence upon a Mountain Top. Many did not accept the laws nor Her Authority to enforce them, and so they died in the Wilderness. This was even though they had eye witnessed Her miracles to deliver them out of bondage. They knew She was real and that She was in charge and using Moses as Her spokesman. It is no different for the humans that have passed over from the sea of red blood that comprised their vessels to an environment of spiritual life to learn the truth and take an oath in acceptance of Christ’s Sacrifice, or not, as the case might be for all that are enlightened to the truth.

If the converts are caught outside the door at Armageddon, this will be the scenario they face if they then want in:

Luke 11:7 “Then he will answer from inside and say, ‘Don’t bother me! The door is already locked, and my children and I have gone to bed. I can’t get up to give you anything.'”

“What does a convert gain by its actions?”

Time without hindrance. The expanse is a large place to explore. But, most of them prefer the earth. They either watch the holy side and demons in conflict, or as some do, they get involved helping the demons.

“What do they hope to achieve in the limited time that they have?”

To be free from obligation. They all share in hoping Satan wins, or else they would not remain on the fringe. Some are vocal about it and taking an active part, while others remain silently watching which side is gaining the most ground in the war effort. The old timer converts say that it’s always been this way since they got there, and they erroneously expect no change, just more of the same. They watch the United States as it gears up to take on the expected holy invaders. They know Satan has passed the knowledge that powers mankind to kill holy spirit energy. All of the advancements gives them hope that Satan can be a victor at Armageddon as he leads both his human allies and his spirit forces in an attempt to save his empire here on earth. Just hold on to your faith Brother.

The Sons of Light against the Sons of Darkness

Joe – Seraiah’s back and is serving as a destroyer angel. Look to the skies and the waters and the new curse being brought upon this planet as he brings calamity in revoking Yahweh’s previous commandment concerning this:

Genesis 1:26 “Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness. They will rule the fish of the sea, the birds of the sky, the animals, all the earth, and the creatures that crawl on the earth.”

Ecclesiastes 9:12 “For man certainly does not know his time: like fish caught in a cruel net, or like birds caught in a trap, so people are trapped in an evil time, as it suddenly falls on them.”

Mankind has proved itself to be in Satan’s image. Mankind has been revoked of any rule over the animal kingdom as Seraiah brings devastation to the wildlife as a preview of what mankind can expect to rain down upon itself and surface from the depths of a poisoned planet. The rain of dead fowl and sea life coming to the surface will reveal the stagnation of mankind’s own future fate. The curse coupled with plague is ever widening on this planet. Look beyond Arkansas children. Remain steadfast in your faith. Only a remnant will survive what has come in upon this planet.

Look for entire towns being swallowed up by the earth as Mother’s curse against mankind seeks to free this planet from Satan’s grip. The curse was removed from the earth after the great flood. but not from mankind. Now the curse on them has gone into full swing. Seraiah is leading the way in bringing calamity. The LOZ will soon challenge the governments of this planet for air supremacy. Past power passed to them by Satan will then be revoked as they are also cut to the ground like their father.

Numbers 16:32 “The earth opened its mouth and swallowed them and their households, all Korah’s people, and all [their] possessions.”

Exodus 15:12 “You stretched out Your right hand, and the earth swallowed them.”

Isaiah 9:16 “The leaders of the people mislead [them], and those they mislead are swallowed up.”

Isaiah 14:12 “Shining morning star, how you have fallen from the heavens! You destroyer of nations, you have been cut down to the ground.”

He will soon lose air supremacy over this planet’s skies.

Isaiah 54:16 “Look, I have created the craftsman who blows on the charcoal fire and produces a weapon suitable for its task; and I have created the destroyer to work havoc.”

Seraiah is now working havoc as Mother Yahweh’s mighty right hand of bringing justified evil upon evil.

Seraiah has informed me that the earth will soon begin the underground tremors on a global scale that all can feel that builds to the great worldwide earthquake. He said the scientists will give much speculation on why they are being felt around the globe. Each new tremor will build in intensity until the final large quake occurs that rocks the earth’s foundation to its very core.

Hives of Creation – Part Two

Joe: Here’s a site that might explain the process on the wave frequencies. I only know what Liddia shared with me about the workings of the process using a radio device, because I have never personally utilized it. But I was taught early on how to resonate through sound, so I know it would not be difficult to make use of the technology they revealed during that episode.

Regina: Just this past week (no coincidences right?) I was looking into what’s called a Real Time Voice recorder. It allows you to record and hear what is said within 5 seconds of it being said. I was thinking it’d be a neat thing to have if it worked but boy are they pricey!

Joe: It sounds nice, but you really need nothing more than your mind. I told Seraiah a long time ago when I knew him as only Jackson that like the musical instrument he played (a guitar) that was in need of tuning at the time, that his mind could be tuned to hear more than just my voice, just like his guitar could be finely tuned to play beautiful music. Like all things in Mother’s creation, it takes time to develop abilities. And just as Christ enhanced his own communication with the spirit realm by fasting and going without sleep for periods of time, because when the flesh becomes weary and the mind is taxed from loss of rest, then the doorway to the other side is enhanced. I believe that happens because of the way Michael created the human brain. When the brain starts to feel it can no longer function properly in its vessel without rest that comes in the form of regenerative sleep, it lowers its resistance from all fleshly thinking and tunes in the spirit world in an automatic mode. This is why people see visions when they have fasted and gone without sleep for many days. The channel of communication to the other side is then fully opened and the mind becomes receptive to whatever is being communicated from the other side. But with practice, this can become a normal thing without sleep deprivation or starving yourselves. You just need to condition your mind to hear what others do not, and to close your eyes for a time during the day and see into the spirit realm, because anytime you close your eyes, you have opened the doorway to the other side. Sometimes it’s all black, and this is because your mind’s brain is veiling what could be seen, causing a chemically induced restriction, which people on some drugs have found alters this mechanism – however, not recommended, because the natural order of things should not be interfered with unless you are suffering from a medical condition that requires such medication. Then you should take it to bring your brain’s chemical function back into balance. No recreational drugs should be used to enhance your abilities because you cannot trust drug induced connections to the other side. Your brain can also produce false imagery just like it does in a dream with the use of certain drugs that are not prescribed, and some that are prescribed sometimes cause that effect, but they are taken out of necessity. But, otherwise, if you keep focusing on what is out there, you will begin to see something taking form, and like a dream, except you are fully awake, you will see what is around you and trying to communicate. The reason Christ fasted and went without sleep to make contact at the times he did, was because his time was limited, and he was being instructed by Mother’s Spirit to do so at those times. Usually though, Christ was in contact by prayer, but when Mother wanted to give him something personally from Her, that’s when he would pull away from others and go off by himself for extended periods of time. He was in a unique situation, and therefore he was stressed to the limit, and in being in that position, he was cared for and nurtured directly from the holy angels sent by Mother in times of distress and when his feelings of being overcome by Satan’s dark cloudy atmosphere were such a burden he felt he might crack under the pressure.

I need to finish posting the pics to this thread. If anyone was afraid of ugly looking casts, perhaps now their fears will be stripped away. Our Mother is not the Author of anything truly vile looking. Casts are merely a way of sending a message. If they are by demons and converts that are trying to instill fear, then look beyond what the cast looks like for those that are the true source of what you are viewing. You will be surprised to find out they are putting on a false production in that the ugly faces are nothing more than a ganged effect by a group of angels or converts or mixture making that cast. Even holy angels cast warrior faces, just like the demons do, but they are a sign that says “We are fierce competitors and you have just bit off more than you can chew!” And you will also find that holy ghosts have a sense of humor in that they cast cartoon faces? I know, because I’ve done that myself! When you are the master over your thoughts, and you can cast something funny looking in a world that is suffering and full of so many harsh realities, then why not cast in a way that will put a smile on peoples faces.

In this desaturated crop, you will note that there are literally dozens and dozen of casts in large, medium, and small sizes. In fact children, each cast pic contains so many layers on top of layers, and so much lighting changes to reveal all that is contained herein, reversing, rotations of the pic, that you would never reach the bottom of all of the casts layered within just this crop. Everything was worked out during the casts, and the spirits regardless of the war board side they are on, are artists at embedding multiple casts in a stacking effect that could make a single pic your life’s work in trying to decipher the entirety of it with its imagery and decoding the written messages contained within it. So don’t feel bad if you miss some of the images when marking. Always – always simply look for the basic message which is usually contained in the first layer of casts. It’s like the address on an envelope. It’s the very first thing on the top of the envelope. The rest is just chit chat they have embedded. The crust is on the surface. In a moment, I will reveal a way to isolate the “crust” a portion at a time.

This crop as an example. You see a face or lettering you want to examine more closely. I’ve found a white background is best, so just follow me on this and I will leave you an “Isolator” to use to place your cuts on. I forget where the isolator pic was obtained from, but it works well for my needs. Next, size you pics so they fit inside the egg shape of the white and you can easily view that portion separate from the rest of the pic. It is dissecting the puzzle of the pic on its surface a portion at a time. Here is the first step. Cut away the part you want to paste on the isolator background.

Then have your program open with the background ready to receive the cut portion.

This method might not suit your own needs, because we each have our own way of doing things. It is only a suggestion. I like it because like anything dissected, it is easier to slide a single piece under the microscope and thoroughly study all of its features. There will be more on the Hives of Creation children. But I wanted to share all of this with you first. Much love to you all *hugs*

Regina: I have a guide who really likes to cast as a yellow cartoon duck and always manages to make me laugh when he/she does it. I love Spirit-humor!

Cordelia: I want to thank ALL my guides but especially the ones who cast a dog and possibly a cat in the mirror pic that I took. It’s a great joy to look at those pics.

Joe: Yes, there are some jolly holy ghosts that are more comical than others.

Regina, you have been connected long enough to the holy side to have a repository of images hidden within your vessel. To find what beautiful things are stored within, I need you to do this to open the door. Take your index fingers and place the outer edged sides of them in against your closed eyes and gently rub inward in a circular motion. Then gently but firmly hold pressure inward to see what is revealed. It will be a sensation of having your eyes open in respect to seeing what is there, but you must keep them closed and the pressure adjusted to bring forth the images. Practice until you can achieve this ability to draw up what is hidden. You will be pleasantly surprised at what you see. You will sense that it’s nothing you’ve seen in the past, nor is it stored images from watching TV or looking at other things. It will all be new and wondrous looking to you.

ARGENTINA – Northern Argentina hit by 7.0 quake. There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage, and the deep quake occurred at a depth of 583.6 kilometres (362.6 miles).

Pending threat of enormous earthquakes – A physicist and author of “Physics of the Future” warned world citizens New Year’s Eve morning on Good Morning America about the pending threat of enormous earthquakes. “In our life time, we could very well see one of these cities destroyed – Los Angeles, San Francisco, Mexico City, Tehran, Tokyo.”

He pointed to changes in the physical structures of human civilization, and how the new composure poses many risks. “We are creating mega cities where there used to be fishing villages.” About the many disasters this year, he said: “Well, look at the Chilean earthquake. You realize it was so big it actually rocked the planet earth. The axis of the earth shifted 3 inches as a result of that 8.8 earthquake. The day is no longer 24 hours, it’s been shortened by one micro-second, That’s how big that earthquake was.”

A strong earthquake has shaken central Chile, disrupting power and communications but causing no casualties or serious damage. The quake had a magnitude of 7.1 and its epicentre was 70km (45 miles) northwest of Temuco with a depth of 25km. Hundreds of people in coastal areas fled to higher ground for fear of a tsunami, but no alert was issued. “Up until now we don’t have any reports of injuries, there’s no damage, just overloaded telephone lines and some partial power cuts.” An 8.8-magnitude quake in the same area last February caused huge destruction. Chile is still rebuilding after February’s massive quake, which smashed infrastructure and triggered a tsunami that devastated several coastal towns, killing more than 400 people.

IRAN – A 5.3-magnitude earthquake jolted southern Iran on Wednesday, injuring 16 people and destroying as many as 10 villages. The quake struck at 9:25 am (5:55 GMT) in the Ardakan region of Fars province. “Sixteen people have been injured, while 17 villages have been damaged, of which six to 10 are completely destroyed.” At least five aftershocks occurred after the main quake, which also rattled the provincial capital of Shiraz.

Iran sits astride several major fault lines in the Earth’s crust and is prone to frequent quakes, many of which have been devastating. A quake on December 21 in the southeastern province of Kerman had left seven people dead, wrecked several villages and brought down power lines. The deadliest in recent times was a 6.3-magnitude quake which hit the southern city of Bam in December 2003, killing 31,000 people – about a quarter of its population – and destroying the city’s ancient mud-built citadel.

Two thousand years ago Mount Vesuvius destroyed Pompeii. Today, a larger, far more deadly supervolcano lurks on the other side of Naples. If it erupts, Campi Flegrei could wipe out all life in Europe. An international team wants to drill down inside the caldera to try to better understand exactly why part of it has risen 10ft since 1969. The area at the epicentre of the swelling has seen whole streets of houses crumble and collapse. The threat is imminent. The last time the ground rose like this (between 1430 and 1538) there was an eruption that caused the formation of a new volcano.

“The future eruption begins with a swarm of 1,000 small earthquakes that ripple under the pavements of Naples. Air-conditioning units fall from the sides of buildings and tiles slip from the walls. Inside the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology’s control centre, a bank of screens indicates that the quakes aren’t being generated by the giant Mount Vesuvius, which looms over the city. These quakes are coming from something far bigger, from one of the largest and most dangerous volcanoes in the world: the Campi Flegrei caldera. Vesuvius, which destroyed the Roman city of Pompeii, incinerating and suffocating thousands, is nothing more than a pimple on the back of the sleeping dragon of Campi Flegrei, an active four-mile-wide sunken volcano. A call is quickly put through to Civil Defence and the Italian Ministry of the Interior: the city must be evacuated immediately.

A short distance away, the ground around the ancient town of Pozzuoli is stretching, swelling, doming. Fumaroles – vents emitting columns of steam rich in CO2 – open up in the broken Tarmac. Four-and-a-half miles below the surface a bolt of magma has escaped the main reservoir and is rising upwards, changing and solidifying. As it reaches groundwater, it’s converted into a sponge-like stone. As the water boils away it feeds critical amounts of gas into the sponge, and the pressure builds until finally it explodes like a malfunctioning boiler.

Hundreds of billions of cubic feet of volcanic rock blasts up into the atmosphere: an explosion 200 times greater than that of the Icelandic Eyjafjallajökull volcano, which brought chaos to Europe, grounded planes in the UK for a week and is said to have cost the world economy in excess of £3 billion. Back on the streets of Naples, it’s too late to run. Bumper-to-bumper traffic comes to a halt as drivers grind on their horns. They watch helplessly as a boiling black cloud of hot gas and rock rolls over the horizon at hurricane speed, suffocating everything in its path. In this area inhabited by millions, built in one of the most dangerous volcanic regions on earth, all life is over.”

While a new eruption at Campi Flegrei would be more likely to result in the creation of another Vesuvius-like cone, the worst-case scenario COULD SEE IT OBLITERATING MUCH OF LIFE IN EUROPE. In this eventuality the Earth’s surface would swell and crack and a series of small eruptions would cause the four-mile-wide caldera floor to collapse into the larger magma reservoir, which would in turn push more magma to the surface.

The last time the ground gave way like this, 39,000 years ago when the caldera was formed, it created the cliffs that the postcard town of Sorrento stands on now – volcanic deposits over 300ft deep. If the same kind of eruption happened today, this part of Italy could cease to exist, and the ash clouds would blot out the Sun and lower the Earth’s temperature. Life in the UK as we know it would end. We would lose our livestock, crops and three-quarters of our plant species, plunging us into a new dark age of rioting, starvation and perpetual winter.

‘Right now we may well be in another period of uplift. If it occurs as before, we might expect another 60 years’ worth of unrest, and possible earthquakes and eruptions, with two or three more episodes and uplift to occur in the next ten years. We have to presume we have a few more decades of unrest, and if this is going to be the case, then we have to get more data about the volcano now.’

Yet despite the urgency, the mayor of Naples has just dramatically halted the project. Drilling was to begin this month on the site of the old Bagnoli steel mill, on the eastern part of the caldera, but was stopped following the very public objections of a sole local scientist, who has warned that the drilling itself could actually trigger an explosion that could destroy the city. The people of Naples seem to be damned if they do and damned if they don’t.

RUSSIA – Thin layer of ash from the active Kizimen volcano on Sunday covered the city of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky where 60 percent of the Kamchatka Peninsula residents live. “A taint of grey ash typical of Kizimen can be seen on the snow, on the cars and on all of the surfaces in the city.” The layer is tiny – about 0.5 millimeters and the current situation does not pose a threat to the health of the local residents. However, the ash could affect the operations of aircraft. The Kizimen volcano is located 265 kilometers away from Petropavlovsk Kamchatsky. Kizimen’s previous eruption occurred at the end of 1920’s, but it started to exhibit activity last June and a new eruption began a month ago.

Indonesia reduces Merapi volcano alert level – Indonesia has downgraded the alert level for volcano Mount Merapi, more than a month after it began erupting, killing more than 350 people. Most of the 250,000 people who had been living in evacuation shelters can return home. An area on the volcano’s southern slope remained off limits. The volcano is still spewing smoke but the threat of a deadly eruption is thought to have passed for now. “The volcano’s threat is now limited to only some parts on the southern slope.” Merapi, on Java island, began erupting on 26 October. Most of the 353 people who died were caught in the biggest eruption on 5 November when Merapi shot out jets of boiling gas and rock. A wide area around the volcano was covered in a thick layer of ash and many homes were destroyed.

ICELAND – Eyjafjallajökull Still Rumbles. A farmer living close to the glacier-volcano Eyjafjallajökull in south Iceland said yesterday that he had heard the glacier rumble and that the noise was similar as to when it last erupted in the spring of 2010, just not as loud. “It might very well be true. If the wind is blowing in your direction, you hear it once in a while,” a policeman said. More people living in Rangárthing eystra have reported rumblings in the glacier under such wind conditions. “I don’t know what it means and it is difficult to predict anything. It started without notice last time and we know that the crater is still open and boiling.” According to information from the Icelandic Meteorological Office, there is nothing that indicates increased seismic activity in Eyjafjallajökull.

ITALY – Mt. Etna becomes active, no lava eruption recorded yet. Mount Etna in Sicily has once again become active erupting large amounts of ash. Seismologists have recorded the eruption of Mount Etna and say that it is accompanied by the ejection of volcanic ‘bombs’ (large stones) and a large amount of ash in the area southeast of the crater on Monday night. The most active emissions for duration ranging from one to three minutes occurred between midnight and two o’clock in the morning. These large volcanic ‘bombs’ reached a height of several tens of meters over the crater. By around 06.00 am the volcanic activity decreased significantly, but had not stopped completely. However, no eruption of lava has been recorded from the crater.

INDONESIA – In the worst outflow of lahar since Central Java’s Mount Merapi erupted in October, a torrent of cold lava and mud from the volcano severed several bridges and cut off a main highway for almost 18 hours until Tuesday. “In addition to destroying the Gempol main bridge on the Putih River, lahar also destroyed bridges in other villages, leading to the isolation of hundreds of residents in seven hamlets.” No casualties have been reported so far. The flood overflowed from the Putih River in Jumaya village, Salam subdistrict, on Monday night, cutting off the Magelang-Yogyakarta highway at Kilometer 23 for almost 18 hours until about 1 p.m. on Tuesday. More than 500 meters of the highway were submerged under meter-deep lahar. It took seven heavy vehicles to dredge the mud.

“We were really overwhelmed in trying to overcome the worst lava flooding since Mount Merapi stopped erupting.

We’re worried about subsequent lahar floods as the rainfall is still high on the slope of the mountain.” The lahar overflow on Monday evening was the most severe since the status of Merapi was downgraded from “stand-by” to” beware” at the end of December. “For the umpteenth time, we warned the people against lahar floods, a secondary threat after the volcano’s eruption. If the rainfall reaches 20 millimeters per hour, as what happened on Monday night, the lahar will overflow into villages and roads.” Lahar can move down the slope of the volcano at a speed of more than 60 miles per hour (97 kmh) and kill anyone or damage anything in its path. “We should not underestimate the lahar floods, and we urge people not to see the flow from a close range.” The lahar flood destroyed six bridges and a police office in Cangkringan subdistrict. “Our suffering was not really finished with the end to the volcano’s eruption. We do not know when the disaster will end.” “In a very short time, our office was destroyed by the heavy flow of lahar. We could only save computer units, typewriters and other office equipment, but some records are still being tracked. All members of the police and the detainee could be evacuated. No injuries reported.”

Alert declared following volcanic eruptions in Papua New Guinea – A level three alert has been declared following a series of eruptions of the Manam volcano in Madang Province in Papua New Guinea. The Rabaul Volcanic Observatory has issued the alert following a series of eruptions on Christmas Day which increased in magnitude over the next five days.

The alert warns people not to climb to higher gardens or walk into or across valleys because of possible lava flow. The eruptions frightened over 1000 villagers who are demanding to be evacuated but government officials have gone to the island to provide assurance to them. There appears to be no immediate danger providing precautions are followed.

2010: Volcanic Year in Review – It was a busy year, both for the usual suspects and some volcanoes that erupted seemingly out of the blue.

4 of Colombia’s volcanoes on yellow alert – Colombia’s Mount Machin and the snow-capped volcanoes Galeras, Huila, and Ruiz have been put on yellow alert after elevated activity. Authorities recorded small earthquakes in the Tomila district late last week. The most significant of these was a earthquake that measured 2.3 on the Richter scale and occurred at 5:22 pm on January 1, 2011. The earthquake was felt by residents of Cajamarca, near the Mount Machin. Geologists noted that seismic events of this type are frequent in the area and people should not worry.

When Mount Machin was on yellow alert in 2010, Ingeominas, Colombia’s Geological and Mineral institute, said that due to its chemical composition, the magnitude of its eruptions and extensive deposits to feed those eruptions, Machin has a high propensity to affect widespread damage on the Andean nation. A yellow alert is an advisory that the “volcano is exhibiting signs of elevated unrest above known background level or, after a change from a higher level, volcanic activity has decreased significantly but continues to be closely monitored for possible renewed increase.” There are four levels of alert, green, yellow, orange, and red.

A cyclone warning has been issued for regions of Western Australia as a tropical low pressure system moves toward the coast. The tropical low is moving parallel to the Pilbara coast at a speed of 31 kilometers (19 miles) an hour and may develop into a cyclone later today. The system is unlikely to cause flooding in the Pilbara region due to its speed and likely location offshore. Apache Corp. and Woodside Petroleum Ltd. halted oil field production off Western Australia because of the storm and Port Hedland, 1,300 kilometers north of Perth and the world’s largest bulk export terminal, has suspended movements of inbound shipping. The cyclone warning in Western Australia comes as heavy rain and flooding on the other side of the country shut down mines in Queensland state.

11 storms hit Philippines in 2010 – Even with the extreme weather disturbances associated with La Niña, the country was still relatively spared from horrendous destructions brought on by tropical storms as compared to 2009. Back-to-back onslaughts by Ondoy (international codename: Ketsana) and Pepeng (international codename: Parma) in 2009 left billions of pesos’ worth of damage to crops, infrastructure and property. The twin storms also killed a thousand people and rendered hundreds of citizens homeless. The delayed start of the rainy season in the Philippines due to the El Niño phenomenon has also trimmed down the number of tropical cyclones. Only 11 storms visited the country in 2010, six of which failed to make landfall. “Although some storms were not able to enter the country, they were able to enhance the southwest monsoon (prevailing at that time) and bring rains. In the Philippines, many of our areas are flood prone. It (flood) is always a perennial problem for us.” Only two storms registered substantial effects. These were typhoons Basyang (international codename: Conson) and Juan (international codename: Megi), which hit the country in July and October, respectively. Aside from directly hitting Metro Manila and triggering Luzon-wide blackouts, Basyang’s three-day (July 12-15) blitz caused widespread flooding in the nation’s capital, Southern and Central Luzon, and parts of the Visayas and Mindanao. The storm killed 102 people while 91 are injured and 46 are still missing. Total damage to infrastructure and agriculture reached P377.83 million, with rice and high value crop-generating areas in Luzon bearing the brunt of the typhoon. Typhoon Juan, on the other hand, nearly flattened villages in the eastern seaboard of Isabela as it affected more than two million people in Luzon and left 31 dead, 42 injured and four missing. Damage was pegged at P12.03 billion, with agricultural production incurring heavy devastation, most especially rice and corn (P9.29 billion). With media calling it a “super typhoon,” Juan’s strength was compared to that of Typhoon Reming (international codename: Durian), which killed over a thousand people in the Bicol region and Southern Luzon in late 2006. Juan was also the world’s strongest storm this year, packing maximum sustained winds of 225 kilometers per hour near the center.

Although it has yet to come up with an estimate number of storms for 2011, Pagasa keeps itself busy in fast-tracking the rehabilitation of radar stations, as well as strengthening its partnership with the private sector. Additional automatic weather stations and rainfall monitoring equipment will be installed nationwide. By the end of the year, the country will have seven Doppler radars in place.

Authorities maintained a warning in Western Australia state for a potential tropical cyclone as the low pressure system moves away from coastal regions. The tropical low, which may develop into a cyclone today, “is not expected to affect the mainland” at it moves west at 26 kilometers an hour (16 miles per hour). While strong winds are forecast for coastal waters, the bureau said gales are no longer predicted.

PHILIPPINES braced for the effects of the La Niña phenomenon, and beyond-normal rainfall conditions have already been recorded in different parts of the country. La Niña is expected to continue at least into the March-April-May (MAM) 2011 season. The Governor declared a state of emergency Thursday following torrential rain, which caused landslides and flooding. The affected towns are Malilipot, Sto. Domingo, Bacacay, Manito and Jovellar. The high water forced the evacuation of more than 3,500 residents from the region. At least one woman died and her son missing as a result of the inclement weather. The extreme weather was caused by an Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ), a dangerous and difficult to predict weather pattern. To make matters worse for the battered Bicol region, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology recorded Thursday eight volcanic earthquakes near Bulusan Volcano. Alert Level 1 remains over the area.

Tornadoes kill seven in south and mid-western US – A series of tornadoes in the south and mid-western US has killed seven people, injured several others and caused power failures for thousands in the region. Three residents of the small town of Cincinnati in Arkansas were killed early on Friday. Tornadoes were later blamed for the deaths of three people in southern Missouri. And a woman seriously hurt on Friday near the south-east Missouri town of Rolla died in hospital on Saturday. Several other people in Arkansas and Missouri were injured.

The tornado in Cincinnati caused damage near a local highway in the town’s centre and points west of Washington County in Arkansas. The tornado hit the town, located about 20 miles (32km) west of the city of Fayetteville, around 0610 local time (1210GMT) on Friday. Emergency responders were experiencing difficulties early on Friday in reaching damaged areas in the region because of power lines that had been knocked down. A combination of warm, wet air in the region and colder air moving in from the west created the conditions necessary for the tornado. “Anytime you have a significant change in air mass there is going to be unsettled weather marking the two different air masses.” The deaths in Cincinnati and Missouri pushed this year’s count of tornado-related fatalities in the US to 42.

ARKANSAS – A tornado fuelled by an UNUSUALLY WARM winter air sliced through parts of northwestern Arkansas early on New Year’s Eve, killing three people, injuring several others and knocking out power to thousands of homes and businesses.

The region has been bracing for severe weather for much of the week. Gulf moisture riding southerly winds pushed temperatures into the upper 60s and 70s Thursday – ahead of a cold front expected to drop temperatures into the teens by Saturday morning. The same storm system caused damage in nearby Tontitown, but emergency responders had trouble reaching the damaged areas because of downed power lines.

Later, in south-central Missouri, baseball-sized hail was reported north of Mansfield in Wright County. “In the winter you don’t always have the instability” that would allow tornadoes to develop. “This time, we have the instability.” The tornado fatalities are the first in the nation since September 16, when a woman hit a falling tree while driving in Queens, New York, and a man was killed in his home at Belleville, West Virginia.

After a week of extreme weather in the U.S. – rain and mudslides in the West, blizzard conditions in the East – it seemed the only thing missing was a tornado. Friday there were at least 20. Six people were known dead. From Arkansas to Missouri to Illinois, the funnel clouds came out of nowhere in THE WORST OUTBREAK OF TWISTERS ON A NEW YEAR’S EVE IN 50 YEARS. Tornadoes are EXTREMELY RARE this time of year, but those that do occur are often deadlier because they move faster in the cold air, leaving less time for warnings.

WEIRD Weather Hit Much of the Country – Blizzard warnings were in effect for parts of Wyoming, Nebraska, Minnesota and the eastern Dakotas. On the Las Vegas strip, people preparing to party were shivering from the cold. In Arizona, RARE snow flurries dusted the desert around Phoenix, a RARE blizzard dumped a foot of snow on higher elevations and shut down Interstate 17 Thursday overnight. The Denver area received about half a foot of snow overnight. Blowing snow in North Dakota led to a massive pile-up Thursday along Interstate 94 west of Fargo. The chain reaction accident involved up to 100 cars and trucks.

EGYPT – Floodwaters caused by torrential rains swept a bus packed with 77 schoolgirls and their teachers off a highway in the country’s south, killing 15 people. Poorly equipped rescue workers and local residents struggled to save those on board the bus, which overturned late on Wednesday in a deep trench created by strong flood currents along the highway leading to the city of Minya, 200km south of the capital Cairo. The dead included an ambulance driver who had rescued 20 of those on board the bus before the floods swept him away and he also drowned. Survivors recounted that the bus driver had stopped to have a closer look at the surrounding terrain, inundated with torrential rains and flooding, when the water suddenly swept them away. Egypt’s southern region, where village houses are built of mud bricks and the roads are poorly maintained, was heavily affected during the rains and bad winter weather earlier this week

AUSTRALIA – flood zone bigger than France and Germany combined (and bigger than the state of Texas). More than 200,000 people have been affected by relentless flooding in northeast Australia, with the flood zone now stretching over an area bigger than France and Germany combined. Thousands of homes and businesses across Queensland state have been inundated with water after days of pounding rain caused swollen rivers to overflow. The entire population of two towns was forced to evacuate as water swamped their communities, cutting off roads and devastating crops. Heavy rains and flooding in northeast Australia is common during the southern hemisphere summer, but the scope of the damage from the recent downpours is EXTREMELY UNUSUAL. “We now have 22 towns or cities that are either substantially flooded or isolated because the roads have been cut off to them.

AUSTRALIA – Dozens of moviegoers have been injured after the roof of a cinema complex in central western New South Wales collapsed. Heavy rains caused the false ceiling at The Metro Cinema at Bathurst to collapse at 12.45pm (AEDT) today. Thirty-six people were initially trapped when the roof collapsed, with emergency services using thermal imaging cameras to find them in the rubble. A worker in a neighbouring shop said he couldn’t hear the ceiling collapse because it was raining so heavily at the time. “You could barely hear anything due to the large amount of rain coming down.” There was enough rain in 10 to 20 minutes to collapse the roof. Paramedics were treating those at the scene as they emerged, but said they had only minor injuries.

Floodwaters in the Australian city of Rockhampton are rising faster than expected, Queensland authorities say. The city has already been badly hit, with many people being forced to flee. More than 20 towns have already been cut off or flooded across an area larger than France and Germany, with more than 200,000 people affected. Earlier, a woman swept from the road in her car has become the first victim of the widespread flooding, and at least two others are reported missing. While waters are receding in some areas, in Rockhampton – a city of 77,000 – they have yet to reach their peak. Floodwaters are expected to reach nine metres (30 feet) on Monday and peak at 9.4 metres on Wednesday, threatening as many as 4,000 homes. There are fears that damage from the floods could cost billions of Australian dollars to repair. Rockhampton’s airport, a major regional hub, was closed to commercial traffic due to flooded runways, while many main roads and railways into the town had been cut off, and power supplies were disrupted. The city could be isolated for up to 10 days. “These waters are exceptionally fast, they’re not to be trifled with and they’re not to be taken lightly.”

Meanwhile, the weather bureau has warned Queensland residents of another severe storm, which is forecast to bring “damaging winds, very heavy rainfall, flash flooding and large hailstones”. One Rockhampton resident said there had been panic-buying in the city. About 40% of the city could be affected, and the floods swept snakes downstream. “Snakes have been swimming at people’s feet as they make their way through the waters. I know one guy who killed four snakes this morning, one of which was a Taipan – the more it bites, the more it injects venom that could easily kill.” Officials have warned that the mining, farming and tourism industries will all suffer.

Recovery efforts are beginning in some areas where flooding has subsided, including the severely affected towns of Emerald and Bundaberg. Residents are preparing to return home, though the towns of Theodore and Condamine, which were completely evacuated, remain empty. In some areas, helicopters have been used to deliver supplies and food to cut-off householders. (photos & map)

AUSTRALIA – Floodwaters in Queensland are inching towards New South Wales, with authorities warning small communities south of the border to prepare for the deluge. About 400 people in the towns of Goodooga, Weilmoringle and Angledool are facing the possibility of isolation when flood peaks flow into state’s north later this month. No homes are under threat but roads are expected to be cut, leaving residents stranded in a handful of communities and surrounding rural properties. The weather bureau is predicting moderate to major flooding on the Culgoa, Bokhara, Birrie and Narran Rivers, swamping the region for four to six weeks. The Bokhara River at Goodooga is expected to reach 4.2 metres on January 21, while the Culgoa River at Weilmoringle is likely to peak at almost 6 metres on January 23. “It’s weeks away but these are very slow rising floods … which means roads can be cut a week or more ahead of the flood peak and a week or more after. It’s not out of the ordinary, these are decent sized floods but they are not exceptionally large like those in Queensland which are floods of record.” Queensland’s flood crisis has inundated or isolated more than 20 towns and cities, with more than 200,000 people affected.

Australia flood death toll rises; rains cause more havoc – Floodwaters in Australia’s Queensland state created havoc in at least 22 cities and towns throughout the region grappling with several weeks of devastating rains. At least three people have been killed in the flooding since Saturday, and Queensland officials said as many as 10 have died in weather-related incidents beginning in late November. About 200,000 people have been affected by the flooding, with many leaving their homes and seeking rest and food at relief centers. Spillover from Fairbairn Dam, the second-largest catchment area in Australia, was causing evacuations and other problems in several towns. Floodwaters cut off towns and submerge buildings in Queensland state. “Rockhampton is now completely stranded — a town of 75,000 people, no airport, rail or road.” Although waters have begun to recede in some areas, others are looking at a week in which the situation could get considerably worse. Forecasters warned of more rain.

AUSTRALIA – Flood-hit Queensland braced for fresh storms. More heavy rain is forecast for eastern Australia, threatening flash floods for communities where hundreds of homes are already under water. Forecasters predict central and southern Queensland will be worst hit by the latest deluge which will last into the weekend. In the city of Rockhampton about 500 homes were evacuated as the Fitzroy river peaked at 9.2m (30ft). The town of St George is braced for the Balonne river to peak by Sunday.

About 1,200 homes across Queensland have been inundated since heavy rains set in last month, with another 10,700 suffering some damage. The latest rain will fall in the Wide Bay-Burnett region, affecting Rockhampton and the city of Bundaberg, which has also already suffered severe flooding. “We’re watching the rain patterns very, very carefully.” The latest storm has delayed the return of the 150 residents of the community of Condamine in south-west Queensland, who were airlifted to safety a week ago when the local river flooded.

The town has no electricity or running water, and the schools and churches are also flooded. Even in parts of Queensland which are beginning to dry out, an influx of snakes is making it dangerous for people to return to their flooded homes. Saltwater crocodiles are posing another hazard. Rockhampton’s Mayor said it could take a year for the city to recover. The flooding was unprecedented and has now directly affected 40 communities. Floods that have closed dozens of mines, railways and ports will send coal and steel prices soaring. Queensland produces about half the world’s coking coal used to make steel. “Seventy-five percent of our mines are currently not operating because of this flood, so that’s a massive impact on the international markets and the international manufacture of steel.”

The flood-stricken coal industry is facing lengthy disruptions, with one miner saying it could take weeks to drain its pits of water and the biggest coking coal port warning there was a risk its stocks could run out.

2010 WRAP-UP –

Earth’s atmosphere showed a mean streak in 2010, and there may be more to come. Along the East Coast of the United States, buried under the avalanche of this week’s blizzard in New York City, are the memories of “Snowmageddon” — the big Nor’easter that in the first week of last February dumped RECORD snowfalls on major cities in the Mid-Atlantic region, from Wilmington to Washington. In Spring, great downpours of rain brought floods across the Southeast, including Oklahoma and Arkansas, but especially Tennessee, where 33 people died and damages were estimated at nearly $2 billion in Nashville alone.

And then came summer, with heat-waves across much of the Northern Hemisphere. Nineteen nations recorded new RECORD high temperatures — including a reading of 128.3 degrees F in Pakistan, the hottest ever in Asia. Russia suffered through its hottest year in 1,000 years of history. In Moscow, at least 10,000 people died from the heat. The wheat crop was heavily damaged and wildfires spread across the country. In the United States, intense heat spread from Maine to Pennsylvania in July and across the Southeast in August. In the Southwest, continuing drought shrank Lake Mead, the enormous impoundment behind Hoover Dam that waters much of the region, to a fraction of its former self. In Pakistan, monsoonal rains brought floods of staggering proportion, destroying bridges and roads and dams, and leaving thousands dead and millions homeless.

The year’s wild, dangerous weather is leading many climate scientists to see a pattern. They are beginning to wonder whether the climate system is showing signs of instability brought about by its changing chemical composition, by the added heat and water vapor, and by changing circulation patterns prompted by the loss of Arctic sea ice. A pattern of more frequent weather extremes is a feature that is common to most global model simulations of the future in our changing climate. If they are right, of course, 2010 could mark the early stages of a longer trend of more frequent dangerous weather. As the New Year approached, thousands of residents in Queensland, northeastern Australia, found themselves stranded by floodwaters. Queensland’s premier called it “a DISASTER ON AN UNPRECEDENTED SCALE,” which seemed to be a pretty good epithet for the year as a whole.

CALIFORNIA – Highlights of San Diego’s odd 2010 weather. –

JANUARY: “Probably influenced by El Nino, a strong polar jet developed over the Pacific and brought several storm systems to the coast with periods of strong wind, heavy rain, and mountain snow from the 18th to the 22nd. The barometric pressure reached an ALL-TIME RECORD LOW of 29.21 inches on the 20th at Lindbergh Field. Strong southerly winds allowed deep moisture to invade the deserts. Rainfall ranged from 2 to 8 inches in the deserts, 4 to 8 inches west of the mountains, and 6 to 12 inches on the coastal slopes. Snowfall of 40 to 60 inches was reported at the higher resorts with up to seven feet at the highest ski resorts … On the 19th, a tornado hit Costa Mesa and Newport Beach, and another hit Laguna Beach, both causing local property damage. Winds were measured above 90 mph in Newport Harbor that day.”

MARCH: “An extensive low pressure trough stretching along the West Coast of North American guided several weak-to-moderate storm systems through the region during the first 10 days of the month. This was replaced by a high pressure ridge around mid-month which brought an extended period of dry and warmer-than-normal weather until the final days of the month when a cold trough pushed in from the northwest. Despite the moist start, March came up decidedly dry, continuing the trend of dry Marches in recent years.”

APRIL: “A broad area of low pressure in the upper atmosphere dominated the weather through much of April, bringing above average precipitation (rainfall and snowfall) and below average temperatures to Southern California.”

MAY: “The cool spring conditions continued with average monthly temperatures generally between 2 and 4 degrees below normal. On the 23rd, a very cold, late season storm slid through Southern California accompanied by thunderstorms, RECORD COLDd, and moderate rain and snow showers. Up to 5 inches of snow piled up at higher elevations. After this storm, the rainfall season came to an abrupt end.”

JUNE: During the second week, a large trough developed bringing cooling, and a deeper marine layer with periods of drizzle west of the mountains. The cool spring conditions continued with average monthly temperatures generally between 2 and 4 degrees below normal.”

JULY: “A broad and persistent upper-level trough dominated the weather during the month, keeping temperatures well below the seasonal average. West of the mountains a deep marine layer dripped some light rain and drizzle from time to time. The trough retrograded west as high pressure built over the interior of the U.S. during the second week, bringing fleeting warm weather and our first surges of monsoonal moisture. Low pressure quickly redeveloped just off the coast again and persisted through the end of the month, allow a deep moist marine layer to keep it cool, and even produce some drizzle and measurable light rain. “Numerous LOW MAXIMUM DAILY RECORDS WERE SET throughout the month. The all-time record low maximum for San Diego for July was tied on the 8th with 64 degrees.”

AUGUST: “For month of the mont, temperatures were 4-5 degrees below normal along the San Diego County coast due to a strong cool sea breeze. The seasonally strong subtropical high did make a move north and west during the third week, setting an easterly monsoonal flow of moist and unstable air … The moist and unstable monsoonal flow was quickly snuffed out by a strong low pressure trough during the final week. August continued trend observed much of the summer.”.

SEPTEMBER: “High pressure aloft and offshore flow developed bringing the hottest weather of the year west of the mountains the day after summer ended. Many RECORD HIGH TEMPERATURES were reached on the 26th and 27th. Some of the highest all-time temperatures were reached on the 27th, like the 113 degrees at downtown Los Angeles. All significant rain for the month fell with a storm on the 30th.

OCTOBER: It was a wet month. In fact, it was the 4th wettest on record in San Diego. In the beginning of the month, a low pressure trough pumped moist and unstable air into Southern California and produced several rounds of showers and thunderstorms. Most of the storms were concentrated in the mountains and deserts and were fast-moving. Some of these storms were considered by long-time residents in the high desert as THE MOST INTENSE EVER EXPERIENCED. Local flooding resulted. By mid-month, a second vigorous storm system came through the region. Some rain fell west of the mountains almost every day from the 15th through the 25th before the atmosphere finally dried out with a brief episode of Santa Ana winds.”

NOVEMBER: “During the first week, high pressure aloft caused RECORD-BREAKING HEAT, and in San Diego it produced the HOTTEST NOVEMBER DAY IN HISTORY on the 4th with a reading of 100 degrees. It was actually hotter at the coast than it was inland.

DECEMBER: “The first half of the month was dry with weak high pressure dominating our weather. Then a strong subtropical jet stream from the central Pacific sent a long fetch of moisture into California for a week. From the 17th to the 23rd more than 28 inches of rain fell in Lytle Creek and Crestline, 6” to 12” in Orange County and most valleys, over 8” in parts of the high desert, almost 5” in San Diego. Numerous RAINFALL RECORDS WERE BROKEN. It was the wettest week since January 2005. A final quick storm hit on the 29th, which brought DECEMBER RAINFALL TOTALS AMONG THE GREATEST ON RECORD for many locations.”

NEW JERSEY – Blizzard capped a year of extreme weather in New Jersey. The Christmas weekend blizzard that dumped an average 15 inches of snow in Morris County seems a fitting end to what has been a year of weather extremes in New Jersey. Between a particularly snowy winter, a wet spring and a hot, dry summer, 2010 was a RECORD-BREAKER. “This was a year of extremes, unlike anything we’ve seen in recent years.”

The winter was the third wettest on record since the state began keeping records in 1895. Morris County was hit by nine snowstorms in 2010, including a string of three in February. In Morristown, 32.4 inches of snow fell that month, well above the 8.7 inches average snowfall in a typical February. But the winter pummeling alone wasn’t enough- just a month later, much of the state was deluged with heavy rains. A nor’easter in March that lasted several days brought 5 to 8 inches of rain in Morris, knocking out power to thousands and forcing hundreds of flood-prone Pequannock and Lincoln residents along the Passaic, Pequannock and Rockaway rivers out of their homes.

The wet season was followed by a summer of dry heat – with the HOTTEST APRIL AND JUNE ON RECORD. The summer was THE DRIEST SINCE 1966. June and July saw 2.47 inches and 2.87 inches of rainfall, respectively. The average monthly rainfall is 4 inches. What probably prevented it from being the driest on record was a wet August that helped saturate the ground and fill up reservoirs. Despite the extremes, annual precipitation averaged 42.27 inches statewide, or slightly more than 1 inch below the long-term mean.

The Haiti earthquake and floods in Pakistan and China helped make 2010 an EXCEPTIONAL YEAR FOR NATURAL DISASTERS, killing 295,000 and costing $130 billion, the world’s top reinsurer says. “The high number of weather-related natural catastrophes and RECORD TEMPERATURES both globally and in different regions of the world provide further indications of advancing climate change,” said Munich Re.

The last time so many people died in natural disasters was in 1983, when 300,000 people died, mainly due to famine in Ethiopia. A total of 950 natural disasters were recorded last year, making 2010 the second worst year since 1980. The average number of events over the past 10 years was 785. In terms of economic cost, insured losses amounted to approximately $37 billion, putting 2010 among the six most loss-intensive years for the insurance industry since 1980. “2010 showed the major risks we have to cope with. There were a number of severe earthquakes. The hurricane season was also eventful.”

The earthquake in Haiti in January was by far the worst disaster in terms of human cost, killing 222,570 people. 56,000 died in a combination of heatwaves and forest fires in Russia. The other most destructive events were an earthquake in China in April that killed 2,700, floods in Pakistan between July and September that cost 1,760 lives and August floods in China in which 1,470 perished. Although the Haiti earthquake resulted in human devastation on a “staggering scale”, it cost the industry very little as very few people in the poverty-stricken country can afford insurance. However, an earthquake in Chile that hit over a month later was the world’s most expensive natural disaster last year, with overall losses of 30 billion dollars and insured losses of eight billion dollars. The second most expensive disaster for the insurance industry was a series of earthquakes that rattled New Zealand, which cost an estimated 3.3 billion dollars but caused no deaths.

The global distribution of natural catastrophes in 2010 was however “comparable to that of previous years.” The American continent suffered the most disasters with 365, while Asia was second with 310. A total of 120 natural disasters were recorded in Europe, 90 in Africa and 65 in Australia and Oceania. In 2009, considered a “benign” year due to the absence of major catastrophes and a less severe than usual hurricane season in the North Atlantic, there were 900 “destructive natural hazard events”, costing some 60 billion dollars. Around 11,000 people lost their lives in natural disasters in 2009, well below the average of 77,000. Man-made and natural disasters generated worldwide economic losses of 222 billion dollars in 2010, more than three times the figure for 2009.

Global food prices rose to RECORD LEVELS in December, driven up by big increases in sugar, cereal and fuel. The Food Price Index went above the previous record of 2008 that saw prices spark riots in several countries, iincluding Cameroon, Haiti and Egypt.

There were further riots over food prices in Mozambique in September last year. “The situation is very tight. If we have more natural disasters, we could have a problem.”

However, despite high prices, many of the factors that triggered food riots in 2007 and 2008 – such as weak production in poor countries – were not currently present, reducing the risk of more turmoil. But “unpredictable weather” means that grain prices could go much higher, which is “a concern”. The current spike in prices is being caused primarily by increases in the cost of sugar and, more importantly, cereals. The price of wheat in particular has risen sharply. This is because wildfires last year in Russia, which accounts for 11% of global exports, resulted in an export ban. The recent floods in Australia, which also accounts for 11% of global exports, has compounded the problem.

The price of corn has also risen, because of greater support for biofuels in the US and the increased price of oil, which makes biofuels more attractive. Droughts in Argentina, the world’s second biggest exporter of corn behind the US, have also pushed the price up. Overall global food prices have risen by an average of more than 80% in the past 10 years. “Rising food prices will have an effect almost all over the world but especially in poor countries where food and energy are the major things people spend their money on. There’s a risk, I wouldn’t say a huge risk, but some risk of higher energy prices and higher food prices being very destabilising in some countries. We saw that in 2008 and in Mozambique last year and it’s something to watch.”

The news came amid concerns about inflation in the prices of other key commodities. Copper prices went into 2011 at RECORD HIGHS – in a rally driven by increased demand from the global economic recovery and that fact that most countries are holding low stockpiles. And the International Energy Agency said that the current high price of oil would threaten economic recovery in 2011. Oil import costs for countries in the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development had risen 30% in the past year to $790bn (£508bn). If oil returns above $100 a barrel this would be “particularly worrisome”. “And higher commodity prices could sap the world’s ability to consume because more and more of our income will be going on energy and food.”

FLORIDA – December’s cold – one for the RECORD books – may be done, but extreme weather is not over as the new year arrives. On Friday, northern Palm Beach County was ratcheted up to “severe” drought conditions. And the remainder of the county remains with a “moderate” drought rating. Firefighters battled brushfires in Jupiter, Palm Beach Gardens, Juno Beach, suburban West Palm Beach and Pahokee on Friday.

At the same time, the National Weather Service issued a coastal flood statement for Palm Beach County for overnight Friday, warning of a high risk of rip currents on area beaches. Persistent east-to-southeast winds of about 15 miles per hour create the risk. Rip currents are 10- to 30-yard channels of water which suck swimmers away from shore. On Friday, county lifeguards flew yellow warning flags and, in southern Palm Beach County, purple flags as well, warning of Portuguese man-o-war. “I bet we’ve had an abundance of man-of-war stings today.” Man-of-war – which are not jellyfish, although they are sometimes mistaken for them – are blue-colored invertebrates with long, stinging tentacles. Droves arrive on area shores when winds pick up. To the north, a lifeguard and training officer in Juno Beach reported an influx of another kind – all kinds, actually, of ocean creatures. ‘Everything that swims has been hugging the shoreline. Manatee, bottle-nosed dolphin, spinner sharks, snook, tarpon, grouper.”

ALASKA – Warm temperatures ring in Fairbanks for the New Year. A blizzard that’s been rolling up the western coast of Alaska brought RECORD-BREAKING HIGH TEMPERATURES to Fairbanks during the holiday weekend. Winds on the eastern edge of the storm pushed over the Alaska Range and north into the Interior. They warmed up as they moved down slope. “You can actually get pretty warm temperatures here, even in the dead of winter, if you get a good strong southerly flow coming over the Alaska Range.” After the COLDEST DECEMBER IN 30 YEARS, including a low of minus 40 on Christmas Eve day, the temperature soared to 41 degrees Fahrenheit at Fairbanks International Airport on Sunday morning. Wind gusts were clocked at 25 miles per hour in the hills. The warm weather was expected to hang around until today. The thaw created slick roads as moisture in the air deposited onto cold road surfaces and formed instantaneous frost. The warm spell melted a trivial amount of snow and canceled out the one inch of snow that fell on New Year’s Eve.

The cold weather in December was caused by a large blocking pattern that lasted for about three weeks. It prevented air from moving east to west and kept a high-pressure system fixed above the Interior. The average temperature last month was about 18 degrees below zero, 12 degrees colder than normal. That doesn’t mean January will be colder, or milder, than any other year. January is typically the coldest month of the year in Fairbanks. “We’re in a strong La Niña pattern, which generally speaking will cause colder- than-normal temperatures.”

2010: Warmest year ever in New England – With 2010 officially over, the numbers are in and it was a record breaking year in parts of New England. 2010 was THE WARMEST YEAR EVER for the region.

The average temperature in 2010 was 52.9 degrees Fahrenheit which is 2.5 degrees warmer than a normal year and beat the previous record warmest year of 1990 by 0.1 degree. Connecticut and Boston Logan International Airport had their warmest year on record in 2010. Providence, Rhode Island experienced the second warmest year ever with Worcester Mass reporting the 4th warmest year on record. This warmth came as we transitioned from an El Nino weather pattern to a La Nina pattern. That transition started late spring and continued through late summer. The pattern lead to a ridge of high pressure which provided plenty of sunshine and one of the warmest summers ever.

The temperatures weren’t the only UNUSUAL feature of 2010. There is not much left of the snow they had in 2010, in fact, the year itself brought significantly less snowfall than they normally have in certain parts of New England. Below average snowfall contributed to less than average precipitation for the year. “Where we should have been getting rain other people were getting rain, when it should have been cold here other people were getting slammed so it’s just totally different than the way it used to be.” So far in the first three days of 2011, high temperatures have been averaging 9 degrees above average.

JAPAN – Four men have been killed after an avalanche engulfed them on a ski slope in western Japan. The men were on patrol at a ski resort on Mount Daisen after an earlier avalanche. “They were checking the safety of skiers when a second avalanche occurred, sweeping them away. The area was hit by a snowstorm Friday and the weather agency warned of blizzards and violent winds around New Year in western and northern Japan. Nearly 80 domestic flights had been cancelled by late Friday.

India shivers in deadly cold snap – Indian-administered Kashmir has been hardest hit by the cold weather. An intense spell of cold weather has disrupted life across northern India, reportedly claiming two dozen lives. The capital, Delhi, has been badly hit by the cold snap, along with Indian-administered Kashmir, Haryana, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh. In Leh in Kashmir, temperatures dropped to -23.6C – this winter’s lowest – on Sunday. Delhi, which is EXPERIENCING ONE OF ITS COLDEST WINTERS IN YEARS, has been hit by thick fog which disrupted flights.

Sunday was Delhi’s coldest day this winter with temperatures dipping to 7.8C – cold by the standards of the Indian capital. Indian homes rarely have central heating. The cold wave is being felt most intensely in Kashmir with the summer capital, Srinagar, recording sub-zero temperatures. The highway linking Kashmir with the rest of India has been shut due to snowfall. Homeless people have taken to gathering around street fires to try to keep warm and the night shelters for the poor in Delhi are overflowing. Five more people – including a 70-year-old man and a two year-old boy – suffered cold-related deaths in Uttar Pradesh. Three more cold-related deaths were reported in Indian-administered Kashmir.

It was THE COLDEST DECEMBER IN THE UNITED KINGDOM SINCE NATIONWIDE RECORDS BEGAN 100 YEARS AGO. For central England, it was the second coldest December since 1659. However, the first analysis released of global temperatures shows 2010 was ONE OF THE WARMEST YEARS ON RECORD The UK’s harsh weather was caused by ANOMALOUSLY high air pressure that blocked mild westerly winds and brought cold air south from the Arctic.

The UK temperature averaged -1C, a long way below the previous coldest December, in 1981, which registered -0.1C. The December average for the century-long series is 4.2C. It was also the coldest calendar month since February 1986. “It’s been an exceptional month, there’s no question about that – it will go down in history as one to remember. Our records go back to 1910 and it’s certainly the coldest since then, so it’s the coldest December in 100 years.”

However, the month also turned out unusually sunny and dry. Less than half the expected amount of precipitation (snow and rain) fell, making it the third driest December in the national data series. And the country bathed in sunny conditions for nearly 40% longer than average. As a whole, 2010 was colder in the UK than in recent years – the 12th coldest year in the series, but also among the 10 driest and sunniest.

The sequence of UNUSUALLY COLD UK winter weather has raised the question of whether this is now the norm; but caution was urged in deducing patterns from what could just be natural variability. “Obviously there’s something going on given we’ve now had three in a row – but we’ve had three wet summers in a row as well, and it’s impossible to nail this and say ‘that’s because of this’ – it’s all part of variability.” It was not yet clear whether the 2010/11 winter would turn out to be unusually cold overall.

Earlier this week the University of Alabama at Huntsville in the US, which collates temperature data gathered by satellites, declared it to be the second warmest year since the satellite record began in 1979.

KOREA – Southeastern Korea saw the MOST SNOW IN 69 YEARS as a severe blizzard hit the region over a two-day period. The city of Pohang saw 28.7 centimeters of snow and some other parts of the region had over 50 centimeters since Monday. The cities of Busan and Ulsan were also hit by snow storms.

According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, the heavy snow fall is due to a cold front moving south coupled with ABNORMALLY HIGH OCEAN TEMPERATURES in the region. Due to the blizzard, a number of streets and highways were closed. But, the farming sector in the region appears to have suffered the most damage.

Some one thousand spinach greenhouses collapsed due to the heavy snow fall, ruining the season’s harvest. A blizzard along with freezing temperatures stranded some 50-thousand Chinese in Hunan Province. The cause behind the extreme weather is due to the La Nina phenomenon, characterized by unusually cold ocean temperatures in the eastern equatorial Pacific.

SUNSPOT ALERT: 2011 is beginning with a flurry of sunspots. Five dark cores have emerged on the Earth-side of the sun. So far, none of the new regions is producing strong solar flares.

A solar wind stream flowing from a coronal hole should reach Earth around Jan. 3rd – the first solar wind stream of the New Year. US Department of Defense polar-orbiting satellites are observing bright bands of auroral light circling the North Pole. “It shows the sinuous path of the energetic particles entering Earth’s upper atmosphere.” These sinuous bands could descend south over Europe and parts of North America around Jan. 3rd when the solar wind stream is expected to hit Earth’s magnetosphere. High-latitude sky watchers should be alert for auroras.

Shift of Earth’s magnetic north pole affects Tampa airport – Runway changes are needed to account for the moving magnetic pole, which is nearing Russia at 40 miles per year. Scientists say the magnetic north pole is moving toward Russia and the fallout has reached Tampa International Airport. The airport has closed its primary runway until Jan. 13 to repaint the numeric designators at each end and change taxiway signage to account for the shift in location of the Earth’s magnetic north pole.

The busiest runway will be re-designated 19R/1L on aviation charts. It’s been 18R/36L, indicating its alignment along the 180-degree approach from the north and the 360-degree approach from the south. Later this month, the airport’s east parallel runway and the seldom used east-west runway will be closed to change signage to their new designations. The Federal Aviation Administration required the runway designation change to account for what a National Geographic News report described as a gradual shift of the Earth’s magnetic pole at nearly 40 miles a year toward Russia because of magnetic changes in the core of the planet. [Some people are speculating that the bird and fish deaths are related to the magnetic changes.]

A state of emergency has been declared at a farm in Russia’s southern republic of Kalmykia over an anthrax outbreak, the regional emergencies department reported on Sunday. Anthrax was detected in the meat of a cow that had been culled on suspicion of the disease at the livestock farm in the Gorodovikovsky district of Kalmykia. Laboratory tests confirmed the presence of the anthrax virus, the emergencies department said. Overall, 512 head of livestock, 256 head of small cattle, 21 horses and 64 pigs have been vaccinated to contain the spread of the anthrax outbreak in the district, the emergencies department said. Anthrax most commonly infects wild mammals and domestic cattle and sheep, which ingest or inhale the spores while grazing. Humans can be affected when exposed to blood and other tissues from infected animals. Anthrax can be highly lethal, but in some forms it responds well to antibiotic treatment and there are effective vaccines against the disease.

A 7-year-old boy infected with the H1N1 virus has died marking Sweden’s first death linked to swine flu this season, a health official was quoted as saying Saturday. The boy was one of three patients being treated at different intensive-care units in the southern Swedish region of Scania for H1N1 and died Friday, said Per Hagstam of the Scania division of the Swedish Institute for Infectious Disease Control (SMI). “What (the three) had in common was that they all belonged to the risk group and had for instance other types of complicated illnessess,” Hagstam told the local daily Helsingborgs Dagblad. By Dec. 26, 65 people in Sweden were known to have contracted H1N1, which killed 30 Swedes during the last flu season, according to SMI. The World Health Organization declared the swine flu pandemic over in August, more than a year after the virus that emerged from Mexico sparked panic and killed thousands of people around the world before fizzling out.

About 1,000 black birds fell from the sky over Beebe on Friday night, the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission said in a news release Saturday. Around 11:30 p.m., the commission began receiving phone calls about the birds, most of which were dead and fell over a 1-mile span, the release said. Wildlife officer Robby King collected about 65 dead birds that will be sent to the Arkansas Livestock and Poultry Commission lab and the National Wildlife Health Center lab in Madison, Wis. Officers flew over the area and determined no birds had fallen outside that part of the city, the release said. Commission ornithologist Karen Rowe said in the release that the flock could have been hit by lightning or high-altitude hail. Or the birds could have died from stress if disturbed from their roost by fireworks celebrating the New Year. Beebe has hired the commission to dispose of the birds.

S. Korea reports another 5 cases of FMD

DAEJEON, Jan. 2 (Yonhap) — South Korea confirmed five additional foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) outbreaks at two beef cattle farms and a milk cattle farm in provincial areas on Sunday despite nationwide quarantine efforts to contain the spread of the highly contagious animal disease, provincial government officials said. The South Chungcheong provincial government said two milk cows at a farm in the central city of Cheonan, 92 kilometers south of Seoul, have tested positive for FMD. All 50 animals at the dairy farm have been ordered culled and buried to prevent the spread of FMD, the regional government said, with livestock within a 10km radius of the outbreak not to be moved as a precautionary measure.

Snakes pose added danger to rescue effort in Queensland’s flooded areas

EXTRA snakebite antivenom was airlifted into north Queensland yesterday. Authorities fear residents returning to previously flooded houses will face a plague of deadly reptiles. The snakebite danger was just one of the immediate and challenging health issues facing Queensland Health, which is coping with everything from contaminated water and sewage overflows to having to evacuate more than a dozen pregnant women and establish emergency clinics for stranded residents. State medical director for retrieval services Mark Elcock, who is co-ordinating helicopters and planes to relay patients from flood zones to major hospitals, said the situation posed a significant logistical challenge.

An Arkansas Game and Fish Commission spokesman says dead drum fish now cover a 20-mile section of the Arkansas River near Ozark. Seven teams from the state agency visited the affected portion of the river Friday. Commission spokesman Keith Stephens says an official estimate of how many fish have died is expected on Monday, but he tells the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette that the number is likely in the hundreds of thousands. The commission determined the fish died in the river from a dam near Ozark to a bridge along State Highway 109 near Clarksville. Stephens says some of the live drum fish were sick and will be sent to a lab at the University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff for testing. Drum fish are bottom feeders that eat other fish and insects.

Authorities in Zimbabwe on Monday confirmed an outbreak of cholera in Mbare, one of Harare’s oldest suburbs, with at least 20 households having reportedly been affected. The report comes amid fears that the disease may be spreading again across the poverty-stricken country. Portia Munangazira, a doctor and director in Zimbabwe’s Ministry of Health, told the German Press Agency dpa Monday that Harare was still struggling to eradicate the pandemic, which claimed over 4,000 lives and affected thousands more nationwide in 2008. ‘We leant a lot from the experience of 2008/2009, but we can’t stop it (cholera). We still have determinants of cholera,’ she said. She noted ongoing problems with water quality and lack of proper waste disposal. A particular problem is sewage flowing into wells for drinking water. Munangazira said it is certain that the sewage is carrying cholera. ‘We are worried that there is an outbreak both in urban and rural areas,’ she said. Residents in Mbare have told dpa that problems with the sewer system have resulted in raw sewage contaminating drinking water. Last year Zimbabwe recorded 14 deaths due to cholera.

Around 1,000 farms are being closed in the German state of Lower Saxony, the state agriculture ministry announced Monday, after high concentrations of dioxin were found in eggs and animal feed. The affected farms are thought to have purchased fat for animal feed that was contaminated with dioxin, the ministry said. The farm closures were a cautionary measure while tests were carried out. The closed farms raise egg-laying chicken, pigs and turkey. Saxony has more than 50,000 farms, the state agriculture ministry said. Reports of high concentration of dioxin in eggs and poultry have risen in the past week after the first anomalous findings were registered mid-December. Last week, up to double the permitted levels of dioxin were found in eggs and chickens in two farms in North Rhine-Westphalia. At one farm, 8,000 laying hens were culled after eating contaminated feed. The regional veterinarian estimated that around 120,000 contaminated eggs had reached the shops, but said several thousand were being returned. While it appeared that the dioxin entered Germany from a Dutch supplier, agriculture authorities in the affected states were investigating how the contaminated fat had reached the farms in the form of animal feed. North German animal feed manufacturer Harles & Jentzsch said a Dutch supplier had delivered contaminated fat, which in turn had emanated from a bio-diesel plant run by Petrotech AG in Germany. Petrotech AG produce the plant-based fatty acid as a by-product in the manufacture of bio-diesel from palm, soya and rapeseed oil. The corporation refused to comment.

Flu epidemic expected in Bulgaria in January – official

Bulgaria will be hit by a flu epidemic in January 2011, according to Professor Bogdan Petrounov, director of the National Centre of Infectious and Parasitic Diseases, as reported by Focus news agency on January 4 2011. According to Petrounov, there is currently an increase in recorded flu cases in the country. It is too early, however, to talk of an epidemic. In order for such to be declared by the medical authorities, the cases of infection must reach the benchmark of 200 for 10 000 people. At the moment they are at about 70 people for every 10 000. Bulgaria will be attacked by the now familiar and notorious Swine Flu or H1N1 virus, which will be accompanied by another virus, the so called Perth virus, identified for the first time in Perth, Australia.

Plague of snakes and crocodiles threaten flood-hit Australians

THE “Biblical” flood wreaking havoc in Australia has unleashed a plague of crocs, deadly snakes and spiders. Extra snakebite anti-venom has been airlifted into the city of Rockhampton, one of the worst-hit parts in the state of Queensland. Mayor Brad Carter, said: “Snakes have been swimming at people’s feet as they make their way in the water. “I know one guy killed four snakes this morning, one of which was a Taipan – the more it bites the more it injects venom that could kill.”

Further locust warning

Farmers in Victoria are being warned to expect more plague locusts. Australian plague locusts which hatched in spring are swarming in central and northern Victoria and have begun laying eggs. The Department of Primary Industries says they’ve received reports of more than 400 new egg beds, and there has been at least one confirmed hatching of a second generation of locusts. State locust controller John Balfour says most of the egg beds are concentrated in a band that stretches across the middle of the state. “That area does encompass a large number of horticultural properties and it also encompasses irrigated dairy properties with vulnerable pastures.” “There are certainly enterprises in that area that could be severely adversely affected.”

Third World farmers and the great rat plague

Fisheries officials are investigating the death of hundreds of snapper washed up on Coromandel Peninsula beaches. Beachgoers at Little Bay and Waikawau Bay found the fish – many with their eyes missing – dead on the sand yesterday. Aucklander James Hughes, who was visiting friends, said they were sitting around when children in their group ran towards them holding fish. “We said, ‘Where’d you get them?’ and they said they just started floating up to the beach.” Mr Hughes and others on the beach began walking towards the spot where the fish had washed up, and found many dead fish in the water too. “We spoke to boaties coming in and they said there was a carpet of them floating in the water.” A Department of Conservation official told Mr Hughes fish in the Coromandel area were starving because of weather conditions. “That’s just completely untrue. This was something deliberate and it’s just wrong,” Mr Hughes said. Ministry of Fisheries official Brendon Mikkelsen said the fish had been in the water for at least 12 hours and would be unsafe to eat. Last night, another ministry official said the matter was being investigated. It would be illegal to deliberately dump snapper, but there could be an innocent explanation, such as a net splitting.

Motorists stopped and gawked at hundreds of dead red-winged blackbirds on a highway in Pointe Coupee Parish, La., Monday, just days after residents of Beebe, Ark., saw more than 1,000 birds fall from the sky on New Year’s Eve. On Monday, state biologists were gathering up some of the approximately 500 blackbirds and starlings that lay dead along Louisiana Route 1 near Pointe Coupee Central High School for testing. The United States Geological Survey has noted 16 incidents in the past 30 years where more than 1,000 black birds have died at the same time, usually the result of tightly-packed flocks flying into bad weather. What’s more, more than 5 billion birds die of natural causes in the United States each year, so it is, in a way, unusual that Americans don’t witness more major bird kills. Yet the use of improved testing and a state of heightened concern on the parts of state ornithologists is a proper response, even if the two bird kills had not come so close together, experts say. “Birds can be really good indicators of environmental problems, so I’d hate to think that 5,000 would die and nobody would care,” says Greg Butcher, director of bird conservation at the National Audobon Society, in Washington. “It’s worth investigation to find out what happened because there is potentially something we should worry about and it’s potentially something that has an odd, but benign cause.” Americans have theorized that everything from fallout from secret government weapons testing to UFO collisions downed the birds in Arkansas. But the newly-discovered bird rain in Louisiana is likely to focus more serious attention to the plight of blackbirds now bundled in winter flocks that can number over 100,000 birds. Postmortem tests of birds in the Arkansas incident showed evidence of blunt force trauma to many of the victims, which Mr. Butcher says means that it’s likely the birds were spooked by New Year’s Eve fireworks and may, in mass confusion, have run into cars and houses. Since blackbirds are considered a nuisance by farmers, the mass death in Louisiana could be attributable to a legal pest control effort. Pest control experts kill blackbird roosts in several ways, including spraying water on birds to induce hypothermia or by using legal poisons. Most such poisons work quickly, but a botched control attempt could mean that birds may have flown away from the roost and died nearby.

Woman reports dozens of dead birds in her yard (KY.)

GILBERTSVILLE, Ky. — Near her car, a dead bird. A quick walk to her mailbox, another. Scattered across her front yard, a local woman discovered dozens of dead birds. “I’ve never seen anything like it. Never,” Sandy said of the discovery. Sandy, who asked we not share her last name, first noticed the birds several days ago but cleaned them up, not thinking twice. “I have outdoor pets and just assumed they were bringing them from around the neighborhood.” But when she noticed more birds Monday morning, she panicked, “I had just seen the story on the news about the birds in Arkansas and I was scared.” In fact, 3,000 blackbirds seemed to fall from the sky there- starting last Friday. Autopsies have since ruled out poisoning. One top biologist from Cornell University said the birds were “….probably asleep in a single tree when a washing machine-type thunderstorm sucked them up into the air, disoriented them, and even fatally soaked and chilled them.”

Hundreds of snapper wash up on beaches

Hundreds of dead snapper have washed up on Coromandel beaches, leaving holidaymakers perplexed. People at Little Bay and Waikawau Bay, on the north-east of the peninsula, were stunned when children came out of the sea with armfuls of the fish and within minutes the shore was littered with them. Charlotte Pearsall, whose family have lived at Little Bay for the last 30 years, said she had never seen anything like it. ”It was so surreal,” she said. ”It’s such an incredible waste – it could’ve fed the whole northern tip of the Coromandel.” People with binoculars said the snapper stretched as far as they could see and boaties reported ”a carpet of floating fish further out to sea all along the coast”.

Hundreds more birds found dead, this time in Louisiana

Three days after thousands of blackbirds were found dead in Arkansas, some 500 red-winged-blackbirds and starlings were found dead along a quarter-mile stretch of highway in Louisiana, hundreds of miles to the south. The Associated Press reports that the latest dead birds were found Monday near Labarre, about 300 miles south of Beebe, Ark., where thousands of birds fell from the sky on New Year’s Eve. State biologists are sending some of the Louisiana birds for testing in Georgia and Wisconsin. Preliminary necropsies on the dead birds in Arkansas “showed trauma,” said Karen Rowe, Arkansas Game and Fish Commission ornithologist. “The birds obviously hit something very hard and had hemorrhages.” Beyond that, all the birds were healthy.

‘Very large’ fish kill reported in bay

State officials say they are investigating a “very large” fish kill in the Chesapeake Bay, but suspect cold temperatures killed them, rather than any water-quality problems. An estimated 2 million fish have been reported dead from the Bay Bridge south to Tangier Sound, according to the Maryland Department of the Environment, which investigates fish kills. The dead fish are primarily adult spot, with some juvenile croakers.

Three people have died, 14 in critical condition as deadly flu spreads mainly through central Israel. Hospitals were swamped Wednesday morning with patients seeking treatment for the swine flu, which hit Israel for the second sequential winter. The Health Ministry announced Wednesday morning that 14 people had been hospitalized in critical condition, among them six children. Three people have already died from the flu this year, including a 15-year old boy who appeared healthy but succumbed to the disease within a single day. Idan Levy’s death was said to have sparked a panic, and Ichilov Hospital in Tel Aviv bore the brunt of it late Tuesday night. Patients arrived in droves, carrying children displaying flu symptoms, and many found themselves waiting for a spare bed for up to four hours. Central Israel was hit hardest this year, according to the ministry’s data, with 3,043 people seeking treatment, while Jerusalem was least affected, with just 457 people seeking medical assistance. More than 8,000 people altogether have had symptoms, the ministry said.

Thousands of dead fish are floating in Volusia County Tuesday. They were all in Spruce Creek in Port Orange. The fish kill is unusual, according to people who live along the creek, because it’s warm. It’s been a week since there were freezing temperatures, but there are fish lining the banks. Some said it’s the worst kill they’ve ever seen; thousands of fish lined the twists and turns of Spruce Creek. The sheer number of fish and the smell were both overwhelming. “It was fun last night trying to sleep with the smell going on,” said resident Sunny Morningstar. “Even with your windows closed and everything?” WFTV reporter Jason Allen asked. “Yes, yes,” Morningstar said. Buzzards and pelicans flocked to the site Tuesday and swarmed above the water. They filled trees and private boat docks and waited at the water’s edge for an easy meal. Kayakers on the creek told WFTV, that during their five-hour paddle, they’d seen fish around every bend and it appeared to be one of the most extensive kills they had seen. “This looks a little worse than last year, at least this area. I don’t remember this being that populated as it is this time,” resident Mike Kovach said. The Fish and Wildlife Commission was aware of the kill. A representative said it started last week. The representative blamed last week’s cold temperatures and speculated the kill wasn’t growing, but that winds were causing fish to just pile up. Most of the fish were mullet, ladyfish and catfish, and not the valuable sporting fish called snook that died in mass during a cold spell last year. Residents told WFTV the fish kill is big enough that it’s attracting brown and white pelicans from the beach, which are birds they rarely see this far inland.

Floods unleash plagues

Australia Residents fled their homes and sandbagged properties yesterday as a major town was threatened by a flood disaster, which unleashed a plague of snakes and crocodiles. Tens of thousands of people in Rockhampton braced themselves for complete isolation as waters that have inundated an area bigger than France and Germany, and closed the town’s airport and railway, lapped at the last remaining road link. Tales of crocodile sightings swept the besieged cattle-farming centre northeast of Brisbane, with a population of 75000, while snakes up to 2m long were spotted around the town centre. The snakes, including highly venomous taipans, brown snakes and red-bellied blacks, were climbing trees and hiding in people’s houses as they searched for dry refuge, residents said.

Threat of mouse plague in SA

Farmers in South Australia are reminded to take extra precautions this year to control mice and reduce the threat of another plague. Greg Mutze from Biosecurity SA says mice numbers could explode again this year due to later rains, poor harvest conditions and summer weeds providing food for the pests. He says last year’s high mouse numbers through most cereal growing areas in SA could be seen again. “Quite a number of people are reporting that we are seeing more mice around than usual so it’s likely that they’ve got a higher starting population going into the cropping cycle that we are currently in and the build up towards next autumn and winter is starting off form a slightly higher base level and so that also increases the risk.”

3 children dead, over 30 sickened as measles outbreak hits flooded S. Philippines

DAVAO CITY, Philippines, Jan. 5 (Xinhua) — At least three children have died in a measles outbreak that hit two towns in southern Philippines, local authorities on Wednesday said. The measles epidemic that hit Talaingod and Kapalong towns in Mindanao’s Davao del Norte province came as the region is still reeling from rain-induced flooding and landslides that have already killed at least 15 people. Over thirty people are also hospitalized due to the viral disease, and eight of them were confirmed to have contracted the disease, according to Basilio Libayao, mayor of the upland Talaingod town. “What alarmed us was that even our town physician was not spared from the disease although he was lucky to have recovered from it,” Libayao said.

Foot-And-Mouth Disease continues to spread through South Korea

Source: Cattle

OL News reports South Korea is experiencing its worst foot-and-mouth disease outbreak ever as it has spread to an additional three cattle farms and one pig farm, bringing the total known cases to 85. The highly contagious virus continues to spread throughout South Korea despite the nationwide quarantine effort. The first FMD case was discovered in Andong on November 28. The virus has reached five of the nine provinces in South Korea and resulted in the culling of over 778,850 animals on 2,769 farms. The current outbreak has resulted in more deaths than the previous worst epidemic, in 2002, when 160,000 animals were killed. The country will issue vaccines to 700,000 cattle in an effort to keep its beef industry intact. Pigs, which are more commonly raised on larger farms than cattle, may also receive shots.

Japanese bird sanctuaries, poultry farms and zoos went on high alert last month after several species of migratory birds in different regions were found dead of what appeared to be H5N1 avian influenza. The virus frightened flu specialists when it resurfaced in Hong Kong in 2003 and quickly spread throughout Asia and along bird migratory routes to Europe and Africa. It has not mutated to spread among humans, though it still kills them occasionally — Egypt reported its 38th death last month.

Flock Of Birds Found Dead In Wilson County

Now, more that 100 dead birds were recently found in Wilson County, causing the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency to investigate. A resident notified the agency Tuesday afternoon after he spotted dozens of dead birds along Highway 70 north in Lebanon a few days ago. “It’s kind of a strange, odd thing. It plays into some of the things that have been happening in other places,” said Lt. Jim Hooper of the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency. TWRA officials found 120 dead blackbirds in the Spring Creek area when they investigated the situation on Wednesday. “We searched the adjoining fields and everywhere else, and there are no other birds except in this one very localized area,” said Hooper. “The birds have definitely been dead 5 or 6 days.”

Faenza: the rain of death turtle turns blue

GEAPRESS – There are certainly many hundreds, probably thousands, the collared dove who are dying at this moment in Faenza. They are in heaps in the flower beds, crushed by machinery in the streets, horribly hung from trees like Christmas balls. Many, many more, say the property information in the fenced land for industrial use. The WWF has other collections, not all already dead. A dozen, in fact, have been sent to the Center of Recovery The Robin of Modena, where those arriving are still alive but died shortly after. Inside the beak, in some animals, the staining was of a strange blue.

At least three children have died in a measles outbreak that hit two towns in southern Philippines, local authorities on Wednesday said. The continuous rains and landslides hampered medical teams from reaching far-flung communities of this landlocked town, where most of the 20,000 inhabitants belonging to the Ata-Manobo tribe rely on crude farming and occasional hunting for subsistence, according to municipal health officer James Ian dela Cruz. “We are expecting this number to increase as our medical teams reach other far-flung affected areas,” Doctor Dela Cruz said. Libayao said he has declared the town under state of calamity so funds from the local and provincial government could be used to buy more vaccines and other medical supplies for the victims. A similar outbreak of the disease was also reported in nearby Kapalong town, but according to Kapalong Mayor Edgardo Timbol, only about five patients are still undergoing treatment at the local hospital.

Is a Swine Flu Epidemic Coming to Ecuador?

Ecuadorian officials are denying they are facing a H1N1, swine flu, epidemic in spite of eight deaths and 35 confirmed cases reported in December 2010. The country’s national director of epidemiology, Juan Moreira, has stated the number of cases is “within an expected range.” International fears about an outbreak occurring are high in light of what is happening in England and Wales. Flu cases have more than doubled in the past couple of weeks in that region, and include the H1N1 strain. The World Health Organization is monitoring hot spots to ensure that another outbreak similar to the deadly 2009 doesn’t take hold globally. The 2009 outbreak started in a rural region of Mexico.

Texans are observing hundreds of dead birds on an East Texas bridge, according to a breaking report by KLTV in Tyler. This latest discovery compounds the mystery of recent reported discoveries of dozens, hundreds, even thousands of dead birds and fish documented in the southern United States as well as dead wildlife reports in other parts of the world this week. Around 200 birds were found dead on a Hwy 155 bridge over the Lake O’ the Pines, this morning. The cause of death of the birds identified as American Coots is unknown. Lake O’ the Pines is located on Big Cypress Creek in the Cypress River Basin, 25 miles northeast of Longview. Experts initially contacted by KLTV considered the large number of dead birds spotted on an east Texas bridge to most probably be a natural occurrence in the area. KLTV updated their report with information from Texas Parks and Wildlife Department’s Media Communication Director, Tom Harvey, who says it is not uncommon to see dozens of dead birds on this bridge. The Corps of Engineers office at Lake O’ the Pines reports that they are not sure why kills like this happen, but they think it likely that the birds get hit and killed by motor vehicles while walking, roosting or flying on and around the bridge. Greg Conley, from the Corp of Engineers, recalls seeing a similar situation involving multiple dead birds on bridges and roadways around Lake Fork. He considers this incident to be unrelated to the Arkansas situation.

Widespread Flu Epidemic Taking Bite Out of NYC

It seemed like a quiet flu season this year, but the risk is growing rapidly. New York is showing a dramatic increase in the number of serious infections and emergency room visits, and doctors are trying to figure out the reason. New York City’s Health Department has released some startling numbers. There were about 200 flu cases a day in October and some 300 cases in November, with similar numbers in early December. Right around Christmas, however, flu cases spiked to about 500 cases a day. Around the New Year, save for a brief dip, the flu in the city is widespread.

Epidemic for flu and stomach bugs

THE WINTER flu virus and stomach bugs have reached epidemic levels in France in the past week, new GP figures reveal. The research by the Sentinelles-Inserm network, which represents thousands of doctors around the country, found 275,000 new cases of flu reported nationwide last week. To be considered an epidemic, the flu bug must affect at least 177 people in every 100,000. The figure currently stands at 438 per 100,000 and is expected to remain high for at least another week.

Swine flu still at epidemic levels

Swine flu levels in Switzerland have hit epidemic levels, leading some experts to call for all health professionals to be vaccinated against the virus. One of them is Professor Andreas Widmer, an infectious diseases specialist at the University of Basel. Widmer says that when it comes to swine flu, the most at-risk people are not the elderly, but people aged between between 15 and 40—especially pregnant women, new mothers and people who are seriously overweight.

Bed Bug Issue Nearing Pandemic Level

More and more people are calling for help with bed bugs as the infestation spreads to new locations like movie theaters, retail stores, hospitals, day care facilities and libraries, Rosenberg said. “The results of the 2010 comprehensive Global Bed Bug Study suggest that we are on the threshold of a bed bug pandemic, not just in the United States, but around the world,” said Missy Henriksen, spokeswoman for NPMA.

Thousands of dead fish are washing up on Folly Beach Thursday. The Department of Health and Environmental Control says the fish is called menhaden they likely died as a result of the cold water. Biology crews are out on Folly Beach collecting samples. The menhaden are a schooling fish and there does not seem to be any unusual circumstances other than a cold kill, according to DHEC. The large amount of dead fish could be easily seen from the Folly Beach pier, extending great distances in both directions.

Mystery deepened over the death of 2 children at Ragimuddenahalli of Mandya district on Monday [3 Jan 2011] with doctors not confirming the cause of deaths. The children died after vomiting blood on Sunday. Meanwhile, the 3 children admitted to Cheluvamba Hospital here on Sunday [2 Jan 2011] with similar symptoms are said to be out of danger. Ruling out viral infection or encephalitis as suspected earlier, Dr Krishnamurthy, hospital superintendent, attributed the deaths to delay in blood clotting. “Their blood clotting time was 90-120 seconds against the normal 15-20 seconds,” he said. He said blood clotting is normally delayed in cases of people consuming rat poison or in haemorrhages. “The 3 children who are being treated now are below 3 years. They could have eaten bondas mixed with rat poison. But this is a distant possibility as the 5 children might not have chanced upon the same bondas,” Krishnamurthy felt. According to the parents, they all had dinner at their respective homes. “This makes the things more complicated for us to arrive at a conclusion and identify the reason,” he said. He has directed the doctors to send blood samples to the forensic laboratory in Bangalore where experts can trace the chemical that slows down blood clotting. “Only after receiving the report from Bangalore we can arrive at a conclusion,” he added. Meanwhile, health officials from Mandya Dr Arvindappa said he visited Cheluvamba Hospital and felt that children might have died of acute gastritis.

Bumblebees are the latest animals to be dying for no apparent reason

It’s not enough that birds are dropping from the skies and fish are washing up on our shores…now we’ve got disappearing bumblebees to contend with. Some American bumblebee species saw a massive 96% population drop in the last 20 years. The United States is home to fifty bumblebee species, and researchers at the University of Illinois examined eight of them. They discovered that half of the species they examined declined an average of 96% in total abundance, and now occupy just 13% of their previous geographic range. The bumblebee deaths may or may not be related to the ongoing colony collapse phenomenon that is affecting honeybees. Whatever is going on, this could affect our crops very soon, as lead researcher Sydney Cameron explains: “That certainly could impact the efficiency of our food production for many crops, such as cranberries, blueberries, tomatoes. Bumble bees are especially good pollinators of these types of crops.”

Louisiana’s state wildlife veterinarian says at least some of an estimated 450 birds that died near Baton Rouge may have flown into a power line. Jim LaCour said Tuesday [4 Jan 2011] the grackles, starlings, brown-headed cowbirds and red-winged blackbirds had broken beaks and backs. He says some live birds had broken wings but ran too fast to catch. The bird deaths Monday came a few days after about 3000 blackbirds fell from the sky in central Arkansas. Scientists there say celebratory fireworks on New Year’s Eve likely sent the birds into such a tizzy that they crashed into homes, cars and each other before plummeting to their deaths. Officials say such massive wildlife kills are not uncommon.

Quebec, Canada 1/7/11

More than 80 pigeons have keeled over and died at a farm near Quebec City for unknown reasons, the latest in a string of mysterious animal deaths around the world. Environmental officials in the province say there’s no connection to a similar case in Arkansas, but Sylvain Turmel is wondering why he’s been picking up dead pigeons for more than two weeks on his farm in Saint-Augustine-de-Desmaures. The first dead bird was found on Dec. 18. He’s since found more bodies on his roof and inside the barn. “I was stunned,” he said. “I went to see my tenant to ask whether he’d been feeding them poison. He ended helping me pick up 25 corpses. In the time it took us to collect them, five more had fallen. Authorities thought it might be gas. But that’s not possible.” A spokesperson for the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries said tests are currently being performed at the animal pathology lab in the provincial capital. “The cause right now isn’t known,” said Nicolas Begin. “It’s not related to what happened in the U.S. (But) we don’t see this sort of thing every day and we’re treating this as a serious matter.” About 5,000 birds fell from the sky in Arkansas over the New Year’s weekend. That incident is part of a string of fish and animal deaths seen in the U.S. and Europe, including a case in Maryland where two million fish washed up on the shores of Chesapeake Bay earlier this month, blamed on a rapid drop in temperature. In Quebec, firefighters and police visited Turmel’s property to check for fumes or criminal activity. Wildlife officials assured him the birds weren’t killed by the avian flu or the West Nile virus, but he’s been wary about touching them without gloves. He said wildlife officials took seven of the dead birds for analysis and told him not to speak with the media. Still, the feisty landowner called a local radio station to recount the incident. There’s something going on,” he said. “This is not normal.”

Flu epidemic to worsen — health authorities

Health authorities have played down the threat of flu pandemic in Ireland even as they reported a doubling up of human swine flu cases in the past week. But they denied Department of Health and HSE claims that increasing numbers of swine flu cases were to blame for overcrowding in hospital emergency departments. Dr Kevin Kelleher, HSE head of health protection, also reassured journalists that the country had enough stockpiles of swine flu vaccines to cover up to a million people, even without reverting to orders previously cancelled. Stocks were within their use before date, as independently verified by the Irish Medicines Board, he said. GPs have diagnosed around 5,400 new cases this week — double the number of cases found in the previous week, and 26 patients were being treated yesterday in intensive care units (ICUs) for influenza, according to official figures. This represents a rate of more than 120 new cases for every 100,000 people compared to over 200 new cases for every 100,000 people at the height of the pandemic in 2009.

Epidemic fears as 31 child swine flu victims fight for life and deaths hit 50

At least 31 children with swine flu are fighting for their lives in hospitals across Britain, nine of them in paediatric intensive care units in London. Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital have four children on ventilation machines, the highest number in any one intensive care unit. Bob Winter, president of the Intensive Care Society said the system was “coping” but special measures had been put in place in case of an epidemic. He said operations could be cancelled and theatre recovery areas could be used as makeshift intensive care units to cope with demand. Children and teenagers are being worst hit in the flu outbreak, with the H1N1 swine flu virus responsible for the majority of deaths so far this winter. Thirteen patients under 14 have died, including five under the age of five. Flu has killed 50 people across the UK — 45 succumbed to swine flu — including 11 this week.Leftover swine flu vaccine from last year’s pandemic is to be rushed out to GP surgeries. About 13 million doses are being released to combat local shortages. A handful of London surgeries are among those that have run out of stock.

Whooping cough epidemic spreads

A whooping cough epidemic continues to sweep along the east coast of Australia. In the past two years, there have been four deaths nationally due to the condition. Health experts are attributing some of the cases to new tests that are picking up milder cases of the disease. After an explosion in the number of cases, parents and carers are being warned to update their immunisations with a booster to prevent the spread.

16 new hepatitis A cases registered in Haskovo, Southern Bulgaria

16 new cases of hepatitis A have been registered in the hospital in the southern town of Haskovo. The patients are from the towns of Haskovo, Dimitrovgrad, Lyubimets, Simeonovgrad and Svilengrad and the village of Dobrich, the regional health inspectorate told FOCUS News Agency. The hospital released 23 patients and is now taking care of 102. Since the beginning of December 2010 the hospital has registered 208 cases of hepatitis A.

Swine flu forces hospital to close

Halstead Hospital has also had to be deep cleaned following an outbreak of swine flu and seasonal flu over Christmas. The hospital was unable to take any new admissions until Tuesday this week because of attempts to contain the outbreak. Halstead schools are poised for a flu outbreak after youngsters returned following the festive break. Headteacher David Iles of Richard de Clare Primary School said: “We have had another look at our policy in the case of an epidemic.

Death Toll in Haiti Cholera Epidemic Now 3,651

PORT-AU-PRINCE – The death toll in the cholera epidemic that broke out in mid-October in Haiti now stands at 3,651, and a total of 171,304 people have been infected with the disease, according to a bulletin made public on Thursday by the Public Health and Population Ministry.

Flu cases rising

TUSCALOOSA | Although this flu season does not appear to be as bad as the H1N1 epidemic of 2009, the season is just getting started, according to state officials. Over the last two weeks, cases of influenza have been considered “widespread,” meaning they are in almost every county in Alabama. “Right now it’s definitely picking up statewide,” said Sherri Davidson, state influenza coordinator at the Alabama Department of Public Health. “We don’t know if it will continue to increase for several weeks or not. We’ll have to wait and see.”

Flu death toll reaches 12 in Wales

TWELVE people have died after contracting flu in Wales, the Assembly Government said last night. And flu was a contributory factor in a further 45 deaths since October, the figures revealed. But experts believe the true number of people who have died as a result of flu this winter in Wales will be far higher. The figures – the first to be issued by the Assembly Government since the end of the swine flu pandemic – come as doctors in Wales have been given permission to use the 2009 swine flu jab to vaccinate patients. It follows shortages of the seasonal flu vaccine in parts of Wales, including the nation’s largest hospital – the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff. The figures also show there are 71 people with flu being treated in critical care beds in Wales – 21 of whom are aged between six and 15. The flu death toll in the rest of the UK stood at 50, up 11 on last week’s figures. This includes reports of 12 flu-related deaths in Scotland. The majority of these deaths were people who had contracted the H1N1 swine flu virus.

Major Flu Outbreak In Central Florida

There is a major outbreak of the flu in Central Florida and even doctors said they were astounded by the number of people getting sick. This week, doctors at Florida Hospital Centra Care saw 17 times their usual number of flu patients. The flu is spreading and people are suffering and walk-in clinics like Centra Care have been busy. “I had mine for about 10 days, body aches, headaches, sore throat, little bit of fever,” said patient Natalie Diaz. “At Centra Care we’ve seen a dramatic increase in the number of flu cases,” Dr. Tim Hendrix of Centra Care said. Dr. Hendrix said in early December, Centra Care was seeing about 20 flu cases a week, and the past 7 days they’ve seen 340 people with the flu. “It’s been a substantial increase. I’d say we’re pretty much into an epidemic type of flu scenario now,” Hendrix said.

Around 30 swine flu cases have been registered in Sindh, mainly in Karachi, during the first week of new year. The mysteriously spreading influenza virus of swine flue (H1N1) has taken lives of two persons and affected 30 other people in the province. The first victim was Iftikharullah, 28, who died on New Year night. The second victim, a married woman named Rafia Aslam, died on Tuesday in one of the leading private hospitals in the city. Swine Flu Surveillance Cell Focal Person Dr Shakeel Malik told Business Recorder that about 30 victims of the influenza virus swine flue (H1N1) have been registered, out of 80 blood samplings. Some of them are from medical attendants, and a doctor. About the areas of the affected people, he said that many of them belonged to New Karachi, North Karachi & Liaquatabad. He said that the situation was under control. It is the normal influenza and these registered cases are positive. He said that on Saturday inauguration ceremony would be held in connection with regular opening of Influenza Lab in Civil Hospital, Karachi. He said there are no charges for testing the sampling, while a leading private hospital charges Rs 6,500. Shakeel said that the results of sampling are available in 72 hours. Experts have advised people to avoid public gathering, wash hands after passage of some time, take care of cleanliness, and use handkerchief while sneezing, because the virus can affect people to people through influenza.

The San Diego County Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA) has announced a chickenpox (varicella) outbreak at Hill Creek Elementary School. Five students have been diagnosed, one ten-year-old and four 8-year-olds in different classes. One child was immunized, another was unimmunized, and three others had taken the recommended doses of the varicella vaccine. Hill Creek has sent out letters informing parents, students, and staff about the outbreak. “We want to remind residents that chickenpox is a preventable disease. By getting both doses of the vaccine, parents can help their children avoid chickenpox or have a milder form of the disease,” said Wilma Wooten, M.D., M.P.H., County Public Health Officer. Last year there were 22 cases of chickenpox in four school clusters, and in 2009 there were 69 cases in 10 outbreaks. This is the first outbreak of the year, according to the HHSA. The highly contagious virus is spread by coughing, sneezing or contact with chickenpox blisters and results in rash and blisters and usually involves a fever. The incubation period after exposure is about two weeks, and the disease lasts about five days. There is a risk of complications in post-pubescent victims. The incubation period usually takes 14-16 days from exposure.

2010 a RECORD-BREAKING YEAR for manatee deaths in FLORIDA

The freezes that started and finished 2010 added up to a record-breaking deadly year for endangered manatees in Florida. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission released figures Wednesday that show 767 manatees died from various causes in 2010, beating 2009’s record of 429. That’s a 79 percent increase and more than double the annual average of the past five years.

Some days, 14 dead manatees were lying in the Conservation Commission’s necropsy room only to have rescuers get a report of another manatee in distress. The freezes were especially troubling because they were severe enough to kill adult manatees, including females that are crucial to maintaining reproduction rates.

Manatee monitors will need a couple years of data to measure the die-off’s long-term effect on Florida’s manatee populations. “It definitely was a blow.” Of last year’s deaths, 279 were attributed to cold weather – 244 in early 2010 and 35 during last month’s cold snap. A cause could not be determined for another 214 deaths, but many of them likely also were due to the cold. Cold weather also contributed to 21 of the 96 newborn manatees that died in 2010 and are tracked under their own category. Last year started with a stretch of cold weather that put the number of dead manatees in 2010 in the record book even before last month’s chill. Since Dec. 5, biologists recovered two manatees in Collier and seven in Lee that died from cold stress. In January 2010, manatee trackers counted more than 5,000 manatees in Florida’s waters, some 1,200 more manatees than they counted in 2009. The aerial surveys represent a minimum number. The counts can vary widely from one year to the next depending on visibility and weather.

Signs in False Shepherds & False Religion

“For among them are those who worm their way into households and capture idle women burdened down with sins, led along by a variety of passions, always learning and never able to come to a knowledge of the truth. But they will not make further progress, for their lack of understanding will be clear to all, as theirs was also.” 2 Timothy 3:6-9
